What if certain characters had useless variations?

What should be done about a significantly weaker variation to the other two or has awful match ups

  • Redesign variation completely

ITs simple each Char has 3 variation if 1 is not good, but you still like the character then EASY pick another variation, in my case I like 2 of Kitanas variations the assassin and the unmasked ones, both seem to be very good, the Jade one not so much.

Well, actually NRS tried to provide us the way to use invis in MK9 by adding projectile invincible frames to it (partial wowout so to speak), but apparently that wasn't enough. Figures. But who knows what NRS has this time.
For the record, there's an instance of invisibility done right. Chipp from GG has pulsating invisibility which is amazing for mindfuckery. But then again, this is a character with several teleports and triple jump in a back2block game with 2-frames tech window throws IIRC... Point being, there must be a synergy for invis to be worth it. Then we had Ares that apparently can incorporate invisibility in his plan, but it had synergy with his mixup game too.
So we'll see.
Indeed. Until we knows the data on Reptile's core tools, how they sync, and the exact parameters of his Invisibility options, then calling it useless is utter nonsense. Now, I can certainly called the Deceptive Reptile portion of the KombatKast useless. That "gameplay" gave us almost no info on how D. Reptile functions. Should've had Pako in there.

People seem to forget that Kitana keeps her universals in Mournful. Those universals PLUS the glaive options alone- that's potentially huge.

I just hope the community gives all the variations a try, each one is bound to have something to be found down the line.

Well from what we saw, she keeps her normals, she doenst have any fans, she throws Jades projectiles, has Jades shadow kick and her staff grab, Im not hating, just her other 2 mods seem better: a zoning/anty zoning Kitana, and the assassin Kitana, both very good.

Reach is a mystery but thunder God supposedly gives 'enhanced lightning'. Maybe a projectile buff I don't remember.
I don't remember for sure, but IIRC TG icon shows Raiden with stopped projectile. Maybe his ability to stop it Reptile-style is actually TG-exclusive. Kinda strange, but whatever.

Anyways, it'd better be good. Unknown purpose of staff grab and MBs of it and air glaive that don't seem to do anything very useful don't make me confident thus far, plus there's flash kick vs command dash...

Speaking of MB'ing stuff, I'm very worried that we are getting just additional damage on many MB moves again. Damage difference better be good and that Superman MB better allow some setups because 5%+3% damage is, um, underwhelming.

I asked Rigo on Twitter about what universals she keeps in "Mournful", what she looses, and what gets altered. He said that he would give me a complete answer on Tuesday, when he gets back to the office.

I was thinking that it's to give corner lockdown or something like that on top of it. If normals are the same and there are some mixups Raiden can use, then MoS will benefit the most from this situation, and I take you can still wallcarry decently with superman. Setting traps up though... Eh. Even then, ball lightning brake may be universal (or available to TG)...
Can you activate just one trap with MoS, and can you place one at range (like, is there "close" and "far" versions besides "above" one)?
I don't remember a far "trap" input...

Paulo confirmed on Twitter that Kitana keeps her Upcutter and Fan lift in "Mournful", and the other specials are replaced with Glaive, Kick and Staff specials. Can't wait to lab this shit.

I'm fairly interested too. As I've probably said already, I'm curious about certain Ex moves selling points of which aren't obvious. I can only try to guess about them. So happens that staff grab and air glaive are among those.

I've liked pretty much everything I've seen from MKX characters so far, but Kitana's variations intrigue me the most.
