*you're

and yes I am..... it just went way over your head to the point that you had to bring up a completely new topic.
Ok *you're just acting like a dickhead now..Like I said those casuals bring in more money then us period.
What are you even talking about? What does "developing for casuals" and "developing for the tourney scene" mean that MK isn't already doing?
He doesn't even know wtf he is talking about.

To be fair, your response before this one was really vague. It probably did go over his head just as it went over mine.

You said casuals don't know the difference between the technical aspects of the game. That's true. Then you asked "Why develop for them?" He responded with, "Because they bring in the big money." Then you responded with "Now we're not talking about the same thing." And shortly after had to make a jab at his competence for not understanding what you were saying when you weren't being clear.

Don't be a dick.

I hatelove this game
I think its smart to add new characters into the original roster and then add fan favorite old school characters as DLC. This guarantees that people will buy DLC instead of picking and choosing whether they want freddy or skarlet.

But Ed Boon I swear to you...if Nightwolf is a DLC character I might kill you.

You like "NW" characters, don't you? =P

Nightwolf and Nightwing.

EndofGameBoss

That's about right.
To be fair, NRS is the only company that pronounces 'Raiden' as Ray-den. Both the many games called Raiden and the MGS character named Raiden are pronounced the other way.
Well the guy in the video claims to be the "fighting game player" there so, he should know how pronounce it.

"On your Knees!"
Some characters will be consule exclusive Xbox360 players complained that Kratos was only on PS huh smh :DOGE

MKF30

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11
Interesting, though I think the PS character exclusive will be Sweettooth if it is, I won't care lol. Imagine if Xbox got Predator haha, THAT I'd be down with.

But I do find the story element cool and I think K.Kahn will either hook up with D'vorah or she'll work with him/for him, then something will happen that she won't like and turn good. Cause she seems to be repulsed by Kano who is honestly just a thug when you think about it. Just a theory of mine.

Interesting to see an MK with more new guys than old, haven't been that excited since MK 2 and MK 3. Please just put in Ermac and Fujin or one of them at least. After reading this now i'm not so sure.

RunwayMafia

Shoot them. Shoot them all.
Actually they can

a casual fan will NOT know the difference, nor will they care. They just want an MK game.

I'm surprised more places don't develop FOR the tournament scene....... as that is where the true longevity and passion lies. They're going to sell the game on name and "fun factor" alone. Why not develop the game geared towards the people who are going to break it down the most?
No need to try and explain this logic to naive members, lol.

You are 100% accurate.

MK outsells it's competitors solely on IMAGE and NOTORIETY, not on the way it's "played". Trust me, when I first picked up MK9 (before discovering the competitive scene and TYM) I was surrounded by casual gamers who couldn't care less about frame data, set ups, mix ups, or anything that had to do with the input of moves or balance. CASUALS DO NOT CARE.

The casual gamer that contributed to MK's global success was due to their liking of violence, blood, gore, and the ability to do a "cool ass fatality at the end of the fight, bro!!!".

NRS could literally make MKX have 1 frame links and a handful of charge characters and they will still outsell their competitors. They absolutely should start designing their games for the competitive FGC because they already know that their brand is a MASSIVE commercial success.

Not one casual gamer will be deterred from purchasing a future MK game because it is designed for the technical, hardcore competitors. Can you imagine a casual MK fan looking at footage of a "harder to play" MK and saying, "nah bro, it looks super dark and bad ass, but nah, it sounds too complicated to play!"??? No.

Sounds like NRS is going all out on this game in terms of creativity to the point where Boon admits that it would be hard to top it off when they have to make a game after this one. Wow, this game is going to be freaking amazing! I can't wait to pop that disk in to my ps4.

As for casuals vs. tournament players, yep MK sells mostly for it's visual appeal and not so much for the technicality. I sometimes hear people claim to be hardcore MK players, but they are only insrested in the characters and storyline, not so much of the deep mechanics. Personally, I like both because it makes the game have more replay value. When I started to learn about the technical aspects of MK9, the game felt fresh for a while because there was always something to discover. hell I didn't even know you could dash cancel with block for faster mobility till I came here and read about it.
