definitely trust me on this one. Seems like a joke band but the music is as top tier as the slug puns. There's even some (early) Mastodon influence in here. Awesome.

I get to see both these bands in about 3 weeks, super excited. The only downside is the 3 opening bands are all pretty generic "Djent" bands.

Pretty sure the only original "Djent" band is Periphery. The rest are all the same.

Thats not true at all, especially when Periphery took the djent sound from Meshuggah.

Likewise bands like Tesseract, Monuments, and Animals as Leaders use the djent sound but also incorporate other sounds that give them their own style.

Edit: Intervals is good too

The problem is some bands never stop doing the djent sound which makes their music bland imo.

I dont think any band consider themselves "djent", since most recognize it is just a certain style/sound. That being said the entire style was taken from Meshuggah's early albums.
