"You think you bad? Pffft, You ain't bad.."
I picked this up becuase im not a story guy at all and everyone said this will change my mind, well they were wrong its rinse and repeat missions with no reall diffrence. The only reason i hit my level 20 is because of pvp, multiplayer was always how i liked shooters.

But being an fps player i have a few major gripes for online, they need to take care of the whole shotgun/fusion rifle non sense especially the damn warlock/ shotgun weapon balance in general doesnt make sense and to quickly sum up my issues i feel you die to quick ( should be more like halo) if you have a shield you shouldnt die seemingly as fast as cod.
Do people here even know how good you were in Halo? lol.. When I saw you on this site, i was like no way thats THE Zyos, and then my friend The_SNKE told me that you are. Im still not sure haha but if you are, thats crazy! You were pretty much the best Halo 1 player in the world for the span of that games life (probably between you and the Ogre brothers right?). I played Halo competitively in California and on XBC and my friends and I used to watch videos of you playing and learn so much shit.. Pick up the plasma rifles through the walls on Wizard, shooting the AR after grabbing invisibility for the instant frames, XXY auto reload... Good times. Nothing will every touch Halo MP.. Its awesome that you play NRS games too, I thought I was the only one haha ;)

Well anyways dude, just wanted to get that out of my system, haha! So from what Ive read, you didnt really like Destiny PVP huh? That sucks dude, I was looking forward to Halo style MP finally coming to Playstation...

The 1.0.2 patch will go live next week, and includes several changes to the Cryptarch and Engram experience. These changes guarantee that Engrams will always decode into items at or above the quality of an engram.

Only Engrams that drop after 1.0.2 are subject to this change.

Cryptarch Changes

Cayde-6 took the Cryptarch aside and showed him a sack of doorknobs. He decoded that mystery pretty quickly.
  • Legendary Engrams will always produce Legendary or better quality items, including Materials or Exotics
  • Rare Engrams will always produce Rare or better quality items
  • Rare engrams will have an increased chance to produce Legendary quality items
Activity Changes
  • Daily Heroics, Weekly Heroics, and Vanguard: Tiger Playlist activities will include Rare and Legendary Engrams in addition to their existing rewards
  • Ascendant materials have been promoted to Legendary to closer associate them with the gear they are used to upgrade
  • Legendary Engram items that exist in your inventory will be demoted to Rare quality when the patch goes live, so decode them while you can. But let's be honest—even if you don't, we all know they were blues already...

They were hella lazy when it came to boss battles.

Besides the Devil Walker, every single boss is just a bigger version of a minion. Every single one. They're just stronger, send out ads, and are bullet sponges. They all require the same strategy to beat too.

Ugh this game has so much potential but was fucked big time
They can learn it's not set in stone but they need to change it quick to get the attention of gamers back.

Lol. It is funny what Bungie is choosing to address. All in all it is a moot point because once you hit iLevel 29-30 there is nothing to do. All this will do is allow people to reach max rank faster. They need to release their grip on the other 14 GB of game they have hidden away.

Bungie lost it's magic. Destiny is the biggest bust of the year so far. I'd honestly give it a 5/10 the only good thing about the game is the multiplayer but even that isn't nearly as good as Halo and they said this game would kill Halo.

The game has huge fucking issues, anyone who denies it are delusional. But let's have some perspective. It's three weeks old. WoW had issues at launch. Diablo 3 was shitty at launch. Every mmo goes through growing pains and changes.

Some of these issues should have been caught before launch. Bungie is not excused from piss poor planning. But the game is mechanically sound and the shooting engine is very fun. And as seen from the recent dev notes and future patch next week, bungie seems intent on fixing these issues.

So if the game is not up to your standards it might be best to put it down and check up on it in a few months.

4/10 if you are playing alone, 7/10 if you have friends. To be honest, I am expecting a flood of used copy in the next few weeks. There's not a lot of content in this game. You can finish all the story, side quest, strikes, and patrol in around 20-25 hours.

