New Injustice/MK9/UMK:3 TE Stream Koming by R.E.O. - Now's your chance to play him again!

RM AtK!

aka - RM_AtK !
Kinda hard to notice that when your name is completely different on TYM!

When I say "play with", I mean frequently play with. Mike's the only guy I play whenever I'm on the game, everyone else is kinda hard to get games in with.
lolol :)

Without the success of mk1,2,3 you be playing strawberry short cake in candy land
It's crazy to me how much disrespect the classics get in our community by a lot of the newer players. And not only do the games receive disrespect, the players do as well. You will not see this in other communities, which is telling. Instead of respecting the roots and understanding the journey to get to where we are today, people choose to be ignorant and just bash for no reason or to just "troll".

Yeah, well it's up to the old school heads like you, Reo, and many others to show them and teach them the history. They may find it interesting

There is something you don't see in other communities, but it's not this. I have honestly thought that is has to be the only game where the older games' success is flouted more than anything. Guys like Alex Valle and Mike Watson, who were super top players in their heyday at their respective older games, do not constantly talk about ST and Alpha 2 or anything like that. They acknowledge them as games they played, and that's it. Mike Watson could care less about the newer games, but he's not constantly preaching the likes of his games over the new ones or anything like that, which, to me, is the big difference here.

I asked a player in my local scene, who was a legit top KI player, if he felt that the legacy of ki was built by players, and he said "No, that game sucks but it was awesome." To me, that's a very reasonable and probably accurate summation of a non nostalgic and non tunnel view of older games.

Further, I don't understand the references to disrespect. How is it disrespectful to not be aware of something that barely existed? People play umk3 or whatever and that's cool. Great. The problem is you guys don't want respect as in "it's cool that you play such an old goofy game," you guys want deference. Status only next to Wizard and The Cannons. If people were just upfront with what they want, then it would be different. But it's not "respect". Most people respect everyone, I think most people played the older games as children and fell in love. The fact of the matter is MK9 was big on its own accord in the competitive scene, and I very much doubt it had anything to do with the fanatics that played the older games, and everything to do with name value. It is, again, beyond cool that people had such passion for the games, but to expect people to slobber all over anything related to the older players is nonsensical.

Nope. Almost any time the classic MK games are brought up, a lot of the newer MK players attempt to degrade it for no apparent reason. And you cannot compare NRS to Capcom, community or game wise, they're completely different.

No one is preaching. Still having fun with a game, acknowledging how good it was and still is, and now getting hype for an update for the game that has been over a decade coming is a bad thing and deserves to be ridiculed? Makes sense...

I didn't start playing UMK3 until 2007, when it was released on XBL arcade. I'm not alone in this. There's only a handful of players who played it competitively before then. I never played UMK3 back when I was a kid, only MK2 and MKT, and so on. I first started playing it because I love MK and it was the only thing available for XBL as far as MK was concerned. After playing for months, I quickly realized how good the game was, and it evolved from there.

For some reason people want to believe the older games are bad, just because they're old and outdated. And maybe that's true a lot of the time, and even with games like MK1 and MK2 maybe don't hold up. But games like UMK3 and MKT do, whether anyone likes that or not.

Doesn't really matter though, you don't have to agree that the games are good or that they can compete with the newer games. But what you should do is have some moticome of respect for the roots of the NRS community and its games. Trashing the games, and players of the game, is not "respect" to me, maybe it's the new meta though, idk.

Yelling "get this game off the stream" in reference to UMK3 from an MK9 player, is disrespect. Typing in all caps on stream "THE CLASSIC MK GAMES SUCK, GET THIS SHIT OUTTA HERE, PLAY A RELEVANT GAME"... is disrespect. It's not that complicated, pretty simple actually. And before the "that's just stream monsters" excuse, it was from well known top players, consistently too.

No one is looking for "status", what are you even talking about? You seem to be drinking some sort of koolaid here. No one "expects people to slobber all over anything related to the older players", seriously. That doesn't even make any sense. Respect isn't that hard of a concept, one that clearly escapes you though.

XBONE has Master Chief Collection, it is factually and objectively superior until Bloodborne comes out. @R.E.O. doesn't believe me, and says FPS's suck and PS4 > XBONE.

REO hit his head or something.

Too bad The Last of Us is better than any exclusive on the Xbox/360/Xbox One.
