MKX Comic Plot Discussion & Speculation Thread

Also, according to wikias and stuff, there isn't any 3rd brother. They only have a sister
25 years is a pretty long time to discover and build up a third brother plot wise, its not like it was ever said they didn't have a 3rd brother. Only that they were kidnapped and forced into the Lin Kuei as children. Hell, Kenshi didn't have a kid until tuesday and now it looks like he may be a new major player.

i cant help but think the Netherrealm war is referring to a jail break of sorts. it would explain how some warriors like Kung Lao were brought back. the Netherealm is more like Hades than Hell meaning you can get back to the other realms it's just really difficult.
Same theory I had. We can infer that Shinnok and the Brotherhood of Shadow lost the Netherrealm war, so that can explain how these characters are alive.

Interrealm travel is supposed to be impossible in general. Netherrealm has the extra requirement that you have to be either dead or innately evil to go there and even if you leave, you're stained forever. Portals exist but MKDA and MKSM say only the gods and sorcerors (Shang, Quan) know of and can use them. Shujinko was given the ability by Damashi. So its probably a situation where Shinnok led an assault of some sort and only he got sent back.

Didn't Earthrealm build a portal to explore the other realms?

You forget that Kenshi wasn't involved in MK9's story, just a playable character. All the evidence we have from NRS so far points to it being Kuai Liang IMO.

Well even in the previous timeline, there was never any mention of Kenshi having a son, taking a woman, or even doubling in the red dragon, all that was said before MKDA is that he was a solitary swordsman who got duped by Shang. Deception added the part where he was trying to participate in MK1 but missed the boat, which mk9 sort of corroborates, since he's there in the beginning.

It's known that he worked for SF, but there was never any record of what he did or why. Only that he was using them to get to Outworld to get closer to Shang Tsung. Deception says he never found Shang and got torn apart by Mavado who he'd sent to handle it as a test of his ability, not that they had any particular backstory. Even after his recovery, he never went back to the special forces or harbored any malice toward Red Dragon. He turned down membership in the Lin Kuei, wandered the earth, and ultimately sided with Johnny Cage at the pyramid.

well, assuming that still happened, the part where hsu hao trashed it probably happened too.
It is kind of weird. The Red Dragon in the OG timeline didn't make there presence known to the Special Forces until after/during the Deception arch, though they were making moves way before then. I'm guessing that the RD moved early in this new timeline as directed by Daegon in Shinnok's war. I think it is kind of cool that before the RD infiltrated the SF, but now it is the other way around (at least as far as we know).

Actually, if you read MKDA's Konquest Mode it explains that Kenshi the SF to search for Cyrax. It also says Shang Tsung tasked Mavado with finding the Earthrealm spy, and it was revealed to be Kenshi. However, lets not forget that this is the MK9 timeline.

Read Kenshi's and Mavado's Konquest story for the info.

Armageddon says The Red Dragon have been making moves forever, but they've been pinning it all on the Black Dragon, who were happy to take the noteriety. In the new timeline, it doesn't even seem like the Black Dragon are a thing or maybe with Kano never returning from Outworld, they died out a lot faster.

Possibly. I wonder what Jarek is up to? As well as Tremor (I do hope they bring him back). Honestly, at the end of the day I like the RD better than the BD anyway, just for the fact that they are more organized, and seemingly far more dangerous. I want to see Mavado be the badass he is suppose to be, and maybe we can even see him square off with Kano for real, and then we'll see what Kano is really made of, on top of seeing how much more skilled Mavado is supposed to be.

About the BD taking credit for the RD...where was that again? I haven't read that info in a while.

good point. However before the kidnap retcon, it was stated that the SZ Family were 2 bros, one sister, an american mom and a chinese dad

If any part of special forces is canon (I can't see why not), Tremor's dead as is everyone who isn't Jarek and Kano. MK9 acknowledges that Kabal's been playing cop for a while (and he died), so without Kano to carry the torch I can't imagine Jarek did anything. He only came out of hiding because Sonya had nothing better to do after MK3.

It's in the dialogue to MKA's konquest somewhere. I took a glance but couldn't find any faqs that have it all recorded.

Oh man, I am going to be SOOOOOOO pissed if Frost just shows up as a jobber enemy just to get bodied in the comic.

I'd rather they just ignore her rather than have her get the Hsu-Hao treatment and be exempt from a spot on the roster. I'm already starting to get upset just by thinking about it.
Shawn mentioned about these comics having a fatality at every issue or something, i too don't like where this is going, i get that some characters are unpopular, but they have their fanbases nontheless, it's better to leave them alone than spit on them, but, there is some strong bias within people responsible for MK in general as far as i can notice, otherwise we wouldn't see Scorpion beating Sub-Zero at every cinematic.

I particurlaly like some characters from DA/Deception era, but can already see some of them getting bad treatment( i hope i'm wrong).
