Let's talk about your problems with IGAU

It's just a discussion. Not like great threads are popping up all over at this point. You should contribute or keep posting internet meme's like a cool kid. Your call.
This thread has been made a thousand times. I would rather there be no threads than have the same ones pop up every week.

My biggest issue are moves that can just be thrown out for the most part and are safe, stuff like trident rush, cartwheel, OH teleport, double punch on venom.

Youphemism

Gunslinger since pre patch (sh/out to The Farmer)
Other than that i don't mind 50/50 but rather some moves with low risk / very high reward ( let's bring some examples: Batgirl b2u3 / j2 and general corner damage+meterless vortex)
B2*u3, b2*d3 and vortex followups after her j2 are all backdashable if blocked, but I get where you're coming from that on hit they're pretty good.
My biggest issue are moves that can just be thrown out for the most part and are safe, stuff like trident rush, cartwheel, OH teleport, double punch on venom.
Trident rush can and double punch can, but all cartwheel options are punishable and OH teleport can be mbb3/f3'd...

I wouldn't even describe it as a fighting game anymore. It's very much dash-in and spam safe mix-ups repeatedly for free or run to the other corner and stop the person from moving. It's basically just Marvel only the game isn't as bright/flashy and the commentators aren't so enthusiastic that they can cover up the bullshit that is Injustice onscreen

My main gripe with the game was the generic clash quotes. I mean come on, WoWo doesn't have anything special to say to Batman!?
Every character should have a special quote with every character. That would be godlike. People would never get tired of hearing clash quotes because you have to play the whole cast against the whole cast to hear them all

I simply don't enjoy this game as much as Mortal Kombat. I understand that they are two separate games but Injustice just seems like a carnival game rather than a legit fighter. Walk speed sucks, Batgirl 50/50's, focus more on shenanigans rather than fundamental play (See Killer Instinct for footsies)

I'm not going to mention anything specific. Overall, I like the game very much, and summer jam was hype as hell- a great illustration of how awesome this game is.

But if I had to say why I'm playing KI now instead, I'd sum it up in a single sentence:

"The meta of Injustice is grating"

And isn't it? It can really wear you down. The game is amazing because every character completely destroys the meta of traditional fighting games in some way- either with an abnormal special ability, setups, or an absurdly good move/string... At the same time, having to deal with all this meta-breaking stuff can really wear you down mentally. Every time you go up against a character, they have some kind of meta-breaking tool that you need to seriously adjust for in a way no other fighting game demands of you. Sure, it doesn't LOOK as crazy and insane like Marvel vs Capcom or certain anime fighters- but mechanically speaking and when it goes down to matchups, it's probably one of the more crazy thing out there. Every character has both obscure gimmicky tech that will destroy you if you aren't aware of how to counter that bill, and non-obscure "you just have to deal with it" traits that make playing against them different than playing against any other character.

I do like Injustice, but the game's meta and matchups can be a bit too much to handle sometimes.

*Edit* Just in case I need to clarify this any more painstakingly: I like this game, but it's tiring to keep up with. *

They love my Grayson
NW doesn't fight like an acrobat. Most NW mains don't care, some rock the Damian skin but didn't even know who DW was until IGAU. Flying Grayson and staff spin are cool, but IMO they should of been specials off the Escrima stance and give NW a grappling hook trait that enables to utilize air mobility to the degree of Batman but on crack. I want qaudruple jumps and zip lining across the screen like how Vega or Guy moves in SF.

Joker needs a usuable trait that defines the character. Joker is essential teeth, crowbar and J2/J3 into a dream. Basic character build like Cyborg. Zod, Flash, Batman, DD, Bane, HG all get cool shit for their design and trait. Just feels unfair to Joker mains, the good Joker mains too.

I like this game's neutral. I love the zoning, I love the footsies. I disliked interactables at first but the meta has gotten to the point where they are for the most part fair. I love how unique every character is and how this game manages to function balance-wise despite how off-the-wall almost every character is.

What I don't like is the amount of characters who thrive off of safe 50/50s and vortexy set-ups. Also this is the most cliche gripe ever with this game but I've never been a fan of how few characters have viable AA options.
Come on papi, if you play Zod and GL, you can't share a opinion on interactables when characters like the Joker and NW exist who don't have much options except perfect spacing and timing on back dash to avoid those unblockables.

DP is -5.
I did say on venom didn't I the only option is to mbb3 or do a multihitting normal I realize it's not 0 doesn't mean it's not a dumb move. I don't have a problem with Bane I was just using that move as one of my examples.

And as for Youphemism yes but it's the move in combination with all of MMHs other crap I know it can be MBB3 but not when he's crossing you up with it because of course it'll cross up or hitting it on top of orbs. As for cartwheel that's why sonicfox just fucking does it whenever the fuck he wants. Because it's punishable right?

I'm a big fan of this game I've been playing it for over a year but come on guys there's dumb shit. I still love it.

Injustice is not your traditional fighting game so you have to take it for what it is and abuse your characters' broken aspects (some obviously more over-powered than others).

If the game doesn't make you salty or rage every now and then, you're doing it wrong (or maining Aquaman / Batgirl / Martian Manhunter :p).

If you prefer Mortal Kombat to Injustice, keep playing the game(s) that make you happy. Ultimately, we all need to support NRS titles so they can continue making the games we love to play for many years to come.

With that said (not to derail / go off track), my personal gripe with IGAU is how safe or un-punishable many things are (which is not a big deal).....that's about it.

Aside from the sheer one sidedness of certain MU's, the only issue I have with this game is guaranteed interactables on certain characters, but interactables have been in this game since launch, and these possibilities have always been there, so just another thing you have to accept if you choose to play at this point.

Let me just say I'm happy interactables are blockable (supposedly) in MKX. :p

Disclaimer: This is from the point of view of a Green Lantern main.

1. Repetitive Interactables - I love interactables. They help make the game different then every other 2D fighter on the market. However, there are way too many downward projectile interactables. Most of the interactables for power characters seem to be downward projectiles and there are even ones that gadget characters can use as well. They need to mix it up more for the next game.

2. Weird Corner Hit box- Theres a whole thread about this that Chaosphere posted.

3. OP special moves and Wake ups- Guessing certain characters wake ups are really hard. Mainly Doomsday. If we compare this game to SF4 or even MK9 it always seemed like there was usually an easy and safe option against wake ups. At least something so the person defending the wake up could at least let them wake up and nobody would be at advantage. Maybe I'm out of line here, but in either case it is annoying and unfun at times.

4. Scorpion- This game really didn't need a guest character, because this game is essentially "Guest Characters: the Game". Plus the DC Universe has so many fan favorites and cult heroes that there really isn't room for him. I also hate fighting him. Even after his nerf it still feels like one big guessing game. Either naked jump forward or duck or walk forward. No zoning of any kind allowed. I don't care if you can stop shut him down. I can't and it's not fun for me.

Those problems a side I like the game, and more importantly I like the game as a whole.

I'm speaking on the game as a whole, not my main. Even though they benefit my characters I always thought they were kind of unfair, but in the past couple months I have played a ton of people who can deal with them on reaction.

Don't give me that "YOU PLAY AQUAMANNNNNNN" shit, it's not like I haven't watched other people play this game.

MK1 is the best MK period.
