Just a heads up to anyone not working their dream job, my company is about to launch a national expansion and we're looking to hire "regional managers" that essentially do what I do now (more on that in a sec). Absolutely no experience is required.

The company I work with, Trivia Time, specializes in free-to-play 2-hour live trivia shows hosted in bars, pubs, and restaurants, and they've even partnered with pro sports teams like the Nashville Predators to do mid-game shows. I run the Iowa operation, where I sell shows to venues, hire and train hosts, and run any shows that aren't hosted by someone I've hired. It's the easiest job in the world, it pays crazy well, and I don't have to answer to anyone; I'm my own boss. Because of this job, I have shit loads of disposable income, live a very comfortable life, and have enough free time to not only play a shit load of fighting games, but also to manage my own videogame studio. Right now I work about 12 hours a week but make more than most full-time incomes. It's fucking sweet.

So for our regional managers, it would actually be a bit easier. We're looking for people who could run 1-3 shows a week and manage a small team of hosts. We would handle all of the hiring and training, provide all of the equipment, and work with venue owners to sell new shows, so literally all you have to do is make sure all of your shows are covered and that your hosts are supplied with show materials. The great thing is that as a regional manager you get paid for every show in your area, whether you host it or not. I've got 12 shows a week in my area but I only run 6, which means I get paid for 6 shows every week that I have absolutely no connection with, other than supplying the host with game materials every month or two.

Because of the hours involved, you can even have a full or part-time job (or school) and still use this as an opportunity to bring in supplementary income (I used to work at Gamestop 40 hours a week and run 3 Trivia Time shows every week, before I moved and started my own operation). If this sounds like something you would be interested in, let me know at [email protected] and I'll be happy to answer your questions. We plan to start expanding into new territories by the end of the year, but are looking to start hiring and training regional managers as soon as possible in preparation of the expansion. I know this is kind of an unusual recruitment venue, but I know there are some very smart and ambitious people on these forums who are stuck in jobs they might not like, and who would love more free time to practice and attend tournaments or even go back to school.

-Woody

P.S. We can only hire 21+, since a lot of our venues are bars and pubs.

Here's my girlfriend and me hosting a show at the Brewhouse 100 in Nashville:

- I'm an Operations Manager for a television production company. I manage their offices, including one that I believe is the largest Post facility in the country.
- I've been here for over nine years now, in the industry itself for almost twelve years
- Mattress tester. You come in and sleep for 8 hours. If you sleep in that's overtime. Also get to test the mattress for other uses as well. Since this isn't a realistic job though, my actual dream job is retirement.
Which production company and where?

We may know some of same people

So basically for my main job I:

  • Troubleshoot application and OS issues
  • Troubleshoot computer hardware issues
Basically anything that has a to do with a computer I manage.

I am a telephone interviewer at a market research firm. My actual position is senior interviewer and all I do is sit on the phone in front of a computer and dial numbers (some jobs auto dial on a headset) until some one agrees to participate in the survey.
I do a lot of Biased political polls as well as set up customer review meetings between scumbag Allstate agents and their customers that they don't give a shit about.

I am really fucking good at doing this job... it sucks ass but I can talk extremely fast and memorize scripts like there's no tomorrow. By no means is this job my Dream job in terms of the work that I do. People are fucking assholes and I get shit on daily by people thinking I'm trying to sell them something or harassing them by calling too many times.

I've been at this shit dead end job for 3 years and I honestly hate the work I do. BUT THERE IS AN UPSIDE.
The job place is super chill most of the time. I got caught smelling like weed 3 times and all that was said was "don't let anyone smell that".
Also, Most of my job consists of dialing numbers that no one answers, I would say about 75% of the time I'm at work I'm just waiting for some one to pick up the phone. During this time I get to play on my Nintendo 3ds or kindle fire.

So all in all the reason I stay at this shit job is because I'm a lazy stoner. I get paid to eat cheetos smoke weed and play video games/surf the web while waiting for some one to pick up the phone to take a 5 minute survey with me.

My actual dream job would be Growing weed... I grow straight fire for personal use and if I could turn it into a career that would be amazing.
So basically your one of the guys from workaholics?

Wow, never expected to run into someone who does this stuff here too! I also did a social science degree (Psychology) and later did my masters in Statistics. I work with those software packages daily and I'm selftaught in very basic javascript and VB.NET. If it's chicks you're looking for, check out public health or medical sector. Oh, and SAS > R. :)
I can no longer work with SAS since I'm out of college and my education license has expired. To use SAS software now, I'd have to spend over $3,000 lol

But either way:
