Tony at Home I see your logic but let us take this a step by step. First lets look at the most recent entries MK9 and SF4, now both were multiplatform games, they sold very competitively and while i am not sure who sold more, I remember both being around the 3.5 Million to 4 Million mark. Let us say that MK9 sold more. Could you explain to me why SF4 had a 2000+ entry at EVO while MK9 wasn't an official game. Can you explain why SF4 almost alway double the MK9 or Injustice if not triple the turnout to all tournaments.
I will tell you, The reason is that the SF community lineage is 20+ years old, years and years and years of tournaments. The thousands and thousands around the world that has been playing SF even before there was a Playstation or Xbox. Do you really think that this community won't support SF5 because it is PS4 console exclusive ? You can get it on PC as well.
The cross-play will mean THE Largest online community for a fighting game of all time.
MKX will be on 5 different platforms. There is no doubt it will sell more, absolutely. The question is what does that benefit me as a player ? 5 different platforms means small and niche online communities like Injustice EU PS3 is at the moment. It is best for business but I doubt it is best for the serious player.
I am sorry but if SF V was on the original
wii only title, it would have still been the number 1 game in the FGC. That is just how it is.
Yes I am a SF fan and Yes I am a MK fan and I am getting both but to say that MK will be the FGC number 1 game over SF isn't happening any time soon and THAT is what i care about honestly. Not how much Capcom or WB makes
