Everything wrong with Destiny

So, I'm pretty sure you've all seen Angry Joe's review of Destiny. Yesterday he put up a podcast explaining his thought process behind it as well as speaking on the patch that Bungie just put out. It's pretty lengthy but they talk about some stuff that will most likely infuriate you like it did to me. I can't believe how much Bungie held out on this game. Either that, or Activision forced them to remove certain sections to just be released as DLC later.
We all should have known something was up upon downloading/installing the game and seeing the lack of content compared to its size. Skyrim is like 1/2 its size in regards to space and has about 100x more shit to do.

There aren't any CGI movies that would take up space, either. Everything is rendered in-game.

I bet it was Activision that made them do this. I can only imagine how much disc-locked content there is.

I was actually thinking of getting this but nah Ill stick to Diablo 3.
Someone sent this picture the other day, how true is the Destiny pic?
Ok granted people consider this an "MMO" but it was said it wasn't really (I see it as a pseudo MMO) there is lots and lots of grinding to get decent/good stuff in true MMO games. However in this game this pic is true. I do like destiny and I believe it's pretty decent but I do have some gripes and my first was this. I bust my ass and patience doing stuff over and over and get a blue engram which contains a crap green item. Or I get a green engram. It takes forever to get anything good (not using the loot cave) and then when you do get something like a legendary it takes forever to fulfill the requirements to upgrade them. It's tedious and in some cases my weapon doesn't seem to do much more damage than a simple rare. I like the balance BL2 has, goo story, variety in stuff to do, it is challenging but not tedious and the drop system isn't easy but not hard(time wasting) either. I'm not a fan of destiny drop system.

I don't know how Bungie fucked up their loot system when they had plenty of other games to take notes from (mainly Borderlands 1/2).

It's really, really god damn frustrating to find a legendary Engram only for it to turn out to be a blue. It's like...wtf? Sure, a blue Engram can be a legendary, but the chances are pretty slim. There's almost no sense of reward for time spent on the game and I didn't start to realize that until recently.

Another big issue I had with it at first is that I had to look online a LOT. To understand what things were or did. I'm not talking in depth stuff either just simple things like what is this level bar for? What does vanguard rep mean? How is it earned? (Examples).
Essentially the in game explanations on a lot of things are vague or not there at all.

I also have Borderlands 2 I agree about story and variety etc. I think the Diablo 3 pic should be more as I get stupid amounts of loot.

I had to get all my legendary/exotic items from buying them at the vemdors. I've used the crypTARD hundreds of times only to have my engrams turn to nothing more than useless blues.

I understand that not every legendary engram is suppossed to turn into a legendary item BUT to reach level 27 without aquiring one by the drop system ks pretty shitty, especially after doing hard strikes, PVP, story, etc and not receiving one.

The PVP just feels bland to me. I can't wAit until the Master Chief collection comes out to actually be able to enjoy a MP aspect of a game for once on this generation.

I agree with this shit for real. I just want to add that crucible and vanguard marks are annoying af to get because each mission you only get like max 5 and they are used as currency to get better weapons (that really aren't much better) and once you spend forever getting them, they are gone in like two seconds on one thing and you have to repeat the cycle.

I'm one of those dudes that like to grind hard for my equipment because I don't really get lucky with drops and it becomes beyond frustrating when I keep dying by blade dancing fuckheads running around with OP shotguns. Almost all crucible missions, especially Capture, is damn near unplayable unless you use a shotgun and after the mountain of salty matches losing to this nonsense what did you earn? Nothing.
I went 33-9 in clash, which I usually suck in thanks to the shotgun, and the dude on my team that got 4th with 3 kills and 15+ deaths got a legendary engram. Are you serious? Nah ninja.
There's no real reward in this game imo besides going in on high level strikes with the homies and overcoming impossible shit ex: all those high level pholoth the untamed or what his name is. I had running those missions at a high level. Wizards for days!!!!!!!!

The game is bad. Multiplayer is not competitive or fun, single player is repetitive and not fun, the only time I play is when friends beg me to, and then I eventually get fed up or bored enough to just stop playing.

