What do you do for work?

I want Kronika to step on my face
Well I am a Software Engineer at Cisco Systems.

Have been working there for almost 3 years, and leaving in 2 weeks to move to Germany and get a Masters degree. Hell yeah.

I don't know what my dream job is TBH.

EDIT: Scratch not knowing. My dream job is to be a brilliant diagnostician like Dr. House. LOL

Data analyst. Currently looking for a new place to work. So I guess my current job is Couch Potato/Dark Souls-er.

I graduated with a Political Science degree, with a focus on social statistics. I've mainly worked for places that have me using SPSS, SAS, and R.

I'm also a self-taught programmer, but I've never formally worked at a place that had me doing any serious programming outside my usual statistical packages. I can fluently write Perl, Python, Ruby, C++, Lua, PHP, Javascript, and SQL

On that note, I refuse to program in Java, and wouldn't take a job if I had to use it. It's such a goddam awful programming language. I really, really, really hate it.

Data analyst IS my dream job. I love doing this.

The only thing that could make it better is if my field wasn't 90% guys... I really miss not being around as many gals in college. I find them easier to talk to, and all the guys at my last job never talked about anything but video games...ughhh..

Real talk........... IT guys who only do IT things kinda are annoying.

Go play outside when you get home from work...... not do more work.

Current: Sound Engineer for the last 10 years
Dream job: Keep doing this, and also make cash through my bands.

Any of you needs my service for their bands/ movie productions/ video games/ porn, hit me up. I'm willing to travel everywhere.

Awkward Sloth

Lamest Harley, still better sloth than Jer
Current job: Longshoreman
Actually I'm a subset of Longshoreman called a Checker. Basically I deal with those huge cargo containers that people ship over seas/on trains/ and by trucks. I check all their information on the containers and we keep track of them on our terminals till they're ready to be shipped somewhere else.

Simply put I'm a expensive pair of eyes cause it's union work. I like the pay and healthcare benefits and being able to create my own work schedule.

Dream job: working at a sloth Sanctuary. I just wanna hug sloths and play with them all day.

I am a telephone interviewer at a market research firm. My actual position is senior interviewer and all I do is sit on the phone in front of a computer and dial numbers (some jobs auto dial on a headset) until some one agrees to participate in the survey.
I do a lot of Biased political polls as well as set up customer review meetings between scumbag Allstate agents and their customers that they don't give a shit about.

I am really fucking good at doing this job... it sucks ass but I can talk extremely fast and memorize scripts like there's no tomorrow. By no means is this job my Dream job in terms of the work that I do. People are fucking assholes and I get shit on daily by people thinking I'm trying to sell them something or harassing them by calling too many times.

I've been at this shit dead end job for 3 years and I honestly hate the work I do. BUT THERE IS AN UPSIDE.
The job place is super chill most of the time. I got caught smelling like weed 3 times and all that was said was "don't let anyone smell that".
Also, Most of my job consists of dialing numbers that no one answers, I would say about 75% of the time I'm at work I'm just waiting for some one to pick up the phone. During this time I get to play on my Nintendo 3ds or kindle fire.

So all in all the reason I stay at this shit job is because I'm a lazy stoner. I get paid to eat cheetos smoke weed and play video games/surf the web while waiting for some one to pick up the phone to take a 5 minute survey with me.

My actual dream job would be Growing weed... I grow straight fire for personal use and if I could turn it into a career that would be amazing.

Well, Right now I am working part time as a customer service representative at a well-established hamburger chain in Canada. I don't live like a king but it's an incredible work environment with wonderful people. You just can't put a price tag on that.

I guess I'm living the dream. I mean sure, more money would be nice but my bills are paid, my games are bought and there's munchies in the fridge. That's all I've ever wanted out of life. Well, that and some nice friends to share it with :D

Wow, never expected to run into someone who does this stuff here too! I also did a social science degree (Psychology) and later did my masters in Statistics. I work with those software packages daily and I'm selftaught in very basic javascript and VB.NET. If it's chicks you're looking for, check out public health or medical sector. Oh, and SAS > R. :)

Only the last link is working for me. Probably a privacy thing.

But even from just seeing the last link, it was a mistake. Seeing a picture of gorgeous donuts is not a good idea while fasting :S

I am a certified Kindergarten to Grade 8 Teacher and highly specialized in Elementary content.

During the fall I substitute teach and pay my dues (full time positions here are practically null at the moment).

In the summer I work full time as a computer repair and phone specialist. In other words, I fix everything technology related.

I also coach wrestling in the spring. Been doing that voluntarily for the past two years.

Dream Job would be a full time tenured grade 5/6 teacher.

Real Job: I look after really old people with alzheimers and dementia. Needless to say hilarity ensues.
How long: Since April
Dream Job: Dunno, probably own my own record label/nightclub.
Props to you for your real job, dude. It's not something everyone can do due to lacking patience, sympathy, etc.

  • What do you do for work?
  • How long have you been doing it for?
  • What's your dream job?
- I'm an Operations Manager for a television production company. I manage their offices, including one that I believe is the largest Post facility in the country.
- I've been here for over nine years now, in the industry itself for almost twelve years
- Mattress tester. You come in and sleep for 8 hours. If you sleep in that's overtime. Also get to test the mattress for other uses as well. Since this isn't a realistic job though, my actual dream job is retirement.
