What is the legacy that Injustice: GAU leaves behind?

that not what am saying retard.
they just had to make low gunshots harder to execute, without messing with his frames.
again, casuals loved DS because he was brain dead easy. making him harder to use solves the fucking issue.
Again, Deathstroke's frames were "messed with" by 10+ frames. Low gunshots were -12 on block. They are -23 on block now.

Again, you are a scrub and a dumb individual.

A fool like you can kiss Sonic Fox's ass all he wants. I have nothing personal against Sonic Fox, but I will speak my mind and express what many players in the community believe about Batgirl and the vortex.
There's that "fool" insult you go to by default. It's old and not cool, anymore.
And obviously, Batgirl's shit was broken but you're sittin there taking away from someone just because Batgirl's vortex.
Sorry, homie, but you're making a bigger deal about it than need be.
If every top 8 had like 3 Batgirls then okay....but we NEVER SEE BATGIRLS IN TOP 8! If the vortex is so broken, why is only ONE PERSON SO DOMINANT WITH HER? I, personally, hate the vortex. But you act like Aquaman, MMH, or Flash aren't broken and Batgirl's vortex keeps people from being able to play the game and destroys the game's meta (IE - Scorpion's tele in Inj pre-patch). Batgirl is OBVIOUSLY the best character in the game but it's not by a landslide.

I'm not "Kissing Sonix Fox's ass", I'm just pointing out that you are taking away from our Evo, CEO, and every other tourney champion because he uses Batgirl. Like he only wins in Injustice and only because he uses Batgirl.

I understand you have nothing personal against him and I'm not trying to start a rouse between you two and I don't give a shit that much. But I defend talent. I can almost promise that if you mained Batgirl for her whole life in Injustice, you still wouldn't win a Major tourney.

can you read?
all am saying is that balances aimed towards casuals don't have change at high level.
the entire world knows that DS frames changed.
that didn't have to happen, all he needed was to make him harder to use.
am not telling you what happened, am telling what NRS should had done IMO.
again, balances aimed towards casual don't have to change high level play.
making things harder to execute would solve most issues for casuals.

I think it leaves behind a pretty decent legacy, albeit one that is pretty well worn and leaky. The biggest attribute would be that it was featured on the Evo stage two years in a row, which is more than many games in the past have, so props to that, and while the first Evo was unfortunately during a time when the game's meta was very 1-dimensional and a bit plain to watch, the second Evo did not disappoint in excitement and epic matches. Even the first Evo, ignoring the early game slop, was entertaining and had its own fair share of upsets and storylines. A B- showing at Evo 2013 and a solid A at Evo 2014 I'd say.

There was a lot of new players that came to prominence and some old MK hands who stepped up to the majors, which was great to see. People like Honeybee, Whiteboi, Theo and Jupiter, who had minor MK appearances at best, became established names, with Theo taking three of 2014's biggest tournaments and Jupiter and Bee remaining pretty prominent top 3 placers all along the East Coast. MK hands like Pimpimjim and Noobe achieved some of the highest marks in their career in Injustice, and even the old top guys like 16 Bit, DJT and ForeverKing stayed relevant throughout the game's life.

As much good as there was, there was plenty of rough patches to go through. Number 1 had to be the false narratives and disingenuity that ran rampant early in the game's life and that still persist even to this day. Notice how Dave keeps spamming that scrubs got DS nerfed, when by the time the first patch came out that nerfed gunshots there was no possible way they could have gotten two weeks of feedback and had a patch approved by MS. There are countless other examples, chief among them the Scorpion drama in which certain players winning was seen as unacceptable and a massive witch hunt commenced. Another big issue was the overreaction to seeding, or particularly the lack of at first posting. Seeding is an important thing, but the massive amounts of butthurt when pools are initially posted is an embarrassment and all those who contributed to that should apologize (preferably on their knees).

Bitterness, in and of itself, was a huge issue in general. Whether it was old MK players who couldn't cut the mustard or new players looking for an excuse, or even IGAU players desperately seeking approval, the amount of funny walking caused by large, inanimate objects being shoved up rear ends was a sight to behold. I will say that for the most part this was a forum only issue, as tournaments were always fun and most of the biggest babies stuck to TYM. Mostly.

Lastly, the self bashing of the community itself got really bad. Old grudges and soft feelings came to the forefront and caused many a forum goer to bemoan the loss of the community spirit, which was so ridiculous I can't imagine anyone typed it with a straight face. Egos colliding is the forefront of any competitive activity, and while people get heated, it's not a reason to start shaming the community as bullies and jerks because of it. My hope is that by the time Mortal Kombat X comes around a lot of people toughen up and understand that people want to win and like to have fun, so yeah, there may be a little name calling and some flare-ups, but that doesn't mean we all need to get red fist avatars and "save the community" from itself.

All in all, a decent game.

Extremely fun at first, got horribly, horribly redundant and unfun later on. Doing one blockstring into a special move is not fun for almost an entire year.

I'll probably miss the game a little, though. My little brother was a frickin' prodigy at this game and it made me so happy watching him beat good players. I hope he succeeds in MKX too. I'm glad I got out of pools at Evo as that was my only goal I hadn't accomplished in this game, yet (get out of a pool at a major).