This game is extremely disappointing and depressing. They hyped it up as the best thing ever, and it just isn't. I admittedly get bored of games fast, but it's sad when a game like CoD: Ghosts can hold my attention for far longer. There's no reason to play Destiny, it's boring and lacks content. It has so much potential, and maybe in a few years they can build on the foundation, but it's still unfun at its core, so yeah.

I agree about multiplayer. It gets boring really fast and bladedancers are stupid. Also not many small maps and not mucch variation.
Also when u get a legendary, u should have a high chance of getting a legendary item. I swear after like 9 or 10 times getting a blue item out of a legendary engram is not fun

The only thing you are really wrong about are the Sunbreakers...with that said I still have fun with the game, but I do not ignore its flaws and I call them out the same way you do. For a 500 million dollar title I really expected a more well thought out system.

The limited content is killing them.

I have fun otherwise....

but they gotta start releasing NEW things. I'm not a grinder.... which is probably why I enjoy the game much more than someone who does.

We all see that there is tons of content hiding..... and we just can't access it. Kinda sucks :(

I was expecting them to have this base.... then release more story week by week. Making me FEEL like i'm growing this legend...... slowly but surely. Needing to accomplish strikes and raids to stay frosty.... because the story only gets harder from here.

I really don't want the game to stall out like this :(

I don't want it to stall out either. I just hit 27 and the amount of materials I need to upgrade my gear is dumb. I have almost all the upgrades available, but I don't have the mats.

Game is great. The people that whine about it are pretty entertaining though. You either get it or you don't I guess.

I'm glad alot of the casuals and armchair critics/fraudulent business experts are steering away.

Destiny can start building it's hardcore fanbase now and I can actually hear from people who enjoy the game instead of predictable background noise of complaints and greed accusations.

Completely false. But keep using bright colorful pictures to do your gaming research for you.

They'd love you in elementary school.

Lbsh why the fuck is there no in game world map?

Why does this game hide its length with an unnatural amount of grinding...
lol, I get lost every now and then and yeah it is frustrating as F....

I like how their attempt to vary the standard "shoot and kill...move to next room...shoot and kill again" mission structure was a 3 minute section in the game where you could pick up a sword and kill stuff and NOTHING ELSE in the rest of the game...

What is actually better is that most people probably just ditched the sword and went back to their auto-rifles.

For all its problems I still enjoy the game and playing co-op with my peoples...however, I am really dissapointed that this was a 500M dollar title.

Yea like I said I enjoy the game but am aware of its flaws and wish the work I put in was at least occasionally rewarded. It took 26 in game hours and finding the cave exploit and spending another 3 total hours doing that to get ONE legendary. I got two legendary engrams that turned to rares
Crucible is annoying. Those that are "winning" with hunter BS always try to defend it saying it's about player skill. Well I'm skilled and I'm also good at halo. No. Crucible is still unbalanced and the rewards are Minimal for the frustration it causes. I don't get salty but I don't play it much cuz I don't feel like stressing for nothing. Even worse is if you have a suicidal team.

Activision is involved, so of course "greed accusations" are going to be made. It's part of their business practice because Kotick is one greedy bastard.

The flaws are obvious, they're glaring in fact. What is there to "get"? I've played plenty of RPG's, MMO's, and grindy games. "Casuals" are the people who will like the game the most, as it appeals to them heavily, especially in multiplayer. It's not background noise when it's in the foreground. A game of this magnitude should be miles better than it is, and it just isn't. It's awesome that you're having fun and like the game, but don't pretend like there isn't problems and that the people pointing them out are just "whining". If the issues people are legitimately complaining about weren't consistent, then perhaps you'd have a point.

I'm sure your qualified to make such accusations.
I'm sure your knowledge of how economics and business work, runs deep enough for you to provide meaningful commentary on whether or not it's fair to personally attack these people.

Gamers are so full of shit, I'm sorry. It's all shit talk and no actual substance. Point the finger at the money maker and whine about him.

I didn't even hit level 20 yet because the games gets boring really quick, and I bought the game within the 1st week. PvP is fun at first but there's so little content that it gets boring after a few matches. I'm trying so hard to even finish the story because I don't wanna do the same thing over and over

I'm sorry the only problem I see is in your expectations and your perception.

I don't see flaws in this game.

"the foreground"? LOL The people who enjoy the game..... are playing the game..... While the naysayers are on the internet whining about it.
You aren't the majority, you're just loud.
