I posted from my phone, so I couldn't CnP that stuff. Thanks for taking care of it. =DThe 1.0.2 patch will go live next week, and includes several changes to the Cryptarch and Engram experience. These changes guarantee that Engrams will always decode into items at or above the quality of an engram.
Only Engrams that drop after 1.0.2 are subject to this change.
Cryptarch Changes
Cayde-6 took the Cryptarch aside and showed him a sack of doorknobs. He decoded that mystery pretty quickly.
Activity Changes
- Legendary Engrams will always produce Legendary or better quality items, including Materials or Exotics
- Rare Engrams will always produce Rare or better quality items
- Rare engrams will have an increased chance to produce Legendary quality items
- Daily Heroics, Weekly Heroics, and Vanguard: Tiger Playlist activities will include Rare and Legendary Engrams in addition to their existing rewards
- Ascendant materials have been promoted to Legendary to closer associate them with the gear they are used to upgrade
- Legendary Engram items that exist in your inventory will be demoted to Rare quality when the patch goes live, so decode them while you can. But let's be honest—even if you don't, we all know they were blues already...
It kinda looks like that, y'know? This sounds like a game that I should be getting into later rather than sooner. Slightly glad that my hype for it since it's announcement years ago died out.
...why?You should never link to Kotaku.
I can see it now: "I KEEP FINDING SHIT FOR OTHER CLASSES INSTEAD OF MY OWN!" *gets asked if they have full Legendaries on their current character* "YES, BUT WHO CARES? I WANT MORE FOR MY CLASS THAT I'M USING, EVEN THOUGH THEY'RE DOWNGRADES."Cool.
Game was still great but I won't argue with a cryptarch buff.
Give it a few days and I'm sure people will find new stuff to whine about.
That's actually not bad. Strange Coins aren't exactly easy to come by and you can get some nice stuff if you save up enough of them.20+hours playing, finally got 1 purple engram drop, my first.
And it ended up being 2 strange coins,
I almost traded the game in right after.
Game is still fun, but only with friends for me, The game will probably be very good in a year if they stick with it, and don't just go sequal mode.
yah I know you need them, it's the fact I hadn't gotten anything legendary yet lol, then like, an hour later, from a blue engram I got legendary armor, so Now I'm happy lol. That's actually not bad. I've yet to come across a legendary engram. But I did get a legendary shotgun from a rare engram20+hours playing, finally got 1 purple engram drop, my first.

Yeah, the game delivered is functional enough but it has absolutely nothing on the game we were promised. This sounds like a game that I should be getting into later rather than sooner. Slightly glad that my hype for it since its announcement years ago died out.
Patrols, dude. Easily. You only get 25 rep from a Strike and Patrols give you 10 each.yah I know you need them, it's the fact I hadn't gotten anything legendary yet lol, then like, an hour later, from a blue engram I got legendary armor, so Now I'm happy lol.
takes for god damn ever to level up vanguard
whats faster, strikes or partols?? I'm thinking partrolling on earth seems to be the best right now, ,
I wouldn't say whine....more like actual complains of features and issues that have already been remedied in similar MMO's or FPS's and even Bungie's previous games.Cool.

Agreed. FFXIV and D3 were shit at launch and the legions of people with legitimate complaints got it fixed.I wouldn't say whine....more like actual complains of features and issues that have already been remedied in similar MMO's or FPS's and even Bungie's previous games.
If people didn't "whine" about Final Fantasy XIV's initial launch or Diablo 3's initial launch, they would have never gotten the stellar Realm Reborn or Reaper of Souls.
Just my thoughts....
