Injustice + EVO + Community: My Thoughts (Very Long + Covers a lot)

I hate when people say @EMPEROR_THEO , @EMPEROR_JUPITER or others who weren't top players at MK9 but are in Injustice are frauds, I know this two players spent a lot of time supporting the game, practicing and getting better. But I can't wait to see all that people STFU once MKX and any other future games come out, because they are not just great IGAU players, they are great fighting game players. I love how they don't say anything and just level up everyday. They don't need to make everyone know they are amazing players, they just prove it with their placements and people still don't STFU.

I am super proud of what I can do with only Catwoman. Like Pig, this year's EVO medal is the most meaningful accomplishment of my career.

But I also love what DJT does where he's not the best with any particular character, he's like a top 3 player with multiple characters and a strong understanding of Injustice fundamentals. I don't feel I am a better player than him. It's just different talents. I couldn't do what he does.

Lol, I get that watching low tiers win a match is hype. But at the same time, you're encouraging those individuals to keep with their characters instead of having a plan for their losing MUs. Basically what I'm trying to say is, you'd rather watch them stick with a character and LOSE instead of doing everything in their power to win? What a supporter you are.

This is in NO way bashing the individual players themselves, I'm just criticizing the viewers that "support" them.
I was one of the people booing you on stream when you picked Aquaman at MLG. But we just do that for the salt of the moment because we wanted to see some Zatanna or Harley action.
You play whatever character you want. You don't owe anyone anything. You already helped the Zatanna community a lot with techs and stuff.
And as you said picking Aquaman is a backup plan. Nothing wrong with having those.

Yeah, it's just very unfortunate. I'm glad all the people I meet in person support my decisions 100%.
I haven't met you in person, but dammit I support a player who wants to win, whether I meet them or not lol.

I have a keen eye for all things broken.
People spend a lot of money/time at these tournaments, when they're down 2-0 on stage, the last thing they care about is "what do the people on stream think of me?". In the future I'd probably use different characters in tougher matchups. I lost 3-0 in a terrible matchup, what do I do? Just accept the fact I'll realistically never be able to win the matchup in tournament or buckle down and learn a counter?

Forget what the stream monsters think of me, I'm all for counter picking and tier whoring. Deg has nothing to be ashamed of.
Exactly. Deg and Sajam should not be given any shit because they are doing what gives them the best chance to win.

Yeah, this whole "Being the best with your character" thing is silly, a lot of characters at a high level only 1 have representative placing and it sucks, you think I like being the only Lobo to place? The Lobo forums are silent. Thankfully I do exchange tech and talk MU's with some people now though, but for the longest time I had no one to level up the character with with. Theres so many things I know now that would've helped me months ago.

People should share tech and play to win, a lot of times people who don't place feel they need some sort of achievement so saying they are "the 3rd best ---" but it means nothing.
Dave and relaxed state and I talk a ton

It's true it's great

i agree with what you are saying, but what you are describing isn't me. https://www.youtube.com/user/zyph0x all the tech i've ever found i posted, not once have i hid tech, and if i ever said i was going to i succumbed and posted it anyway. i could be friends with all the flash players in the world, still doesn't take away my competitive drive to be the best and to be known as the best with a character or player in general. then you have people who are going around naming "best of said character" left and right and in this particular post i wasn't even mentioned. yes i may have an ego problem and its honestly more than meets the eye, some people just want to be the best or considered the best, and i believe most of us do but for social reason don't announce it like some do. in all honest i want to be the best player in the world, thats my goal, and my first to is to conquer my character since i am a character loyalist. i know i not the best player in the world, but i worked hard everyday to get where i am with flash (hence my goal to be the best flash). once i thought i did it i tried to get better as a player, boost up my fundamentals and win tournaments. then i read all this stuff about how honeybee is now the best flash and if your ego doesn't take a hit even slightly then your in the FGC for the wrong reason.

A character loyalist's plan for a losing MU is to study the losing MU, not counterpick. Just ask 16-Bit or Digit. Knowing how you can you punish their wakeups, knowing the spacing and start-up frames on their normals, taking that MU into the lab. Just knowing all of your options against theirs. That is how you outplay your opponent in losing MUs if you are a character loyalist

I've said it before and I'll say it again, nobody gives Theo enough credit about how good he is at both Injustice and with Aquaman. Nobody I've played has ever done about 90% of the things he does to beat me, and it's all the hard work the guy puts in.

I understand why you stopped posting here Pig, there are so many toxic people it's incredible. One of the biggest reasons I stopped playing injustice was how incredible aggressive and overbearing people were to me on the forums, in private messages, and in streams especially. After SCR I heard people were sending hate messages to other NW players because I did well. Even though I wanted to play the game after, the idea of that made me so upset that I didn't even want to force myself to put the game in my console. This is coming from someone who used to get lots of death threat type of messages over stupid YouTube videos.

