UltraDavid is a really good commentator. Both Aris and Delriach made a good duo with him.

u wot m8?
probably the latter, but Chris g figured THAT out quick. he must be like "HMMM i play 15 games, i need a character who gives others a headache and can be mastered without practicing that much". i bet he will be drawn to reptile again in mkx, he Looks very easy again.Well, either Chris G was so good that he figured out decent stuff in a go, or there was simply nothing else to figure in Reptile's design
Gotta admit that those points were indeed not mutually exclusive.probably the latter, but Chris g figured THAT out quick. he must be like "HMMM i play 15 games, i need a character who gives others a headache and can be mastered without practicing that much". i bet he will be drawn to reptile again in mkx, he Looks very easy again.
Maybe a bit of both? This isn't to say Reptile didn't get better once we realized how many 0 on block strings he had and that he didn't have set-ups.Well, either Chris G was so good that he figured out decent stuff in a go, or there was simply nothing else to figure in Reptile's design
A bit off-topic, but what's up with that?I mean...I know the Reptile Community hates Chris G...
I mean...have you ever perused their forum, especially back when everyone was playing MK9, and looked at what they were saying about him?A bit off-topic, but what's up with that?
Actually Reptile is Chris G's favorite character and he used him in UMK3 way before MK9. He already said he'll be using him in MKX.probably the latter, but Chris g figured THAT out quick. he must be like "HMMM i play 15 games, i need a character who gives others a headache and can be mastered without practicing that much". i bet he will be drawn to reptile again in mkx, he Looks very easy again.
well ok there goes my theoryActually Reptile is Chris G's favorite character and he used him in UMK3 way before MK9. He already said he'll be using him in MKX.
Because he was always the best Reptile without really practicing the game and for the most part, had the best results with him out of any true Reptile main. So many in the Reptile community just wanted to arrogantly nit-pick his playing style. I'm not saying they all disliked him by the way, and I feel the MK community in general has actually warmed up to Chris G, but there was always this "oh he's getting away with outdated 2011 tactics" narrative. Well, maybe there are reasons for that, including the fact that he understood the character.A bit off-topic, but what's up with that?
Chris G was making top 8's with Reptile as recently as NEC 2014. I mean, he beat CD Jr and Perfect Legend in 2013. Yeah, he went through a bad spell in 2012 since he wasn't practicing but during that time, nobody else was really putting work with Chris G. Showtime and MIT are awesome but they were using other characters as well.Dafuq? No one ever told anyone that they shouldn't play like chris g, at least I never did from what I remember. Hell I learned how to play the character from him and @THTB. Not to mention past evo 2011 Chris G didn't put up the results you guys are talking about. He had some good places here and there, but the rest of us started to put in some work after, specifically showtime, tylerlantern cossner and some others. Hell I had a top 8 under my belt. @Rude @coolwhip No one hates chris g he was a solid player, but he was kind of misconceived as the best rep player throughout the entirety of the game when there were more people getting more results after a certain point. The lack of recognition was real.
Chris was probably the best Reptile player. Showtime eventually switched off, and MIT never really stuck to Reptile by himself. And people did hate on Chris, too lol (myself included especially >_>).Dafuq? No one ever told anyone that they shouldn't play like chris g, at least I never did from what I remember. Go back, watch the gameplay and prepare to cringe.Chris was probably the best Reptile player. Showtime eventually switched off, and MIT never really stuck to Reptile by himself. And people did hate on Chris, too lol (myself included especially >_>).
His results only slowed down in 2012. But he still was doing really well in comparison to any other solo-Reptile player afterwards (when the game reached it's "no-entry" point in late 2012-early 2013).
Chris was playing Reptile the way I played him at PowerUp 2011 before I even was. I actually learned the Reptile strats after learning how Chris was playing.
Lol no shit back then it was cringeworthy. But like I said, he was still making dents in tournaments.Go back, watch the gameplay and prepare to cringe.
