So, my wife bought me something as an early birthday present and it's certainly something I wasn't expecting. The upside? I get to play a lot of old school games that I played as a kid. It's always nice when your spouse knows what will make you happy without even asking.

This is what she got me:

I kid you not, just today I was driving around a popular neighborhood in Beirut and this old ass electronics store had a Sega Genesis on display (the actual label was "Sega Mega Drive") and I got hella nostalgic, before thinking: "who the hell still sells these?" But honestly all I could think of is wanting to play it. This literally happened earlier this morning.

Your wife is a keeper, by the way.

You're married? :O
lol, yep. Goin' on 8 years now.

Does it come with The MK & SF series?
Nope. It's rather unfortunate. They were some of the first things I looked for. It does have all the Sonic Games (minus the pinball one), Streets of Rage, Comix Zone, Vectorman and a slew of others.

Aye. The Sega brings back a lot of memories. I used to live by this thing. >_>

I recently got an Ouya and Retron 5, going full retro.

I guess you can always buy Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition and MK 1-3, Genesis catridges are fairly cheap. Collecting SNES games is much harder.

Indeed. I'm glad that it's compatible with most (not all, apparently) Genesis cartridges. My wife has a cousin that has quite the collection of them. I'll have to ask her if she minds parting ways with them for a bit.

Every time I see a SNES I melt on the inside. I know how you're feeling right now. It's awesome, man.

If they come out with a SNES one, I'll have to pick it up. I would be especially ecstatic if it had all the available Final Fantasy games on it.

Yeah, I can get all these on PC and what not, but I'd much rather have a console in front of me while playing it.
