I love how some people still think there isnt going to be Sonya and Johnny in the game.

There are enough hints to to make them a safe bet and also
WITH WHICH CHARACTERS ARE WE GOING TO PLAY THE NETHERREALM WAR ERA? RAIDEN ONLY LOL?

Sonya and Johnny are in guys. If the final roster is really 24 this roster is really really likely to be it.

Also MKX is PASSING THE TORCH not the next generation only.

I'm not inclined to believe this list, but the picks do sound likely. I mean, the story of MKX is supposed to span over 25 years and as the current official roster stands, there really isn't any classic MK characters to star in the past segments other than Raiden and Kung Lao.

Do you realize how much rage that would induce in the fans? NRS wouldn't be stupid enough to do that.

That makes no sense. What variation does Cassie have that features both Sonya and Johnny Cage specials? Hollywood has the nut punch and Brawler has the tackle, sure, but those are separate variations/not themed as the "Sonya" variation or the "Johnny" variation.

I think Boon was more getting at the fact that Cassie wouldn't be a Sonya clone.

That being said, Sonya and Johnny pretty much have to be in the story, which doesn't 100% confirm them as playable, but makes it pretty damn likely. I mean, we know rain is in the story, but most people don't think he will be playable (he's no SB or JC but still, if there's one character who's in the story but not playable, there will probably be more).

I'm still holding out it's not sonya/jax/johnny. Rather not all 3. If i had to guess, i'd say johnny wouldn't make it at this point, and maybe jax, but I can't say for certain i've got anyone else to suggest. Either way I agree that even if this guy is just guessing, it looks like the most likely guess at this point.

I'm like 90% certain Johnny and Sonya are playable. Who else could carry the story set in the earlier part of the 25 years? Liu Kang could, but I have a feeling that if he is in the game and playable, he'll most likely come in towards the end of the story and be unlockable like Quan Chi in MK9.

First, good find! Second, I agree, but maybe he forgot to add Rain, It would be weird if the roster ends up being 25 than 26 (unless they're not counting goro so it will be 24 without Rain and then makes sense). Johnny was a given thanbks to the NRS guy and Sonya and Jax from the Factions trailer, the rest are from the story trailer (except for kenshi) so the chances of this being legit are huge in my opinion.
On a side note: I really don't like this final roster, having Jaqui, Jax, Cassie, Sonya and Johnny all at the same time was a wrong decision imo, it would be more diverse to have Cyrax, Shang Tsun, Noob, Smoke, or many others instead of Jax, Sonya and Johnny, knowing that Jaquie and Cassie inherited their parents fight styles.

But, in the last stream, they said that made a real effort to not just take some of Sonya's moves and some of Johnny's move and instead give Cassie her own style with some callbacks to her parents.
