Thats why they call this thing bloodsport, kid.
There will be plenty of hype to be had, dont worry. We havent even seen half of the cast yet, thats a ton of characters and variation possibilities they have up their sleeve. Not to mention the game doesnt even really take shape til a few weeks after the top players get their hands on it. thats when the real combos, tech, playstyles etc come out to play.

As a sidenote, I cant get over how awesome the character models are. Just look at sub zero and scorpion...never seen such bad ass models in a game maybe ever.

If you're worried about "true" rushdown characters in the game, there are no true anything characters in this game.

There are however variations that cover specific play styles.

As far as rushdown is concerned they revealed multiple rushdown characters so far:

Assassin Kitana, Displacer Raiden, Cut-Throat Kano, Lackey Torr, Ninjitsu Scorpion, Cryomancer Subzero, Brawler Cassie Cage, Venomous D'Vorah, Buzzsaw Kung Lao.

That's not even half of the roster.

Be sure that out of all of those, plus whoever we see when the whole cast is out, there'll be somebody(or more) for you.


Actually no, Reptile could definitely be considered full rushdown.

Hopefully you aren't making this assessment off of the gameplay footage we've seen so far. They're purposefully not showing off anything flashy so that we can figure it out when the game releases. My best advice is pick which character whose story or looks you like the most, start there... and once you figure out how the characters play... pick your main. If your pre-selected character doesn't end up being your main, at least it wasn't time wasted and you were still able to work on game mechanics.

I'm not, and I know they aren't showing certain thing but they just don't appeal or speak to me. I have high hopes for Goro being what I want in a character but only time will tell.

Well then unfortunately you may not have all the fun with MKX as the rest of us I'm afraid. While the game has "wow"ed us beyond expectation you are left underwhelmed for some reason. That's too bad because more than 30 variations have already been revealed, many of which are incredible and covers the rush-down archetype. But if that hasn't got you going then there's a chance nothing will.

As much as I may be excited for these characters and their variations...I do have to agree with you. I like Sub and Goro is going to be fun, but I'm not really stuck on any character except for Havik. Aside from him I'm going to try everyone and see who I like the best.

Although my plan is to have one pocket top tier character and I certainly must have a troll character to have fun with. Sheeva was my troll character, and I've had the fortune of be a day 1 accidental top tier whore lol.

Goro and Sub are certain, but if any other characters flow with me then they're going to be main locked. Although I do want to have a strong female character because I like females and need a strong Harem.

I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I havent really seen any character that jumps out at me, but it does depend on the normals. In IGAU I thought I would be a Batman main because I love the character, but his normals weren't great. I ended up going for Aquaman because his entire move set was great. Never looked back.

I have no character loyalty in MK, I love all the characters. Goro though....fucking Goro...please have good normals.

As for mkx, how in the hell can you not be hype? This seems like the most rushdown oriented one yet, also the fastest since mk4

Not true at all, Seeing a tease of a variation doesn't mean I will not have fun with the game, especially when the game has not been shown or released.

I am VERY excited for Goro and I really hope he is another Johnny Cage like character. I will feel this way until I get my hands on the game.

I am jumping on the "broken raiden" bandwagon and maining him.

He went low and all the stuff he has was forgotten and shadowed by the new releases, but just remember this:

- raiden could mb stop his projectile in air way before reptile
- raiden has full body blast that can juggle = kung lao spin, only better
- raiden has flash upper head + mb safety
- raiden has that teleport - no comment
- raiden has superman, enjoy jumping
- raiden has the kitchen sink
