Mileena & Shang Tsung Rumoured in In-store GameStop Promo Video

Could the revealed picture (the bow?) be Shang Tsung with a staff?

What if Quan Chi and Shang Tsung betray Shinnok. QC takes the amulet and Shang Tsung takes the amulet-staff wich belongs to Shinnok and they actually form the deadly alliance.

I get the love for returning characters but I really am dying to see some new ones. Have not had any since initial trailers

Actually the hand in the picture with that bow ,staff, or whatever does look like Shang's :///

Just like 4 out of the 8 they introduced already? Out of a 30 character roster?
They had 8 "introduced" like a week into the release. Now they have 8 returning. So yeah, pardon me if I thought the legion of the dead meant that we might get more than a pittance of new character and a shit ton of old ones (that honestly should still be dead)

New:
Kotal
Ferra
Cassie
D'Vorah

Old:
Sub
Scorp
Quan
Goro
Kung
Kitana
Kano
Raiden

War God
Not a huge fan of Mileena but Shang Tsung is one of the coolest villains and needs to be in the game. Although, I thought I saw his statue on one of the new stages from the last video, so that would be weird to have him playable in front of a statue of himself?

Gamestop has credibility on this info since they are working with WB on the Goro pre-order bonus. I believe it's true unless they just messed up and got their facts completely wrong on 2 of the 3 characters they mentioned to be in the game.
Goro isn't a gamestop exclusive, he's available if you preorder like everywhere.

For all these people complaining about returning dead characters...

If you paid attention to the Quan Chi reveal trailer, it mentions him resurrecting fallen Earthrealm warriors to fight on his behalf.

He is literally a necromancer. He brought Sindel back, from a skeleton, by waving his hands.

So can we put this tired talking point to rest and be positive about the game?

Does it really matter if characters come back from the dead? geez it's MK. this is happening since for ever.
Also, what do you expect? Do you really think their most ambitious game won't include such icons like Kitana, Lao, Shang etc.? come on.
Some people think evolution can only come by including only new characters, or get rid of the block button. ffs

It's not about that. There's a unified sigh because we were told we were getting more new stuff than ever before and yet they're bringing back a bunch of MK9 characters, some of which were killed off and until the game comes out or their presence is explained otherwise there is no good reason for them to be back and taking up spots that could be filled by more requested characters or new, interesting characters.

roughly half the cast has been revealed. Could it be that they're saving the new characters for release, banking on name recognition such as Kung Lao and Raiden for pre-game hype?

Even so, the overreaction and general tearing are absolutely disgusting. None of us have the full roster in front of us, so we don't know HOW many new faces we're getting. Why must people overreact and knee-jerk react to everything without all of the facts? No one knows yet, so everyone is basically talking out of their ass. People act as though NRS has lied to them somehow, when they simply haven't.

But if you're going to create new characters then surely you want to give them a backstory and allow a fanbase to be created? I mean look at all the people just on here saying they're up for playing the new characters and are carrying a new character's variation banner. I'm sure the casuals are fine with the new characters too, even if they still want their favourite in. They don't know that they don't want the new characters, they probably haven't seen most of them yet.

I think it's better for them to go into the game and find their favourite at the character select, even though they're trailerless, as they still have their backstory and the person is excited to find them there and play them, but if you leave new characters to the character select then it's just like "oh who's this? I don't know them I'll just leave it and play someone I know."

As far as what NRS have said, technically they kind of have lied. If they say they're introducing as much new stuff as possible but bring back dead characters from MK9 and the MK9 characters revealed make up maybe more than 1/4 of the entire roster then they haven't introduced as much new stuff as possible.

xenogorgeous

.... they mostly come at night. Mostly.

sure they did .... could be that was a initial idea filling the roster with new faces, but, too risky at business point, so, maybe they cut a lot of ideias in the draw board, and are going in the safe-and-security direction : 4:1 or 5:1 ratio between old school and new chars ....

No, they haven't lied. We haven't seen the entire roster. So as far as the entirety of the game goes, they probably HAVE introduced a lot of new things, we just don't get the benefit of seeing it all before hand. You're making wild assertions without all of the facts.

Your example is also piss-poor. What if they reveal new characters prerelease and people say, "Man, this character looks hella dumb. I really wish Kung Lao was in the game. I don't like these new characters at all." You do realize that for everyone that rocks a Ferra/Tor variation to use the example you provided, you have just as many people who simply don't like her at all.

Hell, look at all the negative feedback Cassie Cage has received. Everything from her neck length to her facial model has been heavily criticized. Now, what seems like a more SAFE bet? Generating hype with a handful of new faces and mostly recognizable ones with established fanbases, or revealing nothing but new characters that are polarizing at best?

That same person who says, "Who is this? I don't know them I'll just leave it and play someone I know," is the exact same person who could have the same reaction to a reveal trailer. Remember, in variation trailers we know very, very little about what is actually happening in the storylines of those characters. Hell, we don't even know what the significance is of Quan Chi's skull or why Kung Lao is alive. Or where Ferra/Tor comes from. Or how Kotal temporarily ruled Outworld. So its not like you're given enough depth to make an informed decision in a three minute trailer anyway. That is what story mode is for, which a lot of people(casual and "tournament player" alike)will play.

Everyone needs to calm the hell down, is what I'm saying. Be patient. Stop complaining.

Yes they have, I don't understand how you're not getting this. The facts are right there. If they were introducing as much new stuff as possible there wouldn't be so many old characters coming back. I'm asserting this because it's true. As much new stuff as possible != 1/4 of the roster being old characters. Stuff = characters, modes, story, costumes, everything. I agree that in terms of ALL of the things in the game a lot of it is new, but it's not as much new stuff as possible.

The criticism of Cassie Cage wasn't to do with her character, it was to do with her model. Speaking of "piss-poor" examples...

Eh? In all the reveal/variation trailers/videos released so far they've talked about the backstory of the new characters at least a little so we get to understand them a little more. I don't think anyone can say we don't know anything about the new characters we've seen so far:
Cassie: daughter of Johnny and Sonya (this might not be the best example though because she's kind of relying on the whole relative of a past kombatant thing), moveset based on Johnny and Sonya's moves as well as other new moves.
D'Vorah: controls bugs, has ovipositors which she can use to attack, of an old race whose planet was overtaken by Outworld, servant to Kotal.
Kotal Kahn: new emperor of Outworld, unrelated to Shao Kahn, has abilities enhanced by cutting himself (jeez this kind of sends a bit of a message lmao) and with totems or by drinking blood.
Ferra/Torr: Outworld inhabitants, small woman who can be thrown by Torr and is friends with Torr, not very friendly with some of the cast like Raiden.

I do agree that people should stop complaining as much if the character they want doesn't get revealed or they're not of a certain gender or whatever, I was just explaining why they were complaining.

I hope we have an MKX Mileena reveal like this one for MK9 2011!

I wonder what happened to her original X-Ray
