Injustice + EVO + Community: My Thoughts (Very Long + Covers a lot)

Insuperable

My mom tells me I'm pretty
lol so i am the only one that wants to be the best with their character then? or am i the only one who talks about it publicly?
Everyone has a competitive drive to be the best with their character
Khaotik vs 16 Bit (Kitana)
Curbo vs Dizzy (Cage)
Filipino Man vs EliteGoomba (Wonder Woman)
Whiteboi vs Noobe (Doomsday)
Shudinkydink vs Outworld (Quan)
The entire Green Arrow community
REO vs Jupiter (MMH)
Decay vs Captain Oxygen (Lobo)

All of them strive to be the best at their character because that will obviously give them better results in tournaments, but all of them also want to improve their character as friends/together. A lot of these people constantly talk about their character together and help develop them, but they are all friends and don't force the "I'm #1" thing. I have learned this, and that is why I'm the yung Soup now.

Tbh, a little competition for the top spot of said character is a good thing. It's extra incentive to build up your play with said character, and further advance the character. Just don't forget that you wanna be the best player, period.
Yeah, I agree. But getting emo just because you're not seen as the current best is dumb imo. Specially because Honeybee has put a lot of work on his Flash as well.

Out of curiosity, how did you know some people were not supporting Theo? What brought that up?
I have ears everywhere, some have told me to my face and I talk to everyone who talk to everyone either privately or publicly

I wouldn't make this up, I'm doing here what u should be doing there and getting these people straight ing out because honestly if it were you in theo shoes id do same thing as I did w tyrant with west coast complaining about Grundy calling him top 3

Good post, Pig. But to be fair a lot of us are playing Ultra over Injustice for a whole gamut of reasons. Sure, I'm definitely playing SF to help improve my footsies for MKX (which will be my main game when it drops, no excuses, no bullshit. I'm coming for fucking scalps.) but some, including me, have simply fallen out of love with Injustice. There's a lot of gimmicky shit to this game and in many ways I feel like I've reached a personal plateau in IGAU so I'm stepping over to Capcom and Anime, not just to become better in those games, but to become a more well rounded FG player coming into MKX. Also, straight up, I'm having more fun playing Sakura that I ever did playing Supes or WoWo.

I'm about to pick up LOBO to see if I can't get back into this game, but I personally feel like I'm not learning to much from it anymore. That's when it comes down to a personal level. Not everyone can pick things up from the same games in the same ways. Some need different approaches and perspectives on how FG's operate to improve. IGAU wasn't helping me improve my execution or my spacing, so I started playing Ultra and BlazBlue. And you know what? I'm nailing these 1f links. I'm remembering bigger and more complicated combos. My pokes are crispy and my whiff punishes are fucking mean.

You're absolutely right. But a lot of us, myself included, feel that we're not improving as FG players by playing Injustice, so we're exploring other games. I don't hate on anyone for doing what they need to do to improve, whether it's IGAU, Ultra, or fucking Divekick. To each, his own.
Exactly. Agreed 100%. Inj is gimmicky as fuck and super scrub friendly is not even fun anymore.

People can say whatever they want about MK9 but at least a mid level player would never be able to random, scrub out a win vs a super high level player.

The way you "hollywood" people try to police everything is literally physically sickening to me.

You guys are so embarassing.

Honestly, this type of thing needs to stop within our community, because a ton of games have shit like this. It happens, and has been happening since fighting games took on the traditional format you've been seeing since 1991. I can't think of a heavily played fighting game that's not exempt from this.

For the record, you are one of the most passive aggressive people that I know.

This is honestly one of the only threads I've actually sat and read through on TYM in a while.

We as a community have to drop all the drama and all the bullshit and leave it in the past for MKX. I come from the Smash community and tbh I've never seen so much dysfunction as I have ever since picking up Injustice. On smash forums we were all like a huge team, helping each other out and really showing that we were a COMMUNITY. I don't get that sense here and as much as I'd love to raise my NRS flag up with pride I just can't. I'm really hoping that when MKX drops we can leave all these childish discussions about who the best is behind because although it doesn't seem like it, it really does just bring us all down. I will continue to play Injustice and do as many streams as I can to support this community because I've genuinely gained a lot of friends through it but I'm just hoping we all mature by this time next year.

Competition is always a good thing but not when it gets malicious. We don't need one scene bashing the other scene or one coast bashing the other coast. I just want to be able to come onto TYM without seeing someone getting called out or someone being attacked for having an opinion. Granted, heads will clash at times but that doesn't mean that we can't just actually sit down and handle things like adults.