The only reason I don't want to play MKX is because of the community. Not the guys who head out to torurnaments, who put in work and grind it out, but the people who sit and home playing online and being completely worthless and only talking trash about the people who compete. I know I caused my fair share of problems, and I'm sorry for that, but the amount of absolute garbage that so many people stirred up over nothing during my time playing injustice was so disappointing.

Congrats on how well you did at evo, and hopefully I'll see you around in MKX!
It sucks that you were put in that position. The NW forums were awesome in the beginning, but players stopped playing/switched characters and what remained was abysmal.
In MK9 I was a part of 2 character communities(Skarlet & Liu Kang) that were awesome. People only cared about finding tech, leveling up and helping each other out. There was no hate or rivalries between players. The fact that people send hate messages for switching mains/counter-picking is beyond stupid. At a certain points it's aggravating how your main loses horribly and you come at a points where you decide to switch or simply quit.
I hope you do stick around for MK X and be part of a good character community.

@AK Pig Of The Hut, great post but sucks that community/TYM has come to the point that it's driving the tournament players away.
It was awesome coming here and seeing tournament players discuss, post tech and help out. I hope you decide to just post your tech publicly on youtube and just refrain from posting on TYM.
Dunno if you would be interested in playing a few matches online.

Are you a character loyalist? Have you spent hundreds of Dollars to go to a tournament to have to deal with multiple losing MU's, Have you spent hours, Days, Weeks, Months of hard time into learning or trying to learn a hard MU to only lose every week to the same person over and over because they are playing a Character that goes 7-3 or worse with your character. Character loyalty has its plus sides but it also has many struggles. Sometimes you cannot do anything about a losing MU even more so if the player on the other end is really good or just better than you.

I need to come clean here, because honestly I was hoping for a better opportunity down the line, but it's not coming, I know it.

The reason I joined this community was to get back at you @AK Pig Of The Hut , you said some stuff I didn't like and I made a self pact to make sure that what you said online, that you would be held strictly accountable for it in person. And after you had so many problems come to you when you were helping this growing community, I found a sick sense of satisfaction out of it. What I found when I felt my "revenge" I had a sick sense of satisfaction, and was a shadow of the person I used to be.

Truth be told, I was petty, immature, and stupid. When you had an issue that I agreed (or disagreed) with, I'd just hide away behind my computer, not legitimately having your back. I had no dedication, and had no drive to help the local community level up out of it. I just became a nasty, unkind person to everyone that even crossed my path for everything large and small.

I have to say this, I am sorry how I've treated you and your friends. This community deserves a better class of individual, people that'll put themselves on the line for the betterment of the community. You've always been a better man and helped out so many, regardless of your previous experiences with them, you deserve the credit you get for it.

I don't know what will happen moving forward, but I hope the best for you.

edit: P.S. Take it from me folks, don't take anything someone says to you on forums to heart so that you'd want to screw up their life. There is a person you are responding to you on the other side of the connection, and it's not worth it to spread malice and hatred towards them, revenge isn't worth it, be forgiving and support who and what makes you happy.
I've liked u and your brother from day 1 and will continue to help anyway I can .

You guys are cool w me and thinking of MKU I don't blame u lol

What's the point on being known as "the best X character player"? Like for example... Flash has Honeybee, Zyphox, Harold, Muffin Muggers :DOGE and Big D.... All of them have different playstyles, all of them are great players and all of them can give anyone that Flash work. Same for every character with multiple players. Just do your work with your character.

I want to make a comment on the whole trolls of the world issue.

Bye Felicia them motherfuckers lol. Don't stop spreading knowledge as much as you can just because some vocal clowns wanna ruin the fun. Share your shit and move on. For every troll that wants to shit on your help, there's probably like a host of others who appreciate the tips.

I know this seems like a bid to get Pig back on TYM, but I think you can take that and apply it to pretty much any other forum you go to. Just play, share info, level up, ignore the bullshit, you know?

I'm not sure how much tournament experience you have but you have to think about it.

Before going to events I thought "Well you can win a 7-3 matchup if you just outplay your opponent enough! Top Tiers are Lame!" things aren't that simple. There's a lot of terrible matchups in this game and you have to consider that, not only is your opponent a top player, and is possibly better skilled than you, you have to outplay them and guess right HEAVILY to win in a LONG SET against said TOP PLAYER.

Like no, on paper a cyborg player vs a MMH? a 9-1 Matchup? "Oh well there's still a chance you COULD win"

No.

Tbh, a little competition for the top spot of said character is a good thing. It's extra incentive to build up your play with said character, and further advance the character. Just don't forget that you wanna be the best player, period.
