I totally understand them not answering anything related to the story or remaining cast, but questions pertaining to online play, the possibility of cross-generational console play, and details on a character they already announced and designated as the most prominent prize for those who choose to pay them money before the game even comes out, are very reasonable. You are probably right that they still won't answer any of them, but I'm just pointing out that they wouldn't be spoiling anything by answering questions on any of those three topics.

Also, is there a way to "turn off" the cosmetic difference in the variations? Like, taking the spikes from Lao's hat, or the ice mask from Unbreakable SZ?

Would they say most returning characters have one variation that is somewhat of an evolution to their playstile in MK9, as we saw we Reptile, or was their playstile (Not special moves, but playstyle) in MK9 not taking in consideration when desining them for MKX?

No, to the cosmetics, they said that was a deliberate choice to make it evident which variations are in play. They also said variations are a way for them to experiment with concepts and ideas for characters that might have been redundant or impossible in conjunction with their other tools. I don't think any consideration has been made for preserving MK9 style Reptile, or MK9 style Scorpion.

I'm not saying they aren't reasonable questions, I'm saying Tyler and whoever else puts these together doesn't get to decide that now is a good time to answer it. There's a whole marketing dept whose sole job is to decide that.

FYI to people asking about cross generational console play, In Perfect Legends stream a while back I asked Paulo if the frame rate, patches, gameplay and execution for the PS3 and 360 version would be the same as next gen versions (since they already confirmed the last gen ports are being outsourced by NRS). I asked this to know if I could train on ps3 and be able to make seamless transition to next gen (for tournaments) since I dont own next gen.

Paulo said " he cannot confirm the answer to those questions at this time" which kinda scares me regarding the last gen ports.

Im praying they are the same exact Frame Rate, gameplay and patch support just with less polished graphics but it sounds like nrs is not sure since they are being outsourced. ..

Can we get a breakdown of normals/variations for Cassie and Kung Lao please?
Are all anti air uppercuts comboable like in the Reptile reveal?
and most importantly, will PS4 MKX be region locked?

Tyler already told, technical questions like frame data, hitboxes executions aren't from the mass, do not ask those.
they won't talk about un revealed characters or DLCs or characters to be revealed (this might include goro if he is not in the select screen for today).
I think they won't talk about online mode or training mode either, not sure, but i don't think the stream will run to over two hours, or maybe one and half.
The idea of having a NRS stream today is probably with the sole purpose of showcasing things we couldn't see ever since we learned KL was to be revealed, so i highly doubt the topic will steer away from characters and its variations.
Yet you scroll trough the all 5 pages and this is basically all you see.

I'm already regretting this thread.

Well, they aren't making it, so how would they know? Also, the answer is no.

LBSH, the same thing is going on at mko, trmk, kamidogu, you name it right now. NRS knows their fanbase, that's why Boon just posted a picture of a bowl of macaroni and is probably laughing his ass off at all the insane replies.

The good news is, somebody new is going to get revealed, and we're going to get a good solid thirty minutes of attention on Kitana, Kung Lao, Reptile, and #4. Just take what we can get.

My question:

Since watching Reptile/Kung Lao and seeing Kung Lao actually drops his hat when he loses so it doesn't affect the fatality animation; why can't they do the same thing with all hats, weapons and armor that characters have but magically disappears once they lose? (Raiden's hat, Kotal Kahn sword/dragon armor, etc...)

It's annoying to me at least, since the rest of the game looks so good and polished. Sorry.

How do you know?

NRS is "making" it and their name will still be on it, they just outsourced the port work. But that company still has to answer to nrs and their standards of quality for the port. So realistically the answer shouldn't be "no"

What do you know about standards of quality, exactly? How do you know what's realistic?