If you don't like they game, SELL IT instead of bitching abt everything that the makers of the game did wrong. Say what you want abt the game, it's still good. I'm gonna keep continuing to play, just as 90% of everyone on here is gonna keep bitching about it. What game didn't have bugs and problems with it when it first came out? Wait for the patches, which is good abt modern day games. They can fix that shit and they're already working on it.

I bet $500 once they do the next patch and fix all the stuff that needs to be fixed, someone's gonna make a thread bitching abt the patch.

People are complaining because this is Bungie we're talking about. Do you think anyone actually questioned their ability to deliver an absolutely stellar game, especially with how they hyped it up prior to release?

Yes, it's our own fault if we bought into the hype, but we had good reason to because of Bungie's history.

Finally got some time to play over the last couple days, got to level 24, and yah, I 100% agree with the OP,

There isn't much driving me at this point to want to grind up to 29-30.

Crucible really is a joke.

How the fuck can they make Rumble only 6 players. Seriously!!??? I mean, come on. And yah, no point in really playing it if you aren't rocking a hunter. Which is dissapointing, because a couple of the maps on Control are pretty fun. There is potential there. But lack of maps and actual players in each match is really hurting the crucible. Only reason to play it is to grind bountys or crucible points or whatever.

I dunno, it's fun with Murphy, but the game is really only about leveling up gear. And thats not enough to hold people forever if there is no real reason for them to level up that gear as is explained in the OP.

Is it true that the second expansion won't come till next year?? with the first not being till November?? thats fuckin nuts.

I really hope we get more classes to play as. Only having 3 at launch is un-fucking-acceptable. The sub-classes don't count because they're not vastly different than the other barring a few things.

I really do love this game, but I'm kicking myself in the ass for buying into the hype.

yikes, im not sure sure if that's a good fix. id rather keep the legendary engrams as they are (super rare) definitely fix the chances of the being decoded into an ACTUAL legendary (not necessarily 100% but much higher than it currently is) but make the contents of the engrams better than purchasable gear. IMO vanguard/crucible gear should not be identical to gear you get from a 1 in 2000 drop. looks like this update is just going to make it that much easier to reach the Lv26-28 range :/

Yah, I actually wasn't even going to get it, then they let you try the beta for free, and I loved it. The free beta basically sold the game to me, but I figured there would be so much more, oh well. Still pretty fun game, it will probably be awesome down the road. I really wish Crucible was better and more fleshed out there, with more maps. If Crucible was better I don't think there would be as many people hating on it right now.

His list is full of ridiculous false cause and effect, vague statements, generalizations, lack of context, and opinionated statements.
Well in fairness, you haven't offered up any arguments either. "I don't see any flaws in this game" is just an opinion. A fair one, don't get me wrong (though one many disagree with), but equally lacks substance, and reaaaaaally verges on hyperbole. Very few games are without flaws, and to state that Destiny, of all games, is without flaws is a bit of a stretch.

Keep in mind, I'm not speaking this from a hater, whiner perspective, nor the other side of the coin (fanboys). I was totally indifferent to the game before finally deciding on getting it, I was neither hyped nor expecting it to disappoint. I wasn't really sure what to expect. I finally got it last week and yeah sorry, but I don't see how repetitive, lazy, uninspired mission design with an equally uninspired, uninteresting story cannot be considered a flaw. That's a major flaw right there. I'm not saying the game doesn't have its strengths, of course it does, but you can't condescendingly lump all critics together by accusing us of armchair quarterbacking. I don't have to be a chef to judge a meal. The game is fun but flawed. I honestly don't have that much of a strong opinion about it, positive or negative, but it CERTAINLY has its flaws.

Wow what a line. Very well said.
It's also the main principal that I disagree with most on.

Thank you for pointing this out, I think this is probably why I get so upset with people. Just a difference in philosophy.

Yeah destiny was disappointing, but who cares? Halo 2 anniversary soon.
Lol, this is what the group of friends I play with constantly say while we're playing Destiny. They are also my IRL friends and part of my OG Halo 2 crew. We are basically playing Destiny as filler until November, that's when the real fight begins! So pumped to finally be able to play my most favorite game of all time online again, you have no idea (maybe you do, idk).
