What weakness do you want to improve when MKX drops?

callMEcrazy

Alone is where to find me.
My weakness is getting out of pressure, specially from the corner. Frame traps annihilate me. I barely won any matches against Cage in MK9.

My AA isn't that great either. I never mastered the standing 1/2 AA in MK9 although Sektor's t rex arms made it even more difficult than it is with most other characters.

My game is always based on mix ups and heavy combo punishes. Some of my friends mockingly call me combo master.

Just playing consistently, although the year ahead sure looks like I'll have to make the time.
^^ This. I want to work on getting as much MU exposure I possibly can, and dedicate more time and $ if I want to consider myself a legitimate player.

Dedication, and creating content. I want to stream as much as possible for MKX, and do tutorials and collaborations for youtube with the community. I think the entire community missed an opportunity with MK9 AND Injustice, and want to at least say I tried for MKX. Not trying to get super popular or tons of followers/subscribers, I just want to give back to the community and create as much content for OUR community as possible.

As far as dedication, I have a pattern of hyping up myself with new fighters, only to lose interest within the first few months. Another reason I want to create content, more of an incentive to stick with the game.

As far as gameplay, I need to take it more seriously. Meaning, actually studying characters, frame data, match-ups, research, analyzing myself and other players, etc. I think my core gameplay and fundamentals are solid, but can be improved.

Just want to see a how you say it a "Filthy Casual" kick a top player's ass in a tourney so a top player can stop talking shit. Lol

What a day. What a lovely day.
I need to work on my fear of pressing buttons and my reluctance to act upon reads. If I worked those things out I think my play would be a lot more solid.

My biggest weaknesses right now:

1. I like to push buttons....a lot, which makes my defense questionable at times. I attribute this to arrow a great deal because oki on him during wakeup is basically a coinflip for a lot of characters between slide and savage blast and savage blast is really really good for getting out of pressure and maintaining space against a lot of characters. This is the biggest reasons my Aquaman is a huge bill of goods I think.

2. What be hit confirming? I'm not sure if I attribute this to my shit reflexes or what but I barely even understand how people can actually react to their jab or whatever on hit or block.

3. Whiff punishing: this is one I really need to be doing a lot more. I know that this one is preemptive and not reactionary, but it is something I should be thinking about a lot more.

My solution to these issues: Ultra Street Fighter IV Ryu from now until MKX drops. I still love injustice to death and its naysayers can suck it....but while I feel the first item can be learned with a number of injustice characters....I feel like 3 and especially 2 I will learn a lot more of in Ultra.

Zoning Master
Martian Manhunter players will have to learn how to close the gap on zoning instead of relying on a safe overhead teleport with the splash hitbox of a hand grenade.

The community knows that Flash players' defensive abilities are equivalent to a scrub's on XBL ranked. The problem is that Flash players mash forward dash and only use the block button about half the time. They will have to learn how to use the block button at all times in Mortal Kombat X if they intend to win.

Batgirl players have always claimed that Batgirl has a "difficult neutral game", which is the biggest bill that the NRS community has ever been sold considering that the risk/reward ratio is vastly in Batgirl's favor. While they will fail because they have no fundamentals, Batgirl players will have to learn how to play footsies and win without a safe vortex that loops.

Remember how reliable anti-aerial attacks were in Mortal Kombat 9? Sinestro players will have to be reminded. They spam aerial axe and jump like kangaroos when you are zoning them.

Zod players cant backdash 233243543544 times
It's no good shitting on other players when you have clear weaknesses as well.

punishes and execution. my execution in MK9 was good but the stuff i drop in injustice costs me so many matches... and also punishes, whats that? only the easiest.

CORN | gpmoney. Saltier than a bag of chips.
I gotta work making people salty more. :DOGE whats the point in winning if your opponent isn't a salty fucker when you are done. If they shake your hand and say gg then you failed.

this was for you own personal weaknesses, not to generalize character mains because apparently according to you Zoners/Zod players look like this

everyone else....

Gunslinger since pre patch (sh/out to The Farmer)
I want to work on my patience, I always just want to be in on the opponent but because I'm not patient enough it costs me sometimes.

Nice evidence you've got with your claims there...

not.

Meta saltmine
My main weakness is sitting in training mode and then not playing the damn game.
When I get over that, I can talk about other ones that will definitely emerge :p

Closing the gap on zod isn't the issue, the issue is if you don't get inquickly he gets free press b to win and get free mixups button.

Personally I think my problem is laziness, my practice isn't organized enough. I need to plan everything and master punishment and metaspecific things regardless of loss, that's why I am writing things down and organize my plan for improvement.

And for those of you who think their reactions "suck" it's typically not the case. It's about fear and not training yourself to react do it becomes a habit. You don't just magically have fast reactions its practiced until it becomes instinctual.

Operating under false pretense that mkx will require great footsies, have good zoning, and reliable anti airs

I play defense too much in every FG, but I've been grinding out Ultra since it came out and I'm just now starting to get good tendencies together. I'm learning to play footsies, when to move forward, how to feel the game and not just approach it with my own agenda, so hopefully in MKX when I get a fresh start I will take advantage and tighten up my offense and reads.

My main issue in SF and in IGAU was matchups. I didn't learn them right, I didn't lab them right, I didn't know what I was looking for, and I expected to do ok just on the merit of playing Zod and being able to do IAZBs, lol...obviously in tournament this never worked out for me and the best I ever did was place 9th in like a 30-man tourney. In MKX I will grind out every MU and just play as much as I can. I realized you actually have to work hard if you want to win and I did not play IGAU like someone who wanted to win.
