Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition [PC] Game Update Details

Before anyone gets too excited, to my knowledge this is for PC/Steam users only! Coming from the Steam Community website, it appears that NetherRealm Studios have updated the PC version of Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition with numerous updates. The updates seem to focus primarily on online improvements and do not seem to cover gameplay.

As many community members have noticed, Warner Brothers and NetherRealm have released a significant update for Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition on Steam.

Here is a list of changes in this update:
Updated the game launcher
o Added video card selection option
- Fixes auto-detection problems on laptops with Optimus technology
- Solves performance issues for many laptops with dual GPUs
o Added support for letterbox display toggle
- Fixes problems with 4:3 and 5:4 aspect ratios
Several performance optimizations
Changed video settings options
o Added ability to toggle memory restriction
- Removed region lock for multiplayer matchmaking
o Allows for a larger pool of online players
- However, very long distance matches may experience slower network performance
Improvements to online multiplayer
o Fixed issues with Private Matches
o Updated KOTH
o Fixed multiplayer crashes
Fixes and updates for several peripherals
Removed microphone support from voice chat
o Players may use Steam Chat

I didn't test extensively but the one bug that I thought they fixed is still there, which is game crashing when inviting people to private 1v1 matches using the in-game invite option.

Their gfx optimization was actually good, you can now get 60 fps with higher resolutions than previously.
Also thank god they turned off the microphone.

Ugh..I literally just care about the 1v1 crash bug...

I actually prefer no mic in games lol, party chat's overrated. And annoying, no screaming little kids when you're playing lol. Yes I know you can mute but point is I shouldn't have to. One thing I've always liked about a lot of PC games just text option is fine enough.

I'd get this if my PC could run it, don't think it can just a basic PC nothing fancy lol.

You couldn't turn off the mic before, and it was annoying. Now they turned it off completely and you can't turn it on.

With the graphics optimization in this patch your PC has now a chance of running it, even if it's not fancy.

Did they fix the diagonal inputs so you can jump uf and ub with plug and play controllers like the ds4?

Interesting, seems they went from one radical option to one radical change with the mic. At least you can still chat/text right? Usually most people on PC's can type pretty fast(most people, there's always the hunt and peckers)

Really? Hmmm Isnt there a way to check the specs of your PC some how?

You see people coz there is no region locking anymore. Beside some small fixes they didn't change much. It's still crap mostly. Patching after a year of release ... lets see ... somebody really want to show off here. To what end? Obviously to get MK X PC port contract (HVS is dreaming about it). :>

Aww I liked being able to use my Mic in the game. I always gave running commentary for people and talked to them. I'm going to miss that feature :'(

I want WB or NRS to lead them on and make them think they're gonna get it if they patch MK9 and Injustice, then tell them to go fuck themselves.

I don't think that HVS have any power over MKKE build Steam uses. If it's indeed them who work on it, they probably still need WB's blessings to do that, and it's probably WB that contact Valve (or whatever department handles Steam) on the matter of updates anyway.
Granted, I have no clue on how this actually works.

If you now choose the advanced options before launching the game, you can see a new option:

Multiplayer Distance Filter: Close, Nearby, Far, Worldwide.

Wrong. It's still HVS. Confirmed by one of Steam code digging site. Either they want the MK X port contract or even worse they already have it and are just testing stuff before MK X port.

Wait, you mean HVS, and not WB, own MKKE?
