Question Do You Honestly Think Nightwing Is Underrated?

It seems there are 3 groups of people:
"Nightwing is solid mid-tier, possibly the very bottom of upper-mid" - Generally populated by NW mains
"Nightwing is secret top 10, NW mains just downplay him" - Generally populated by those with a lack of NW experience
"Nightwing is ass" - I'm guessing their main bodies NW, or they're just really good at seeing through his shenanigans

You say we underrate him, but where would you place him?

I'll say my honest opinion about the character. He is a good character. There is a catch though, way too many other characters are better. He's more of a balanced character in a game of broken shit. He has decent damage and a good corner presence. What holds him back is lack of defensive options in escrima and his ability to chase down characters and avoid intractables. I've always said that if he had BM's or DS's jump with a double jump and faster walk speed to get around intractables he would be MUCH better. Overall he is overrated by many that don't play him. He is mid low tier. He has too many losing matchups. Who gives a shit if he goes even with 3 or 4 top tier. This game is entirely matchup based and he gets beat the majority of the time.

Sometimes when people talk about nightwing I think about joker. Almost everything you said can be applied to him. And sometimes vice-versa

There's nothing to apologize for, what I said still stands lol. Idc if you made top 8, that doesn't mean your opinion is factual. You still blatantly insulted other players.

Edit: honestly it makes sense that you think nightwing players all suck.. If you main GL atleast. That's a difficult matchup for nightwing no doubt.

A character's balance isn't defined by MUs or whether or not he can implement his gameplan. The character's tools are what determine whether they are balanced or not. Im familiar with the characters tools because I played him since day 1, but whether he can zone or not in a specific MU it doesn't change his balance. Just means he has to implement different strategies for different MUs and situations

This entire thread is just another opportunity to bash majority of the NW community because they are supposedly not good enough and for every person, including those who don't understand the character, to set their standards for NW players abd place him in inaccurate tiers and display their ignorance of how this character works. But still fun to see what people say lol

Hahaha sorry but I've never seen a NW say he's solid mid/upper-mid, most of the time it's complaints about his tools. (That doesn't mean all, don't take that the wrong way)
It's not about Nightwings placement in a tier list, but if it were to place him somewhere I'd say he's solid mid-high tier. I wouldn't say top 10 but maybe not so far under it. It's just that the Nightwings tend to downplay by what they say:
"No (there may be a 'decent' here) anti-air"
"So what if he has plus frames? He has no options after them"
And you tell us things like to block high in escrima but when we say he has too many plus frames you say duck the highs?! We can't duck high and low at the same time...

He does have decent options, but when people outside the NW community start discussing them the NWs come in and make it sound like they're not viable/he has nothing :rolleyes:

Is it downplaying if it's the truth?

112, the string that's like plus 20, is duckable on the 2. That's the only string you need to duck. Literally everything else block high.

Of course, we could sweep you for our only low. Such options, yes.

I could have been rude and named players but I didn't.

So, if it doesn't matter if I made top 8 or not, why would you bring up success in the first place in this matter? Keep making yourself look dumb, bro. You talked shit to someone and had to backpedal to save face.

Nightwing players for the most part aren't very good in my opinion. Compare the best nightwing(s) to the best Aquaman player(s), the best Superman Player(s), etc. etc. and you'll see there's a pretty big skill gap. If you can't see that I'm sorry but it's true.

And when I said underrated, I meant by TYM forums. Look at the Nightwing forums and tell me it isn't terrible. They say their character is bottom 3-5. Come on now. Nightwing is a lot better than they want to give him credit for.

It's downplaying when there is an option and you say two opposing things.

Yeah but that's my point, you guys said block high all the time but then went to say duck moves like that. Don't say one thing then say something different lol

And I've cleared this up several times, and for some reason you continue to hold that to me even though I cleared it up, but I meant it can be fuzzied not reacted. I didn't realise that's what fuzzying was at the time.

Also you lost to a Cyborg with Martian. Your opinion is invalid. :joker:
