Character Reveal slow pace a bad sign?

The character reveals are IMO going way to slow. They did this with MK9 and it pretty much hurt them because the entire roster and even renders were leaked with a front page news search nearly a month before the game debuted. It makes me wonder if either there isn't much left to show and/or the same thing will happen or something to that nature. I also feel like this could mean their pre-order incentives not really being shown is hurting as well. I mean, maybe they are selling like hot cakes and don't need to but from my experience pre-order stuff is almost always available in my area or nearby for nearly every game the day before still. I mean, I'm fine with them not showing everything and keeping the hype up but it still feels like there is a tremendous amount not yet revealed yet.

Top-tier at everything but the characters I choose
- Leaks are gonna happen, they can't stop it.
- There's plenty left to show (Story, remaining characters, gameplay footage of an actual tower challenge, online modes, etc.)
- We've had FOUR reveals since January (Kung Lao, Kitana, Ermac, Reptile)
-BRUTALITIES tomorrow (plus unknown -ality remains)

Idk man, I have to disagree with you. I believe the 'they're not showing enough' ship sailed a long time ago.

We also don't know about faction rewards, how invasions work altogether, spectator modes for online, a possible Krypt, hidden matches (like Smoke/Jade/Reptile in MK9s ladders), and plenty other little tidbits that NRS loves to squeeze into every game. Don't wworry man, NRS has got your back. Dollar for dollar, no FG puts more value into a game than NRS.

We'll be fine.

why do you disagree? the stuff you just mentioned is like I said all stuff that has me concerned. that's a decent amount of reveals yes...but the game comes out in 6 weeks? they could at least say "there will be 28 fighters" or whatever. they have always just given a 30ish comment. which could include DLCs and always that stuff is subject to change.

as i said in the other thread, a lack of reveals usually means a lack of stuff you can actually show... which would be pretty weird less than 2 months before release

First off idk why everyone expects them to show off the full roster they don't HAVE to nor do I think they even should.. It's not hurting them either.
Wouldn't mind getting a few surprises when I pop in the disc day one..I understand the want to see more and more for the game but why show off everything before release? Part of the fun of getting a new game is the surprises you might end up with.

You can pre-order all the way up until the day the game releases. If you're still not satisfied by that time, wait until the game is out to make your decision. You guys need to stop acting like you're picking out a chick to marry.

Okay. I didn't say they should announce the full roster or anything to the nature. nor do I understand some of the negative comments so far. But I do know this...The game's final master has to be sent soon to facilities were they press the digital image to the game within the next two weeks in order for it to be pressed and shipped on it's release night. If Netherreal WB doesn't at least give us information then that stuff always gets leaked from that sent. This has happened with both MK9 and Injustice. My point is I don't want to see that happen. and many times these leaks and pictures can't be avoided because if you search for the game they end up on news sites.

Going from your point, if they say "Ok guys, there's gonna be 30 characters including DLC."

Then what? Radio silence until April 14th? Every potential buyer isn't someone who keeps up with development. The streams are maxing out at 30-35k viewers. That's around 1% of MK9s total sales. There will be tons of people who won't know/remember MKX is coming out until they see that first commercial on their screens. Giving all the info out now does nothing but satisfy a few people (myself NOT included). Anyway, it's marketing 101. They have us by the balls, and are luring us in closer with every bit of information. Day by day, comic by comic, stream by stream, tweet by fucking tweet.

We're all buying the game regardless, yet somehow, the collective TYM mouth waters at the hint of anything.
At this point, your thread is actually the first one in a loooong time concerned about the speed of reveals.
This tells me, for sure, and again that we're fine.

No problem expressing yourself though.

I wouldnt go crazy. March is the time they need to show a bunch of stuff.

I can see them going bananas the last month before release and revealing like 2 characters or other stuff each week to bring much hype as possible shortly before release and not letting MKX out of our minds with seeing stuff left and right.

Also game gonna go gold next month what means they are gonna start printing discs. This gives them more time to show off stuff then.

And its not like they didnt show anything in the last weeks. They showed enough to be satisfied and not be worried.

If they need to get the game out in two weeks, then maybe they're focusing on polishing up a few last minute details instead of being worried about Goro trailers and what not at the moment.

In an age where games regularly disappoint and don't live up to the hype, I can still honestly say I have 100% faith that NRS will deliver a game that I'd happily pay twice the cost for.

I assume most people on this site are too young to remember the feeling of walking into an arcade and seeing the new MK game for the first time. I was 13 or 14 when MK2 was released and I think the only thing I can compare my excitement to is losing my virginity. Even that sorta pales in comparison. This is a feeling I'd like to have just a FRACTION of upon MKX's release.

The game is going to absolutely fucking kick ass. Just let NRS do what they do and trust them. And everyone PLEASE stop acting like they're not buying this shit the day it comes out. You're not fooling anyone.

MK games have always had an air of mystery about them. I'd like it to stay that way for as long as I'm playing the games.

I really can't believe the backlash and hate I'm getting for posting my concern on this. This is a legitimate concern. Both Injustice's and Mk9s entire content master of the game was released a month before the release of the game. Obviously, I do think the game will still sell well and be a huge success but my point is that we are nearing that mark very soon and that at that point any speculation, character reveals, alternate costumes unless they are DLC will become moot because if people are really interested in finding it then it will be there. only the "filthy casuals" and people just browsing gamesites will be in awe of new updates. that is my concern and I do sincerely believe it is legitimate. Anyhow, my point is the slow reveals have made my ponder if they have learned their lesson. I just don't want people to have content spoiled if they truly intend on making the reveals slow and massive till the end.

anyway...apparently this is a sour topic here for whatever reason and allegedly discussed a lot that I apparently missed so I apologize for that.

I totally agree with you actually...I fully intend on buying it. Heck if I could afford another next gen console I'd get it for that too! that was not really my concern. I just don't wan't stuff that is cool they want to reveal themselves get sidestepped by a leak. which as stated...happened in both mk9 and injustice.

join the club. I'm currently TYM persona non grata because I had the audacity of not praising yesterday's cringe inducing video and dared to ask (ask not demand) for character reveals instead of a video about how someone loves Kitana.
I reached the point where I got harassed so hard that I'm currently backlashing at anyone who's rude to me because I'm not praising everything NRS does.
