Who has Something To Prove in MKX: 'Return of The Footsie'

@AK Pig Of The Hut what's your opinion on using an alt to cover 1 or 2 bad MUs? Do you have to be able to play against every character with only one main, or is it enough just to be able to play against every character?
Definitely recommend knowing your co mains bad MUs as well because below example can happen

I lose w ZOD game 1 vs Jupiter
Game two I win w LEX
Game 3 he uses superman

In the end IMO your main is always best

He's the one exception which I've already mentioned in older posts.
Every other NRS game Evo was won by characters with teleports

Kung Lao twice
Cyrax
And batgirl.

Incidentally, a non teleport character has never won a mortal kombat Evo. I've also stated that superman being used to win Evo merely shows what attributes a non teleport character must have to win that tournament. So, by all means, if you find a pre patch superman type character in mkx then use them. But, I bet they get patched just like he did. And teleporters will reign again. Book it!

Not sure if rhetorical but if not: no nd does not count as a teleport. It's pretty much the only move kabal has never been given, for obvious reasons.
I'm sorry but cyrax didn't win cause he has a tele nor was that ever a positive talking point

Interesting thread..

I dont think I need to prove too much, but I plan on being more dangerous in MKX than I was in MK9.

Final Round 2013: http://www.finalround.org/results/FR16mk9.cfm
17th place with Skarlet. Lost to Kitana

i.

This is my entire tournament history. I have NEVER placed top 8. That HAS to change in MKX and better yet in Injustice.
That was the most heartbreaking match I ever had to play in tournament.

That and also when I consoled blake promising he would make top 8 there too and I was the one to eliminate him an hour later after comforting him lol

I'm sure others would disagree with me but I feel I have nothing to prove, just knowing what I can do regardless of anyone elses opinion. I'm actually concerned about me going ham around the beginning of MKX's lifespan, I feel if I do my character will be unjustly nerfed yet again just like MK9.

Best Doomsday in the world
Liking the game and the character you play is very important too. I know after NEC I took a huge hit and went into a giant character crisis because I didn't think Doomsday could handle himself alone, definitely still don't but it was nowhere near as bad as I thought. He only really has 1-3 match ups I'd pick a different character for and even then you don't really need to, as Whiteboi and Noobe constantly show people even though I think they're fucking nuts for not having secondaries.

Then right after SCR I kinda just stopped caring about the game and told myself the game sucked so obviously I did super poorly. UFGT was a similar situation.

Then right around a week before MLG I decided that Injustice wasn't necessarily a bad game and I actually played a character that could make the game about footsies and I had been wrong for pretty much my entire major lifespan of injustice and was only bitter because I wasn't doing as well as Noobe/WB. And not so surprisingly MLG and EVO turned out to be two of my best placings at majors. Not that my placings at either of those tournaments was very good but it was significantly higher than SCR and UFGT.

Attitude is a huuuuuuge part of being a tournament player. You can't "prove yourself" and get top 8 if you're sitting around saying the game and your character suck. And if you can realize that, and get on your own case instead of the games case, you'll place a lot better and feel a lot better about your play. I don't know why the fuck I went on this tangent but I literally just woke up 4 minutes ago and I felt like doing this for some reason.

I edited this like 4 times because of random ass spelling/grammar errors. Sorry.

Well Tom's fighting game history goes way back, some of the top players will probably never have the same resume unless they are going to play competitively until they are like 40. The top players who didnt like injustice and quit also happen to have one of the best FG resume.

i think INJ players can and will prove that they are good in MKX, people like Theo, jupiter, Digit, Max, myself etc need to make a statement when the game releases. i know i will have access to the NYC scene and i know we will go hard in MKX. if i turn out to suck in MKX i will be really surprised, as well as the above mentioned players and everyone else i didn't mention. the return of greats like CDjr, Detroit ballin, Reo, etc with combination of the new players, MKX will be hella fun. also i really don't want any outside Scenes to dominate us early in the game lifes span. that means if Jwong, floe, chris g etc come in and start mopping us up i will be really disappoint and will make it my mission to gatekeep these guys out of our top 8's. not saying i don't like them playing MKX, but that if they don't put full effort into MKX like the rest of us i don't see how we should lose to them. also i can't wait to see brand new blood as well. every generation there's always a few new players that take the community by storm, like honeybee, harold, FK jr, caption O2, Digit etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if guys like ChrisG do very well at the beginning of mkx. I mean chrisg got 4th or 5th at Ceo this year just with his day 1 green arrow. Some Like chris just have really good fundamentals even if they don't train as hard
