XB-ONE to be tournament standard for MKX (likely)

so while at my last venue, the TO stopped by the MK setup to talk to the MK guys. apparently its been decided that MKX runs better on the XBONE therefore will be played on it at our venues. im not sure where this info came from, but if the larger venues are seeing the same info this could lead to the XB ONE becoming tourney standard. personally im not too thrilled about this, but I suppose its best to come to terms with it now and start looking for a converter :/

How could anyone possibly know if MKX will run better on Xbox One or PS4? Most of the builds NRS are taking to expos are on PS4 I've noticed. However, I do agree Xbox One will be the tournament console. Most T.O.'s already have a Xbox One for K.I. so it would help save money.

Nice to know this ahead of time. Like I said if it is then IGAU will have been my only attempt at playing in tournaments. I have zero interest in ever picking up a microsoft controller, or playing on the system again. Not a flame post either. I'm just speaking on my opinion. I can't say I didn't see this coming though.

Aren't there converters so you don't have to use a Xbox controller? lol

yea it couldn't on release but can now. they patched it in.

to people saying xbone will end up being a tournament standard because of KI, GG is out pretty soon and is only on PS so that kinda voids that point.

I've already seen TO's saying they are gonna use the PS3 version of xrd. Vandy is one of them.

"Or playing the system." Just a personal choice. I'm choosing to not support Xbox as a company. I'm more interested in how different the Next Gen versions of the game will be different from the current gen.

if the game is big enough (and mk will be), it won't matter if KI is on the system if it plays better on ps4.

now if it actually does play better on xbone for whatever reason, then THAT will make it the tournament standard. No Major TO should sacrifice quality over convenience.

You know that different games run in conjunction with others at tournies, right?
If they have their 5 XBOs for KI, they need to finish the KI tourny before the MK guys can even start. Ain't gonna happen, obviously.
They'll have to buy more consoles, regardless of what the standard turns out to be.
Luckily for them, at least, they're both the same price.

i pointed this out to the TO, asking if venues would atleast wait until release to get a reliable verdict on which console would run it better. he said (in a matter-of-fact tone) that its already been decided, the XBone is better for MKX. he seemed pretty confident so I didn't bother asking where he got the info. but im pretty curious myself

well only time will tell, I would not be surprised if we saw it at on XBone at tourneys early in the games life, but if they see that 70% of MKX sales are on PS4 (which is very possible) it would be in their best interest to make the switch. unless there is a monumental difference between consoles, which I highly doubt. fingers crossed here, I do not want to play on the WhackBox

I'm simply repeating what I've read a T.O. actually post. He mentioned possibly having it on the 360 until people pointed out that another team is doing the ps3/360 version.

Also, who is to say a tournament has to have K.I. and MKX running at the same time? There are such things as schedules.

I don't really care. I don't support ps but mk9 was always on it. As long as there's a way for me to play on the console in tourneys I'm fine. I go to those for myself, not for the companies
