Some people can REALLY abuse Robo Smoke's invisibility, but it's not that common.
Oh, but that's totally @DWednesday :^)

On other note : I've been talking with a fiend about the video REO and Juggs did, and we both noticed that it's kind of pathetic seeing U Sub doing 40% dmg from a simple JK auto combo and then H Smoke doing 10 hit combo and doing around 30%+ dmg.

Like, you'd want to get some reward for doing a longer/harder combo but now it seems you get p much nothing.

It'd be an interesting addition to her mix ups and not easily avoidable by walking backwards or running forward and punishing as the regular Teleport Stomp. I would love to see Sheeva stomping on a ninja trying to teleport escape from the regular stomp lol.

I've been reading through the changelog, this thread, and watching the videos showcasing the changes. UMK3:TE is seriously making me want to play again. sheeva still punishes every backjump with her stomp when screen is stretched, and i wouldn't say it is easy to react on stomp unless it's spamed relentlessly

Where does Shang sit in the current? What is his gameplan besides turning into Kabal?

The little bit a saw i got that still better to always transform.
His best punish in an actual match was jabs into 2 fireballs.
Maybe is the lack of a fast move to punish.

Its not going to happen, but to be completely honest... I would so frigging love that haha.
Sometimes it really gets me how UMK3 is frustratingly sluggish and slow when in comparison to MKT (which I know its broken in many aspects).

Yeah, if the game speed could be increased to be a little faster, I'd be okay with that. I also would like slightly faster walk forward speed, and significantly faster walk back speed.

I'd be more interested in a fleshed out training mode than speed increases honestly.
That would be nice too. Even though they have cheats for one, one built into the rom somehow would be awesome. Especially if it's more than just the dummy character having infinite health.

Just got to test a new beta file with the new Shang Tsung. He's incredibly different... in an awesome way.


0:01 - 0:05 New pop up!

0:09 - 0:13 No more relaunch repeats? :eek:

0:20 - 0:24 Creating a summon frame trap full-screen using a combo from the pop up

0:27 - 0:35 Summons now hit low

1:07 -1:12 Going for a "free" morph after a combo while my opponent gets up and blocks due to fear of the summon frame trap

1:20 - 1:38 Exploring new morph combos and morph set ups with the pop up

1:47 - 2:36 Messing around with a new rush down frame trap after a pop up using a meaty summon


Other things on Shang I've noticed:

- Morph recovers a lot quicker
- Shang is less vulnerable during morphing and de-morphing
- His single fireball has a slightly reduced cooldown


In a nutshell, the new Shang is incredibly fun to play.

Gotta wait until the first release, otherwise, standard MAME procedures, please can someone address that. Getting the original rom cannot be asked through the forum.

Side note, Shang pop up changed from LK, LK, D+LP, D+HP to HP, D+LP, D+LP, D+HP to prevent launcher hunting on rush down and make for a more fluid looking combo, his 5 hit combo remains usable during rush down.

I have little problem using MAME and I can probably find the rom. How does one use the hack? Any idea timeframe for release? im really keen to start playing this with my friends who meet to play fighters once a week. we are considering streaming future meets

Hopefully by the end of the year. There's only a few characters left to overhaul, then we'll get player feedback and make changes based on that, in addition to new ideas we might come up with. I'd like to have something I could run a tournament with by NEC.

1.Is there anyway to make UMK3 spit out frame data/hitbox data?
2.Can that data then be used to mod MK9/MKX pc versions and make them play like proper 2d MK?
1. Hitboxes yes? Frame data, not sure, we'll ask.
2. Highly unlikely but a very interesting idea.
