Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Yeah, there's alot of stuff to do, but the only campaign that received a massively noticeable graphic update (given Halo CE already got an anniversary edition) is Halo 2, and this is the shortest campaign of the series. It was literally cut in half to make the release date.

Halo 3 REALLY needed to get some attention in this package. It probably had one of the better campaigns of the series and would've done more to tie me over if it had been improved.

The least they could have done was fix the game's gun sounds like they did with Halo 2.

I felt like Halo 4's campaign was the best

I didnt' feel like I was always just running into a room shooting mass spawns.

Halo 4's campaign is probably the best.

But the original campaign is my favorite just because it brings back memories of running through it a hundred times as a kid and still having it memorized.

Halo 2's campaign has always confused the hell out of me but the remaster is hard to dislike. Especially those cinematics.

This guy has a really good guide on how to beat each individual level on legendary. Actually gets down to the details and is specific about it- rather than just throwing up a gameplay video like most "walkthroughs" do.

It taught me some good tactics, especially the Halo 2 one because that campaign is BULLCRAP on legendary. One method- arming your fellow marines with beam rifles to get an unlimited-ammo sniper squad with you

New patch coming out today. Lets hope this will make the game atleast playable.

How is matchmaking running for you guys?

Had my hands full with GTA V last yesterday.
Which is stunning on next gen btw. Highly recommend.

Matchmaking is still a steaming pile of shit and is really a good representation of the quality games 343 make and manage. This was the game to tide fans over while 343 continued to butcher the franchise, yet we continue to get the shaft.

I'd cash the game in had I not went digital.

See I disagree. I think 343 makes good games. Their execution right now just blows. I thought the original anniversary, h2 anniversary, and H4 were all solid piece of work. Which is why it's such a shame that they can't get their online matchmaking shit correct.

H4 multiplayer launched without much issue. Nothing comparable to this.

343 does good work. It's obvious Microsoft wanted them to rush out this project before it was done.

As for matchmaking, it's clear they are fixing it step by step. Getting into games actually works now, and I've had no trouble doing so. The problem is when lobbies go from one game to another. So far every time I've gotten into a game lobby, after the first game we were all disconnected and had to go matchmaking for another lobby.

so the patch fixed the actual "searching for players" step, but they still need to fix how lobbies actually work, and ensure you are able to do multiple games with a single group. This still doesn't work.

Still ticked that I don't have a way to get into a pure Halo CE matchmaking playlist, and probably won't have a way to do this until it's completely fixed.

Matchmaking still has a lot of problems. I'll just be playing customs and other games until it's all fixed.

I'm getting games much faster now but its still broken and my rank got reset twice.

343 only really worked on Halo 4 (widely acknowledged as trash however that game worked). Both Anniversarys were outsourced to other studios with 343 taking an overseeing role.

What pisses me off is that the collection was completely outsourced to other studios. All 343 had to do was develop a UI across all games and set up matchmaking. So yes, their execution is very off the mark.

1. This is debatable. I'd consider that more of your personal opinion than an absolute. The game was received fairly well by fans and critics. I know it has it's hardcore critics as well though.

Not sure about that. Mentioning Halo 4 in any media site really draws out a lot of hate. Even the Waypoint forums of all places dislikes. I don't pay attention to critics since their opinions on pretty much anything are terrible.

I just really hate 343 at the moment since I'm left talking about Halo 4 right now rather than being able to play some fucking Slayer on Turf.

Halo 4 was indeed trash. It didnt last long, and this game wont last long either if they dont fix this crap asap.
