What's new

General/Other - Quan Chi Quan Chi's variation descriptions - Sorcerer/Warlock/Summoner. Which dark side will you choose?

Sorcerer is going to be that 1 variation that's going to give people problems. Warlock seems cool and matchup specific for the most part. Summoner seems mysterious to me at the moment. Not to much info on that one. Im curious to see how this character will turn out.

deep trance, huh? i wish i new what it did that the regular one doesn't. and i hope warlock has more than 2 strings, 1 command normal, and 1 special move.

he needs it! lol just placeholders for sure. and yeah the bat seems lazy in terms of design. maybe it would seem more fresh if we didn't just have zod. it doesn't seem like any of his variations help against rushdown.

I look forward to the backpedaling when it turns out Summoner is top tier.

Armored circle may have some use against that, unless it only works against projectiles or something.

Also, the more I see, the more I think that we really need an option for 3-in-1.

going by the descriptions from nrs anyways, sorcerer is for defensive variations, warlock is for zoners, and summoner is for... additional pressure after combos?

i can think of a couple of scenarios for summoner , getting extra damage in combos and possibly some form of OTG
also i dont think its like zods wraith where it has a cooldown timer i think its summon-able whenever , so like anti air 2 , summon , continue combo ... i cant wait to try this character out!

I am really liking the Sorcerer Variation, I see it used loving the buffs forcing defensive characters to make a move but what i'm going to be worried about is, if Quan Chi will have any options against overly aggresive characters (i.e Johnny Cage or Kung Lao)

Really praying for some defensive options. I don't mean just wake up i mean before we are knocked down or before an opponent is in our space.

I want to love Warlock because it looks so visually appealing, but we need to have more info about it before it even looks viable. A command throw would definitely help but I know there is no info about that so far. Or maybe just a safer teleport would help, or more options on said teleport.

I thought of this as well. Imo he should have received a new "get off me" move. It would appear he would have a hard time getting people out of his face. I'm going to dabble with Sorceror after release so I'm hoping he's strong in this one.

Warlock looks like the most straight-forward so far. Summoner/Sorcerer seem like they need alot of setups in order to be effective. I'll be playing Warlock first.
