A trainer for Destiny? Really?

As long as they're not in the crucible modding, I don't really care.

Also, I've never heard of the term "trainer" used to describe a modder. The only time I've heard "trainer" is with "Pokemon" before it.
It's not to describe a modder, it's a program that requires a modded console. You can't use it with a normal console.

It's like a trainer for Borderlands and other various games. You press a certain key (in this case, enter a number or series of numbers) and they enable whatever effect(s) are associated to that number. I don't know where the term "trainer" came from in regards to the program, however.

As long as they aren't in competitive multiplayer, there's really no reason to care. Doesn't interfere with anyone else.

In Borderlands people would duplicate items all the time. But no skin off my back. I'm generally only going to play with people who just want to have fun and are more interested in picking up loot on the way.

Same with Diablo 3... why am I supposed to care if other people duplicate items so long as I don't? Especially considering I don't play competitive pvp multiplayer.

I can understand that if you wait until AFTER you've done everything the game currently has to offer. But I doubt that would be the case with everyone that would use this. Y'know, start a fresh character and just breeze through everything.
Right I prefer to play without trainers and shit and I'm assuming you do to.

But I don't think that our preferred way of playing is the only way gamers should be allowed to play. Even in online games like this.

I understand getting mad about it in a primarily competitive game and reporting people so they don't body you free by cheating. But are we really going to act like Destiny is primarily a competitive game?

I forgot to touch base with @AK Juggs on that very same thing since he mentioned it.

What's stopping this from making its way into the Crucible? If the offsets are what's different, then that's the only thing stopping it for now. Once someone figures out the offsets to enable these features for the Crucible, that's gonna be it. Hell, it might work for PvP already for all we know.

I don't care what happens for offline/single player type stuff because it doesn't affect anyone else, just as you said. Dupers and all that in D3 and Borderlands never bothered me as I had the option of strictly playing with people that I know don't do it.

Not at all. The truth is, what's stopping them from bringing this to PvP instead of it being just PvE? That's why I suggested people report them for it and doubly so if they ever see this in PvP. That would ruin the game.

Rickyraws

This mean you don't like me?
People like @Rickyraws probably think I am using a trainer when I can have a full conversation with my wife not even paying much attention to the game and still put him in the ground in PVP.
Nope. They wonder how you could let people like @Rickyraws win a match where you literally had 5 seconds to do nothing and win. Then have to go back to the matchmaking lobby to switch game types because you just could not win when he isn't on your team thus preventing you from completing your win bounties.

Bungie does like to drop their banhammer on people

I would expect no less from them here as well.

I'm sure the forums over there are going ape shit batshit crazy over this..... i mean they lost their minds when someone glitched into the "dlc" areas.

I guess i'm with you though...... i don't see the fun in what that thing brings. Unless I CREATED the trainer, just seems like something lazy people do to be even more lazy.

You're not new to being ignorant, are you?

List me every game on the 360 that's online only that has a trainer.
TF2 (part of the Orange Box)
Left 4 Dead, i dunno if there was one for Left 4 Dead 2, but pretty much all the valve games had trainers

Left 4 Dead isn't online only, but I see your point.

But still, that's only two online only games on the 360 that have trainers that I now know of.

That's the point of people buying a bypass. They pay $40 or whatever the person selling them is asking for and it bypasses the ban. I don't know the full extent of how it works, however. I'm just going by what I'm reading on the forums that sparked all of this.

I wouldn't mind bringing one with me if all my friends/teammates are offline, and double teaming a weekly nightfall or something. But like I said, as long as they stay out of the competitive stuff, no harm no foul really.

I understand some people will be upset because they have to work hard on stuff like the raid, and these modders can just basically solo them, but half the fun is the journey and strategy in the raids and weekly nightfalls.

Agreed. In a purely offline environment (barring co-op), this would probably be pretty fun. I'm sure folks would enjoy steamrolling VoG just for fun due to any annoyances it caused beforehand.

But my main issue with this is the possibility of it bleeding into the competitive part of the game. I probably should have clarified on that point from the get-go.

While I can't stand the Crucible myself, I would hate for those who do enjoy it have their fun potentially ruined because of something like this.

Yeah, it comes down to ruining the experience for others. Even though the game is pretty casual and not like MLG competitive, multiplayer is multiplayer, and cheating is cheating.

Do nothing and win is the motto of The Crucible.
