Taking on extremely difficult match-ups all the way up the bracket and never straying from his main; Pnut showcased masterful zoning, brave trait charges, solid mind games, and overall fundamentally sound gameplay.

- Dark55’s Lobo almost takes out Mattix in a close 2-1 set

- Zen Lazzlo finally negated his Lantern kryptonite giving OFIDYAN his first loss in the tournament and tied with KH Royale for 5th Place

- RexyWrecks showed incredible talent with his Superman beating Mattix 2-0 and with a magic pixel takes out OFIDYAN to get into Loser’s Finals!

- Greguu’s Wonder Woman leveled up tremendously and he worked his way into Grand Finals

- OFIDYAN overcame all GOTS members including Cyborg, one of Green Lantern’s hardest match-ups; he also scrubbed it out with Doomsday vs Manhunter

- Dallas had more players in Top 8 than ever before! Lets go North Texas! DFW! Lone Star Prime!



Sorry Moments

- Versus Gameplay had a difficult time with Injustice

- They had only one patched console at the start of the tournament

- No stream was provided by Salty Mayhem as scheduled; the Absolute Battle/Versus Gameplay staff seem to have animosity towards Injustice players

- For some reason sets were ruled best of 3 until finals even though we would’ve easily finished in time, I was home by 10pm.. wow

- Grand Finals was recorded on my phone, very professional no doubt

- $50 entry fee and no stream yeah real tight

Really nice Sinestro play. Looks like Greguu was getting mad flustered in GF, though. Glad someone was able to record this, even via phone--but I'd have had to put headphones on. I can't play with someone commentating (albeit, good commentary) in my ears lol.

interesting, ive dealt with this TO quite a bit, hes always been really cool with the MK guys. im thoroughly surprised there wasnt any stream time....

I haven't been in the TX tournament scene for long (since I lived in Orlando for the past 3 years) but I do know the group that knows how to run it right here is the UCC/Texas Bar Fights guys. D-Town Beatdowns are a joke compared to TBF.

btw idk if this is just me since i see a lot of players don't have a problem with this but does anybody else find it hard to play when someone is commentating right behind you? i really hope its just me lol it sucks because i think it makes the videos way better. good shit getting what you could recorded. streaming schedules always get all sorts of fucked up. some people pay no mind to what they are actually supposed to stream, but im happy that its happening less and less these days. i wish it could be as easy as just bringing your own stream setup and doing it yourself but venue wifi is always a dick and 4g is way too expensive for most people.

well ive been to both venues several times and a couple out of state. UCC is pretty good, but AB is just bigger and better. i would heavily favor the AB/D-Town beatdown guys if i hadnt heard about the dilemma you guys had

I just think for the price there should be half naked women tossing drinks at you, and full stream time and hype. I manage this with a 10$ venue. But also I am spoiled with my venue, this place looks dope as hell, just wondering if it was worth the bang for the buck you know. Love the lights!

Reggie is actually very reasonable. I don't know exactly how much stream time we were supposed to receive but I think part of it was due to the tournament proceeding much quicker than they expected. Reggie wasn't really managing our brackets, it was the other guy, don't know his name, but he seemed pretty confused about everything. Matt and Reggie should've been notified because they try to please everyone. Only actual complaint I would have is how we had to update and all that crap before the tournament could begin.

I agree that reggie is a pretty cool dude, and I dont think it is fair to blame him for no stream time.

Not gonna lie, (most of) the streamers in the Dallas FGC just aren't very professional. I know these are different dudes than Boomgorillas but we always had issues with them as well. It sucks but I dont think you can blame the TOs since they are pretty much the only streamers.

Shoutouts to PandaXGaming for being the most professional streamer for Dallas tournaments. He's always been really good to us NRS folk especially.

yeah man, out of the idk, maybe 8 tournies ive attended since late 2012, ive only been to one event where MK got stream time, and that was only because the TO happened to be an MK player. boomgorillas hasnt streamed MK since like TBF9 or something (2012) even with moderately decent turnouts

There was one tourney in Texarkana(Regional championships or something like that) where they streamed MK over every other game. Granted we had the biggest turnout but it was still sweet. I wish I could remember who the TO was, because I remember he was a really nice guy. I believe Panda was the one streaming that as well.

Edit: The time that really ticked me off is when Boomgorillas promised a stream and then when we got to top 4 said we would have to wait two hours for Street Fighter to finish, so we ended up playing without a stream. That was the only time I made top 3 too
