Need some advise..

Hey guys..I need some real help.

To give a bit of back story, and keep it short as possible, I bought Injustice day 1 and enjoyed the hell out of it. Bought the dlc, spent hours daily in training. I wasn't tourney level (no scene around my area so it really didn't matter), but I thought I was at least decent in the game. Then I fell out of it for a couple of months, things happen, new games come out..that sort of thing.

Then this EVO came and passed, and my interest was rekindled. Started back up this week, spent many hours in the lab..only to find out that I really do blow when it comes to facing people. I wasn't bad when I left, now nothing comes out right, moves don't come out when I do the input, my normals get stuffed every time. I just can't get anything going.

I have been advised by a friend on PSN (I'm still on PS3 if anyone was wondering) to use Flash, Wonder Woman, or Aquaman, but honestly, never had any desire to play with any of them, not for much longer than about 10 minutes. I used to run Batgirl, but now playing with her feels like a complete chore. The only characters I actually gravitate to are Scorpion (who I spent more than half my play time grinding him) and Lobo (Trying to pick up..with not much success), they are the only ones I really like.

Am I just getting to frustrated to quickly? Do I need to find a group of people I can actually play with on a fairly regular basis? Or is it just time for me to call it a day and just move on? I'm not trying to sound facetious, I'm asking in earnest. I still like the game, I just don't know what to do.

Any help or advise is appreciated.

I honestly gave up the game a few months after I bought it. It wasn't until lobo came out when I realised that's the character I wanted to main. He revitalized my passion for the game even though he was ass. Find a character that excites you and get great with him

Just play lobo bro. If you were pretty good before, then it's probably your inputs and timing. I have to get my fingers used to injustice every time I take only a week off lol. The netcode is kinda of bad so that could also be a factor. Just have fun. I really had a tough time getting good with Ares but I got used to him. If u want to run a set on ps3 we can.

That does sound nice. I have also been messing around with a few other characters..mostly Deathstroke and Raven (I really do wish they had their Animated costumes and voices..definite step up). Liking Raven..I dunno, still deciding. I really wish Scorpion was better. Yeah, I do understand he was broken and needed fixing.

Dude, I'm in the same boat, and my pad's going to shit on top of that. Honestly, I'd say play around with people and just find someone who clicks. Might not be someone you liked at first, but it'll be easier to deal with your messups with a character you are comfortable playing. There's always Doomsday at the end of the day

I think the issue is online. Are you wired? Do you drop things when playing in training mode/ladder offline?

You just need to practice and practice and practice some more. Find a character that truly interests you. Lobo is really fun and good when you start understanding him and using his tools properly.

Keep in mind you've been out for a while; the game has evolved and more people have improved. Just be patient and ask for games from people on this site and you'll definitely get better.

Nah, unfortunately..I am wireless. Some of my connections are very good..others..not so much.

As for dropping stuff offline, I would be lying if I said I never do, but it is extremely rare, and I typically know what I do wrong (Mostly punching in inputs to soon or to late).

Yeah it's just online don't break a sweat. Just try to get used to the timing, plug in the ethernet cable and pray it works.

Yeah its because you chose 2 characters with rather harder execution than others. I could not play lobo no matter how much I wanted to, I just couldn't connect b3 on any combo, and its funny because I can hit killerfrost's combos which some would say requires more execution, and these guys are right at first glance of the roster which has superman, flash , gl, bataman etc.. who is going to say " I want to play killer frost" at first I only wanted to play all the main heroes and villains but after time with the game I ended up trying killer frost and loving her. my advice is try and find another character with easier execution like superman, batman, gl, shazam, or doomsday and work your way up to lobo.

I hated injustice for a long time because of b2b but then I started playing Lobo and something clicked.

As of recently, I have been messing around with Raven and Batman as of late.

Although I do like Raven's range capabilities and her damage output, I'm not the biggest fan of her trait, mostly this coming off using someone like Scorpion who is used to only using the trait in very specific circumstances. If I do end up picking Raven, it would just be something I would hafta get in the habit of utilizing.

As far as Batman goes..honestly, I prefer to play fighters on the aggressive side with some versatility to be able to go on defense if needed. It seems, to some degree anyways, that Batman WOULD be that character..but even from the demo, it just never really clicked for me. Granted, I am warming up to him some now..but I still haven't had that "Ah Ha" moment.

Gonna keep grinding in practice/battle mode at the moment just to get the basic feel of them (Since my net is being pretty bad right now).

As a player coming from Mortal Kombat 9 and trying to find his way into Injustice. Having zero idea who the DC characters were in Injustice I had to go with my personal playstyle in order to find out a main for myself. So I think it would be best for you to find out what sort of playstyle you like. Grappler, rushdown, mixups, footsies, turtle, etc. If your uncertain because of your lack of playing fighting games perhaps dabbling in all the characters is in order. Just go into the lab with each character and just mess around with their strings, trait and specials. See what "feels" decent to you. Narrow things down from there. As you narrow it down things will hopefully will be calling out to you.

If your looking to begin tournament play with any of these characters. I would suggest checking out some youtube videos of people playing as these characters and get an idea how they are played and go from there. I hope this helps. If you have further questions let me know.

By this description, i would recommend batman (as you have said), superman, deathstroke, or nightwing. These are the types of characters that fit your style that i can think of off the top of my head. I hope this helps or at least gets you closer to the "one." I know know for the first few months of this game i had trouble clicking with a character until i found sinestro and i've loved playing him ever since. Once you start getting the injustice feel back, i think you'll find the character for you

You can also think of playing someone outside of your comfort zone. I used to play only rush down characters, but that all changed when I met nu-13 lol. Plus, learning how to play different styles of characters can really increase your total fighting game prowess.

Outside the box is a bit...iffy in this case. It seems easier for me in other fighters (Street Fighter 4 and Soul Calibur 2 come to mind - Dee Jay + Hakan and Talim + Necrid respectively for mains. Sonya for MK9). For SC2, probably the game I have the most experience with, it was a bit easier for me to switch to different characters. May not been the best at a Mitsirugi or a Nightmare, but could hold my own pretty well. This game..I dunno, I can't seem to wrap my mind around many of the characters. Maybe it's the way the game is designed, maybe it's cause I don't get enough offline practice with other people. I'm not sure.

By no means does this means I'm not trying other characters out..I've so far tried out again Black Adam, Shazam!, Zod, and Martian Manhunter. Surprised most by Shazam! actually. Still gonna fiddle around some with some other characters..

Lol try Ares. He's low tier but he's really fun to me.

I'm actually starting to warm up to Shazam!. He's got some pretty good stuff...mostly need to get used to his button inputs (tired of getting low grab when I wanted mid grab x.x). His damage output, at times, is completely insane.
Lol yea he looks fun to play. I kinda want to play lex.

Well, went online for my first lil set with SHAZAM!. He was a lot of fun. Granted, I kept messing up combos just 'cause I've trained myself with other characters. It would be just time to go to training and just drill for hours.