While I'm on the subject of handling things like an adult I want to publicly apologize to @SonicFox5000 . He probably had no idea who I was up until about a week ago and to be honest I just have to get this out there. I used to publicly bash him on my stream and in stream chats at majors. Maybe it was the salt of always seeing him do well but it was completely uncalled for and even though he may not have known who I was it is the fact that I was doing it that matters. I've gained a lot of respect for him since EVO and I truly believe that he will do just as well in MKX as he's doing right now. I just want to say I'm sorry, dude. You deserve all the success you have EARNED up until this point because you truly do bust your ass in each game you play and I hope to be half the player you are in MKX.

I hatelove this game
Isnt real life serious enough? I love trolling people on the forums. Have I done shit in this game? No! Was making my post final round thread awesome? Yes!

Watching everyone squirm when I made that post was lots of fun. I certainly want to be the best with my character. Always do always will. A part of that post was serious. The other part was jabbing intentionally.

I have tried playing Grundy, arrow, cyborg, scorpion, wonder woman, and Aquaman. However when I stuck with my guns I had the most success.

I agree with pigs post in that this game needs more character loyalists. Therefore I'll be playing Nightwing and only Nightwing for the duration of this game's life until MK X

The Beautiful thing about the community is everyone has a love and interest in the game.

However, what I think gets LOST and FORGOTTEN sometimes is that different players play for different reasons, and get fun out of it in different ways.

This holds true in our everyday lives, not just the FGC. A lot of times we as people think our way of doing something is the only right way to do it.

Me personally, I just Love seeing the game played at the highest level and I enjoy watching ALL OF YOU GUYS rock against each other.

But I have to tell you guys, I am a fighting game purest, my first fighting game was Street Fighter in 1988 and Ive been a FG junkie ever since.

So all the props taking, props fishing, excuse making, option selecting etc that goes on here on a daily basis, that shit just goes right out the window with me.

You will neither gain props, or lose props because of your character choice. This is competition, everyone is going into battle with the weapon that they think gives them the best chance to win.

I know after a loss it can make you feel better to say "Gee golly, if my character could do XYZ, or if I used a Top Tier I would be winning these tournies, yuck yuck yuck"

But we all know 9 times out of 10, the reality is the players that say that shit dont possess the skill needed to do whats being done with the character they are complaining about.

Top 8 could be all Aquamen and I would still be excited to watch it, because a character being played at a high Level in ANY fighting game will always be a thing of beauty, no matter what game, no matter what stage.

To the stream monsters that came here to diss counter pickers.... Sigh really? People pay money and spend time to go to tournaments, let them choose whoever they want.

Who cares if you counter pick or not? It's called playing to win.
If you are a char loyalist thats fine, both should get the same respect.

I understand, I quit playing and bashing Inj long time ago. Its just that it pisses me off how we get called out for the wrong reasons.

One last thing I forgot. Can we PLEASE stop bashing people that only play online? The fact that a lot of you guys are so militant on offline performances really does put me off. I know my feelings are not at the top of anyone's list but the elitism shown here is really something that gets on my nerves. It's almost like if you don't have a top 8 placing then instantly whatever opinion you have is deemed invalid and therefore whatever it is you say holds no meaning.

I've held my tongue from posting on here a lot simply because I'm an online player. I feel as though whatever I say will be seen by someone that placed offline and I'll be bashed for it. This should be a place where people can come and share things they know about their characters and their knowledge about the game. Whether you have online or offline experience should be irrelevant. I understand that this may never happen but I hope that this elitism at least dies down a bit for MKX.
Remember you guys, @HoneyBee was strictly an online player aside from his local that he went to where he and Biohazard dominated.

i agree with what you are saying, but what you are describing isn't me. https://www.youtube.com/user/zyph0x all the tech i've ever found i posted, not once have i hid tech, and if i ever said i was going to i succumbed and posted it anyway. i could be friends with all the flash players in the world, still doesn't take away my competitive drive to be the best and to be known as the best with a character or player in general. then you have people who are going around naming "best of said character" left and right and in this particular post i wasn't even mentioned. yes i may have an ego problem and its honestly more than meets the eye, some people just want to be the best or considered the best, and i believe most of us do but for social reason don't announce it like some do. in all honest i want to be the best player in the world, thats my goal, and my first to is to conquer my character since i am a character loyalist. i know i not the best player in the world, but i worked hard everyday to get where i am with flash (hence my goal to be the best flash). once i thought i did it i tried to get better as a player, boost up my fundamentals and win tournaments. then i read all this stuff about how honeybee is now the best flash and if your ego doesn't take a hit even slightly then your in the FGC for the wrong reason.
I deadass read this post with this song playing in my head:

Indecisive

We'll burn you all—that is your fate!
