While this is cool for people who are into these types of games, I really hope the unlocking of unique rewards for the console version works like the Injustice mobile game. That way those of us who don't care for this can just pass around some accounts and get the costumes/whatever.

I didn't mind the mobile game for some fun, but the tedium of going through it for unlocks was really ridiculous. Honestly, stuff like this makes a "Komplete Edition" that much more worthwhile 6 months down the road.

I can't imagine he trades the whips for a sword. Usually the variations add hardware not swap it

It won't be a straight swap. You can see he still has kunai on his arm, so he will have some moves involving them, but I think he'll have access to a lot more "whip-like" moves in his variation without his sword.

To be fair, they skipped MK2, as well....which was an incredible game.

Also, if this is just the same style gameplay as Injustice, the Arkham mobile games and WWE Immortals, I'll pass. I still have flashbacks of the amount of time I had to put into fucking mobile Injustice to unlock all those costumes. Ugh. So tedious and not fun at all.

Yeah thats gonna be really annoying when the mobile version keeps getting characters and updates MONTHS after they leave MKX. Super depressing that characters like darkseid showed up exclusively in the mobile app and im sure the trend will continue here.

Precisely. The game would be far more fun if it wasn't used as a way to force us to unlock things for the console.

I said it before, stuff like this makes a Komplete Edition much more desirable.

The unlocks for Injustice weren't that much of a big deal. I mean, there were a couple of costumes, but nothing groundbreaking and nothing you wouldn't have been fine without.

I mainly played the game on its own merit, just to see how long it'd take me to beat. I had a good time and took it at my own pace. But if anyone decides to skip out, I doubt they'll be missing much from the MKX experience.

Now if DLC characters or game modes were only unlocked this way, that'd be a different story altogether.