Balance-wise, it's lightyears better than MK9, my god how many crap characters are truly in that game. The top tier are nowhere near as broken, and the lower tiered characters still have good options. I'm really amped for the balance in MKX to be better than Injustice's (although I think it's going to be much harder cause of the variation system). The inputs sucked ass in injustice, but I did like the option for alternate controls. Button checks on the select screen was awesome, the training mode is WAY better than MK9's barebones training mode. Injustice made huge leaps and bounds over MK9 in almost everything except the gameplay, really. I feel like the gameplay is more cheesy and less solid. Hopefully MKX will have the right balance on Injustice gameplay mechanics and MK9 gameplay mechanics.

The Best.
I did. I was placing top 8 in games like Tekken 5: DR when you were in your diapers.

Try again, fool.
i didn't say 3d. play a 2d fighter that is not nrs. i see 2d and 3d fighters as completely different genres. Same concepts but completely different tactics. Zoning doesn't exist in tekken.

If you are going to allow online players to influence the game's balance, why waste money on tournament players as testers?
To get the best of both worlds.

Ed's been pretty clear on the fact that his games are made for both crowds. That involves compromises, but in the end, his games are selling millions on millions of copies.

This reminds me, and this might be a bit off topic, but saying that someone isn't good at a game, while not the nicest thing in the world (and in some cases might be flat out wrong), is not a "personal attack." Just thought I'd point that out in light of a recent thread.

Savagely beating his super-ego with his id...
I liked the game a lot.... I mean it's no MK but still...
Im hoping that maybe with MKX I won't have to stop comming to this site due to overwhelming negativity and straight bitchyness...
I love to see these games played at a level I can't physically do... I love to watch tech videos about things just so I have knowledge of what's going on in matches...
But I can't take the Jr high petty bs and name calling from people who should be so God damn happy that they can play at the level they do..
I wish I could win once in a while or even do basic combos... But I play losing match after match and have fun because of my love of the game and the community...
There are people here with great stories and great talent and I feel like if some people weren't so caught up in thier own bs that you all could be so much more...

TLDR; I see a game and people behind it that could be wonderful if focus is put on the right things... Who's Next..

True. I always forget how much Sindel was fucked over.

She was cheap because she had various fireballs. She did not need any buffs. That is what this scrubby community thought at that time.
Don't really know what to say about Sindel in patch casualties, some good buffs, some bad nerfs but she still remained bad or worse.

4~Special was nerfed
B1 buff into low starter
Faster Yell buff
Failed to put armor on EX Step Up wake up
Terrible D1
Hair Whip -7 no push back on block and hits high, not mid
Large hitbox prone to cross ups, U4 too slow
Levi-Cancels extremely overrated unless D4~LC

Just curious M2Dave, since you kind of played her what do you think she could've needed buffs/fixes from your experience zoning with her?

I don't know about Tekken, but I thought NRS crowd is the only community out there that applies term "zoning" only to things with fullscreen reach...
Its only because mkst characters in nrs do fullscreen zoning. Other fighters have midscreen zoning and zoning with normals

Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Sinestro, and Superman are perfect examples of mid screen zoning characters.

Injustice only has one full screen zoning character. At least only one very good one.

DS being nerfed so quickly is what made me quit the game to begin with. I'll admit low guns could be annoying online at times, but they nerfed it wrong. The chip damage should of been reduced. A lot of casual players loved DS because of the netcode and he was easy to use online on day 1. They quickly learned to execute low guns and sword flip if someone tried to jump in. It was extremely easy to do even with a mediocre connection. Even though those players learned a very basic zoning strategy they failed to grow beyond that. Meanwhile, you all grew as players while they quit, forcing you to play a game even lesser players dictatated.

Can I say that Sonicfox is probably the best NRS player in the world right now and the best IGAU player of all time....while also saying that Batgirl's vortex is absolute bullshit and it kills me to see players wiped out because they guess wrong twice?

or do I have to choose between being made of pure salt, calling people 'fool' like a knock off Mr.T and believe Fox is barely better than a scrub......or thinking Fox is the second coming of Christ?
but it is ok when you guess wrong twice against the flash and get wiped out........ hmmm

Amplified$hotz

I like Tekken 8
It's so weird. Batgirl has a whole bunch of 5-5 matchups but is such a dominant character. She's like the scariest 5-5 match up.

I'd say its because at the end of the day her character is fundamentally based on guessing. Guess right and it can feel even...but no matter what, sometimes you're gonna get blown the hell up
That being said....I actually kinda think that with the risk reward she has, a lot of her "5-5s" are more in her favor. I'll defend sonic fox as I genuinely think the kid is godlike...but I'm not convinced by this weak neutral game argument. I suppose its weak if you're just comparing it to the other top tier characters.

While Sonix Fox's neutral game may be weak, Batgirl's is not. She has a weak neutral game in the sense that she lacks the great mid range tool that Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, and Sinestro do not lack. Batgirl's neutral game is very simple yet highly effective. Forward dash into the safe 50/50 mix up or jump 2 / aerial teleport. The risk versus reward ratio is always in Batgirl's favor because you can die in two and a half mix ups. She has one of the best and most rewarding neutral games in Injustice.

It had a great practice mode

This. I also felt it was more polished than MK9, but it lacked the appeal for me. I never once said to myself ''Oh man I gotta get home and play Injustice!'' like I did with MK9. It's a difficult thing to explain, but I am sure some of you understand what I am trying to say there.

I have high hopes for MKX, and can't wait to play some of you fine folks in it. (those of you playing on xbone that is)
