For every character, I either like them or am indifferent to them.

An exception: I don't like Kobra.
Special mentions: I like Drahmin, Havik, and Mokap.
My favorite characters: Noob Saibot, Shang Tsung, Kratos, and Cyber Sub-Zero.

Kabal. I don't like the way he looks lol. I hate the way he looks.
Honestly though, besides Kenshi & Frost there are no new characters that I can say that I like after UMK3. Well let me say Quan Chi & Shinnok. I like them, but besides that I really don't know. That's why I'm not super pumped about MK10 honestly. They killed a large portion of the cast off, and if they span from MK4 to Deception... It'll be a bunch of newer characters and a story I honestly have zero interest in. I think I'll be enjoying Injustice a lot longer than you guys.

I only hate the character who is beating me at the moment he is beating me :) Other than that all MK characters are cool (I never played MK5-MK8).

Stryker is one of the lamest characters in the entire series. I also think Baraka is a cool concept, but he's just really lame in execution.
I hate Scorpion because he is emo personified, and I can't take Bo Rai Cho seriously. As for the post MK4 characters, I don't really hate any of them(except Shujinko) but I'm indfferent to many of them.

Lui Kang's in game voice should be fixed. He sounds like Mickey Mouse.
Kenshi's voice is pretty silly as well. He sounds like Timmy from South Park.

I'm surprised there's some Kano dislikes here! I can't remember a lot of characters after UMK.
Just off the top tho, a few of these idek specifically what game they're from:

Jade, Kitana, Mileena (Weird JK hitboxes)
Sindel (Good char tbh, but a friend of mine plays as him in a really annoying way)

All of above, they can go and die in fire.

I'm on the same boat. I dont play as him and I'm like "meh" when somebody picks him, but still, I like the look, mask and overall design. He's a cool char, yeah.

Updating my list:

Taven, Daegon, Mokap, Dairou (doesn't fit in the MK universe at ALL @General M2Dave), Kobra (same), Hsu Hao, Onaga (omg so dumb), Motaro (ugh)

Now onto the more popular characters:
1-10. Kung Lao - Fucking yolo piece of slippery shit jumpy prick, I hate him
11. Scorpion - 99% of the casual players online use him and ONLY use his special moves and 11111111111111111111111111111 all day and uppercut when you get close... I used to like this character.........
12. Rain - Stupid purple retarded ninja... if he didn't look ridiculouly dumb in every iteration after Trilogy, I might like him.

Quan Chi is easily takes the #1 spot for being a bitch. Sending everyone to do his bidding.
Kano comes in at second for being a bitch. 90% of the time he fights another make character he loses and he is just a loser.
MK9 Mileena wins most annoying and biggest slutbucket award.
Scorpion wins biggest dumbass award for being pissed at an innocent, and trying to kill like a million Sub-Zeros only to still be pissed at the next one.
