There's nothing wrong with a company trying to sell a product. The question is how much do they spend on marketing vs. how much do they spend on development. Recent trends are veering more towards marketing than development which obviously is not desirable to the consumer. It's obviously working, or else they wouldn't do it. All the same I don't have to partake in supporting it.

The next issue is false advertisement. Which is a major issue with some games. There are multiple cases in the past that have shown this. Watch Dogs, Aliens, etc. have all been heavily criticized for not delivering the product they marketed so heavily.

Now again nobody is saying that NRS is doing this, by and large people really like them as a developer. But it can become a slippery slope when they start implementing these practices. Dark Souls 2 for example as somebody stated above was a game that was shipped complete with no BS, there was no content sitting on the disk that needed to be unlocked or was pending a DLC release, you got the full product un segmented. It was only later after the game was released that the developer had more time to develop more content for the game and then sell it.

The fear is these practices will lead to fragmented games with day 1 DLC (For content already on the disk). And the only way to prevent that reality is to not cater to the business practices.

Well I for one can't pre-order. I depend on another person with an international credit card and such person will logically only buy it when it's out. So I'm not entirely happy about this.

is it gamestop preorder or somewhere else?
is goro unlockable in game or a e5 dlc if not pre ordered?
will this like be like mk9 klassic kostumes preorders where if you dont get goro as a preorder you have to wait months to get him?

@tylerlansdown any chance you could shed any light on any of those???

Telling people its ok because everybody does it is the worst thing a consumer can do. Telling people not to complain about products because they're going to buy them anyway is a close second. Last but not least, just as many regular posters are going to buy it and bitch about balance, missing characters, costumes, story elements, voices, animations, or any other part of the package so why should people upset about this be resigned to some sort of TYM code of silence?

I don't get why so many people here are complaining about the pre-order thing, because 90% of this forum is going to get it day 1 anyway.


You could literally just spend the 60$ dollars 4.13.2015 and get Goro.

Even then, $5 isn't a serious fucking investment or hard to come by in the first place, you could find that much in change by just walking around and picking up coins off of the street for an hour, or you could just ask someone for $5.

You know you can cancel your pre-order day one, and even after the game has been released if you're seriously that skeptical about the quality, right?

You put money down but they can't just keep it if you don't want the game, that's not how it works.

So I assume he will have a grappler and a zoning variation. I wonder what the third one will be. Probably counter zoning with telestomps and deflect/armor/absorbs?

Why does everyone keep saying "balanced" Goro would be cool? Like they wouldn't still use him if he was fuckin OP. I know I would.

I can see a counter zoning variation, but not a straight up zoning one... not for Goro at least. The idea of a zoning Goro makes me do this :confused:

Also, Goro is a fucking bad ass boss. It's so sick that he'll be playable for the first time in an MK game. How can anyone not be hype about this? :confused:

I figured they would go for another April release. Now we have our date set. Happy about that. Not feeling Goro as a playable char though since that knocks any possibility of Sheeva making a return out of the park. She never had a chance to live and be good this time around :(

It would not be suffering for me. When someone is getting paid to advertise and market a product, that makes it biased and not entirely factual.

And no, you are not a bad person lol ... to each his own, this is my own.
