With Hanukkah just around the corner Saucy Jack decided to fully embrace his Jewish heritage and entered GBS as The Jew of Steel this week. This appeared to be a poor choice at the start of the night, as he was promptly sent to losers by Jeremiah's Doomsday off stream. Fighting off Rational Jim's atheist propaganda The Jew of Steel took inspiration from the classic 90's epic "The Death and Return of Superman" storyline and came back from his death at Doomie's hands more energized and powerful than ever. With one powerful Superman punch he blasted through the beginning of the losers bracket with quick 3-0 wins against McCutty, Hruza and Jim before earning a rematch with Jeremiah's ultimate Kryptonian weapon. The stage was set for a rematch from last week's encounter with Max, himself sent to losers by my Catwoman. It was an intense 3-2 but even with some incredible whiff punishing from Max the Jew of Steel was victorious. With the Queen of Crime sitting pretty in winners it would be a grueling slog to win the entire tournament. However showing good patience and some clutch play the Jew of Steel was able to reset the bracket and eventually win his 2nd GBS, ending Max and I's stranglehold on GBS season 5.
The big story from last week was the strong performance from N1k0lass. Unfortunately he was unable to repeat it as the God of War fell to Rational Jim and Dizzy. Alas, this is the nature of playing the god of bills. On the bright side the greek warrior did get to play some MK9 with Dizzy after the tournament.
The artist occasionally known as Donkey Disk returned again, perhaps signifying last week's appearance was a real return to the scene and not just a one off cameo. He stated off well with a win over McCutty's Harley and Shazam and an extremely close set with Selina before being eliminated by Jeremiah's Doomsday. Enraged by his loss Dizzy flipped over the table and demanded a Killer Instinct setup so he could show us "what happens in a game with footsies".
