SonicFox = Potential Greatest of All Time...And We Are Living In It

Zyphox

What is going on guys, Ya Boi Zyphox here.
@AK Juggs I'm not saying we have bad players...just bad games. Which is the point I was trying to make and why I wished to move on. It's irrelevant to the topic. I'm kind of not in the mood for arguments or debates so we can just say you guys are right and move on. @coolwhip Cd jr if I'm not mistaken. He is a phenomenal player which once again has not been my argument. Let's not act like 2nd is a place he wouldnt want to be, and I'm sure he felt just fine with that after winning Marvel.
i believe Rico suave got 2nd in KI and Wong 3rd. just to clarify homie.

with his resume you'd think he'd body everyone here free. Wow
I'm not sure there's a single guy that has played him that doesn't walk away impressed. Win or Loss (which neither player can always control) you can tell by the way he plays that his fundamentals are just ahead of everyone elses.

He doesn't use top tier characters really either.

I like Tekken 8

He's really low key about it too. He's also one of the best when it comes to stuffing wakeups.

So why don't people like Justin Wong dominate our "less skilled games"? It's because the games "we" play are different, not "less skilled". Chris G plays Injustice and MK9, he doesn't dominate either. The games matter, the fundamentals are different. Someone like REO would not dominate in SF, unless he had years of SF practice and fundamentals. General fighting game fundamentals only get you so far, and it's why people like Jwong are good early in new fighters, they use their general fighting game or SF fundamentals, but it only can take them so far.
On the other hand, I'd be scared to see what Chris G would do if he actually took MK seriously, fleshed out tech and learned combos and matchups. He did it for like a month in IGAU and won two big back to back majors with (mainly) Green Arrow. Hardly anyone else has even been seeing Top 8 with GA, not to mention winning anything. So that's a pretty massive accomplishment for someone's side game.

Also even if I wanted to get good at SF4, i couldnt.
I started that series in the 4th installment 2012, and immediately dropped it. Its also been out for like 5 years AND i dont like the game. Its a good game, but not my type if fighter.
Yeah it's generally not a good idea to force yourself into playing a game you don't enjoy. You just can't play at your best if you aren't having fun. It's ok man you'll always be known as the non-capcom God which is a super awesome title to have haha.

UltraChen talked about this and said that to be really known worldwide in the FGC you kinda have to play Capcom games, but I sort of disagree. Capcom games just happen to be the most popular right now. But I mean I'm sure MKX has the potential of being a top 3 game at EVO: USF4, Smash 4 and MKX. So who knows. MKX might get big enough to matter just as much worldwide. And even if it doesn't I don't think it's that important.

Oh, those were the days...

Probably could have won CEO this year again if he had actually taken the game a bit more seriously. His download of Deg's Zatanna was amazing. Chris G is my hero.

I think of capcom games like mcdonalds. They are very popular and have a very established foundation (like mcdonalds). Games like mortal kombat are like carls jr (dnt blow me up for my comparison lol just making a point). Even though mortal kombat and carls jr are well established, they dnt have the same popularity as their more popular (because of bias and time and etc.) counterparts. Pretty much games like mortal kombat could always get bigger and more popular and etc., but since there is an instilled and reinforced bias, meeting or surpassing the popularity and etc. of capcom games (street fighter for example) will be very difficult. Just my point of view on the FGC situation #YEEEAAAPPPP

On top of that if he played a character better that was top 10 and up.

But.....but...............

MKF30

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11
just want to say concerning mks popularity, its already ridiculously and surpasses capcom games with outside media ie movies, web series and mkx trsiler has more views than any sf game.... Lol so i think its safe to say mk is more popular than sf as a series.

Mk has to been to majors so it should be respected even if tournament' wise capcom games are automatically worshipped....who cares, mk will do well regardless plus by now people are sick of ssff4 uber duper omega 500th edition and just want sf5 already. Btw sf may be mcdonalds but mk is bk also crazy popular.

Now onto the sonickid I think he's good obviously, I also think he's on a streak right now a groove and probably won't last forever(just being realistic, not hating)

But I wouldn't put pressure on him with too much though, he's human too at the end of the day so when he does lose(and he will at some point) people will say "oh crap is Sonic the same player"?

I've noticed this pattern with past champs, then they lose and people either mock them or start speculating.

I definitely think he's one of the best MK 9 players obviously and Injustice too. I also think we have different players that reign supreme in various fighting games and MK games and it's impossible for the same player to win in every fighting game, it's yet to happen. Don't take it the wrong way, just being realistic. When someone says "greatest of all time" I think someone who literally wins every tournament, in every fighting game. And I feel this way about every competitive MK player be it offline, online whatever. I also think of someone who literally can own anyone with ANY and ALL characters, another thing I've yet to see even from TYM known online, offline players(myself included) I don't know anyone who can use every character godlike, just not going to happen.

My honestly opinion with topics like this.

Retirement my ass
MK is more popular in the non-competitive scene by a million miles.

Injustice sold better too, that's not an argument.

It doesn't matter what game you're good at and I think the FGC has a dumb stigma saying that you have to be good at SF to be respected. On the real, who cares what people out of your game think? the only people who think that SF is the one true game are SF4 players that literally don't play anything else. They are the people that scream that they can play whatever but in reality they really can't.
