Ebola virus: How does TYM feel about it?

you should do better research on things like this. It actually can be spread the same ways, that your typical cold would. Also, by way of broken skin. I'm in Dallas where it has been an outbreak and allot of these posts are made by people with very little knowledge of the disease or how many people it has infected in a short amount of time. Part of the train it has spread so quickly was due to having no vaccine for it at the time. I'm not sure whether or not there is a vaccine now. People please educate yourselves though.

No it's not. Colds can be spread in the air. Ebola is spread by direct contact with bodily fluids. Which doesn't mean you have to come into contact with feces like he said, but is not as easy to get as a normal virus. If someone with ebola sneezes on something and you eat it, you might get ebola. But if they just happen to sneeze near you, you probably won't.

And it hasn't been an outbreak in Dallas. 1 person got it from Africa, a couple people may have *possibly* got it from him, and they have been contained, and might not even have it.

Excuse my wording on saying an outbreak but there have been a number of ebola cases in Dallas. And it is still being researched in whether it can be spread airborne.I should've said similar to a cold, because it can be spread if an infected individual were to sneeze or on/possibly at you. That's what I meant by that although I want exactly clear

What other CONFIRMED cases are there? Please link us if you will.

Edit: my feelings on Ebola is that the virus sucks. Really bad.

But this is just the next big thing for the media to blow way the fuck out of proportion for profit. They did it with swine flu. They did it with SARS. They did it with West Nile Virus. Bird Flu.

History is unfortunately always doomed to repeat itself.

It's a little worrisome mostly because I actually live in Dallas but it's not like I'm crippled by fear or anything. Honestly it'll most likely be fine, we had this same drama over the bird flu and West Nile virus and nothing came of it.

Maybe, but it probably isn't or it would have spread more than it has outside the original region. Like when the 2009 flu pandemic happened, when it spread to new countries it quickly grew to hundreds or thousands of cases because of the ease of transmission. With ebola it's easy to get under control when someone is found with it, and no country outside the 4 it's been spread in since June has seen any significant outbreak of it.

I didn't read it online, I heard it on a radio station.

It's being over hyped by the media in an effort to scare people into getting vaccinated and to create a demand for the future ebola vaccines which are in the works. Don't worry, there's probably only like a 1% chance of a zombie apocalypse.

Here's some top of the line fear propaganda + analysis

Oh no trust me I know. I have done my research. I just wanted to see if you could have helped me more lol.

What do I think about Ebola?
I think it's a horrible thing that shouldn't afflict people.

WAR SEASON "THE WEAK EXPOSED!"
First diagnosed cased in the US, nurse in Dallas, TX. Supposedly got from a "breach in protocol" after giving care to Duncan (supposedly didn't remove her protective gear correctly). Doesn't seem to spread too fast, but I cant help but to be kinda scared.

Supposedly someone in Brazil caught Ebola as well.

I don't know. Ebola-like viruses have ran rampant before and have wiped out millions. I kind of view it as mother nature doing her thing, but I honestly don't know what the survival rate is of people with the virus, how easily available treatment is and so forth. I tend not to joke about things of this nature, but that's just me. Just gonna have to wait and see if we can get a tight lid on it.

A nurse caring for an ebola patient has been diagnosed at Texas Health Presbyterian hospital, which is about 20 minutes from my house. I'm not too worried, as of right now, but not ignorant enough to think you have to eat someone's vomit or shit to contract it. Let's hope this gets under control.

I live in dallas and I'm not too worried about it. Ugh I got a friend who thinks the government will send us to fema camps to die. Anyway I think it might go away soon in few weeks. Anyone remember swine flu?
