The Brutality Opinion Thread

When they did the first one, I was slightly underwhelmed--it just happened so quickly, I just wasn't expecting it. Then I realized what they were, add that to there being so many, I think they're really cool.

You can end combos with them, they don't take up a bunch of extra time like fatalities, etc. Once I do the fatalities each one time, I pretty much never do them again, but I can see these actually being fun to do in match. To each their own, but I really like them.

omg please delete this thread, it's so stupid, the brutalities were fucking amazing, and if you are still bitching and complaining after something like this has just been revealed then i swear..... this game is so good, and everything NRS does for us and this game is extremely, extremely well done. im really really looking forward to the game now that this recent stream is now over!..

I'm not particularly impressed, but these Brutalities are basically what I wanted as an alternate option for Fatalities, so there would be a way to use them in competitive play or online before your opponent could disconnect.

And they're better than those goofy-ass thousand-hit explodey ones. Seriously, guys. The only reason you would want one of those in is due to nostalgia. They were stupid as hell and not even that rewarding to pull off.

I wasn't expecting to like them because I hated the original ones. But these are great.

I've really wanted less cinematic and visceral finishers. These really remind me of the MK1 and MK2 finishers. Not all the flash, just boom-bam, done. I think they're great.

These are way better than the old brutalities IMO.
I have to agree. Though I love(d) the long Ultra-combo-ish nature of the old ones, I've been waiting for a way to do an -ality at the end of a match WITHOUT the Fatality state since the MK3 era. I didn't think I'd get anything of the sort in MKX, so I'm happy with what we are getting...though I REALLY want to know how they are done.

I honestly feel like they were Fatalities that weren't chosen to make the cut, but were still good enough to use in some way. Not necessarily a bad thing tho, as some of them were hype af (D'Vorah's Bug, Lao's Extended throw).

To those complaining, I kinda see where you're coming from. I imagined them to be completely different from what we saw, but at least we don't see 500 bones and legs on the screen after an opponent is combo'd into an explosion lol.

Brutalities are OK. I'm still hyped for the game. You don't have to do them...

MKX Brutality is a tournament streamlined version of a fatality. MK9 tournament players would input the no blood code in order to skip the "FINISH HIM" and all that nonsense in order to progress to the next match. This way NRS will be happy to see some kind of death at the end game and hopefully it assists tournament players progress to the next match almost as quickly as the no blood code did in MK9. Personally I would like to have called it a different ality as everyone is right. Brutality doesn't really fit this ender. Regardless I think the idea is pretty awesome.

Also, was it just the demo build, or are you able to potentially do these in round 1?
