Soooo your gain numbers make absolutly no sense.

Also some of your workouts are in the wrong muscle groups i.e pulldowns are for lats not triceps (unless you mean tricep pressdown) and dips are primarily used for chest.
Well he has said he's been out of lifting and he's getting back so attribute some to "newbie " gains , but i do agree overall these numbers seem like a stretch for a month.

That's what I meant hahaha and for dips everyone says tricep dips where I go so I just assumed that tbh

I wrestled for 6 years, played football for over 10, and I was weight training on and off for them. This isn't my first month ever at the gym, just first time back since I stopped sports.

I'm not questioning your ability to work out but from the numbers you posted you have SERIOUS imbalances.

For example I am 203 lbs and 8% body fat. I bench 245 for 5x5 (never heard of a 6x6 like you do) but I dumbell curl 40 lbs for 12x3 and barbell curl 80 lbs for 12x3 and I am very proportional.

When I look at your numbers you have major gaps between your row/curl/bench figuring your only 155 lbs. This tells me you are either using very poor form or are mistaken with your numbers.

Also to move up 80 lbs in bench press is either from a MAJOR form correction, steroids, or a lie. I work out extensivley and the most I have ever gained in a month was increasing my bench 10 lbs.

Also abs have little to do with muscle gain and everything to do with bodyfat.

It's all dependant on how your body is. I'm 5'8", 140-145lbs and was benching over 160 back in high school. I also ran around like a nut from birth to about age 17/18 when I graduated high school and became lazy. I also did Tae Kwon Do since the age of 7 and that helped me to build dense muscle as well. At the age of almost 26 and being physically inactive for the most part, its a big difference from then and now. Although I have recently started lifting again and feel the power of a thousand moons coming back to me. And even tho I got really strong and can feel myself getting stronger, I just can't gain muscle mass.

My metabolism is out of this world and if I don't eat relatively large meals every 2-3 hours, I feel like I'll die of hunger. I'm okay with where I'm at because I'm still really fast with my body movements (as far as fighing goes/MMA), but I hate not being able to bulk up and I know that mostly revolves around a specific diets. Anyways, good luck Soup and enjoy the beauty of, "Lifting things up and putting them down!" Lol.

For the bench, I started with 95lbs easily but I was also able to rep 135 @ 8x3. I was told to use the 95 because it had more reps so it would be better to use. If 135 is counted, that's still a 40lb increase, but I honestly didn't know 10lbs per week was that much. I was benching more than 175 when I was full into season

What on earth are treehuggers? I'd like to say I'm an intermediate level lifter but never heard of those before. And also what do you mean by barbell rows vs rows?

But good stuff man, consistency is key

My face while reading this.

Comparing him to you and telling him he either has form issues, is on steroids or is lying is a dickish thing to do.

Anyone who has just got back into the gym will have substantial gains at first. You have to know this as much as you say you workout.

First off there is no such thing as MASSIVE "noob gains." Yes a person will gain a little bit more over the span of a year but if you don't lift and get into the gym you don't magically get better results.

I was compairing him to me because he was claiming to be curling the same weight as me even though I have roughly 30 lbs more muscle.

Additionaly I was pointing out that an 80 lbs boost to bench press in bodybuilding is unheard of. Also to claim to put on 10 lbs of muscle in a month is impossible without steroids. A male with test levels in the 1000 range that lifts properly and is consuming enoufh calories will MAYBE put on 3 lbs of muscle.

very nice man. Some of your increases seem weird but maybe I'm reading it wrong. Just stay consistent and always have good form when you work out. Diet also helps. Body building.com has some good tips and what not too. For whatever your goals are.

I think those are chest flys. Kinda looking like your hugging a tree

Greetings, Mortal
You guys put way too much thought into this.

Just lift stuff and put it back down. And then lift it again. I'd wager I have some of the best arms on here, and my only secret is going 5 days a week ;).

True, he's asked me advice a few times about nutrition and supplementation. He's a good guy and in good shape but I think he travels so much that he can't be in the gym as much as I am. He did express to me that he wants to get in there more often. If I miss a day for whatever reason I get really upset
