No, decency was lost when everyone decided to sensationalize every last move of players and posters on the board. Even now your sarcasm in every post is very condescending. That is not meant as a callout, I am just speaking directly to you.
He always been this way imo not flaming just saying my opinion

Also this troll bait vote I want to vote but I can't pick what I want based in the original msg. Soooo in will vote now I support a good change :)

lol yeah "decency" was lost because players in the FGC were popping off on each other. Alert the media.
4 pages of being called irrelevant and useless to the community is a simple pop off? lol, well in that case........ time for me to go ham in some threads!

EDIT: But I am allowed to cross the line most of the time, as long people bitch when infractions occur. Or think that I am better than the guy I am ganking in lane right? Privileges

That's the problem though, this thing wasn't really about TYM specifically. I understand that I'm supposed to only use homophobic slurs on stream chats, that's fine. I just have a problem with people saying we have to pretend we like everyone in general. I don't really hate anyone but I still like seeing heated rivalries and stuff because it's fun and keeps things entertaining. Most people sort of like it lol. As far as forum stuff goes, I don't think it's out of line to call someone an idiot when it comes to discussion about the game. I agree you shouldn't take it too far, but people are wanting to push the line back too far to censor like normal arguments and prevent people from critiquing one another when that's a part of every competitive scene.
I agree about rivalries, and honestly how often do we really even warn someone for callin someone an idiot? Almost, maybe even actually never. We see new players get lambasted here just because they're new, and we don't infract that. I think people are pre-emptively assuming it will be like that, when in reality, it's not like that at all.

I'm gonna quote myself here:
Not everyone is going to get along. Our method of dealing with this is to generally ask another mod to deal with it or ask advice before potentially over moderating someone who we may not care for. Maybe not a perfect system, but it works for the most part.

Again, contrary to popular belief, though the mods may be mainly East Coast, we have mods and admins from all over the country. Krayzie is EGP, Blake is AK, I'm from NY... but the point is, we try to look past regional stuff because regional rivalries have existed forever. It's part of what makes this fun. NY Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys. Without those rivalries, the NFL's legacy wouldn't be what it is, and the same goes for the MKC. Without the rivalries, what fun would this all be? We, as mods embrace the different regions... however all regions have people who cross lines, and we still have jobs to do. Sucks when it's a well known face, but think about Lindsay Lohan. She may be who she is, but it doesn't mean that she should get away with things and the cops shouldn't do their jobs.

Hold on, who said anything about Pig going ham on you? That's a separate issue, and a different incident. I agree he went overboard. I was responding to the "decency" part, which I don't think was meant to describe one particular incident, but seemed to imply that there was a general lack of decency around these parts, which hyperbolic at best.

Do not touch me again.
If there are unclear expectations by the mods regarding appropriate language and the overall goal is to actually "protect the children" (paraphrasing @9.95 Phil's reasoning behind banning someone for an article by The Onion), why not just implement a site-wide profanity filter a la Something Awful that converts profanity and undesirable language into minced oaths. IMO this is an easy way to enforce rules like "don't use inappropriate language" in a consistent manner and lightens the load on the mods.

Another can of worms that needs to be addressed is the purpose of protecting the children for a video game series that is intended for adults. There's also the issue of the difference between pornography and erotica. Depictions of genitalia aren't defined as pornographic unless the intention is to cause sexual arousal.
