Is Injustice going to die when MK X gets out?

wow you guys make us look like a joke. lol listen to yourselves. we are a laughing stock. talking about quiting a rather good game (injustice) for another good game (mkx). how fucking silly does that sound.

Who says either is good? A lot of people really don't like Injustice and there's no telling how MKX will turn out. People will play Injustice when MKX comes out, others won't. Unfortunately every person that drops the game really hurts as we don't have tremendous numbers to begin with.

I have it on PS4 so I will still play it when MKX comes out as long as there are people to play against once and a while

Unfortunately it will probably die slowly but I'll be playing for as long as possible. We need more podcasts and rivalries.

the numbers for it i think will greatly die. tym as a whole THRIVES on mortal kombat. thats what most of us here all want. Correct me if im wrong but this was one of the best original places to come FOR mk was it not? (theres another site but i cant remember). regardless i would say 90% of the people here love mk more then injustice. eventually the numbers will gretatly decrease for it

By all means, if you want the game (injustice) to die out after EVO, feel free to. The Smash Bros, KI, Tekken, and Blaze Blue scene will be more than happy to take your scene's spot.

Personally, I think it would be unwise to let both games (MK9 and injustice) to die after EVO. The smart move would be to at least build/maintain the momentum from EVO toward the scene so MKX can have a stronger following when it comes out. Just my 2 cents.

I have to say I have always hated Superman quite a bit. On the opposite hand, I'm a huuuuge Batman/Gotham City fan...
I guess that makes sense :p Just find him boring and as a writer/scriptwriter I don't see the point of making a character that already has all the conflicts sorted out for him by going soft Deus Ex Machina and making it his chief character trait.
It's just poor character design and really sloppy if you ask me, but regardless, he exists, has a huge fanbase and that is something I have to acknowledge. The Man of Steel move was rad too so it's not like I'm not enjoying him.
But to put it like this: When the next movie comes up I hope Ben Affleck/Batman kicks his ass so hard....yes, BEN AFFLECK! :p
Well...the thing you have to understand is that Superman is a character born from a different age. He gave a kind of escapism that spoke to the attitudes of people at the time. These days he seems kind of boring since we're not really big fans of the ideal heroes and we like them all conflicted and flawed. I personally still like Superman, but I do agree that he's really struggling to find relevance in today's world.
Actually, my favorite take on superman by far is still the Timm/Dini animated version precisely because he wasn't a walking Deus Ex machina. They radically depowered him to the point where he was a bit more palatable. He can still fly, has heat vision, and can lift a passenger jet....but he's not moving the moon or blowing stars out anymore.

THE ONLY character that should go even maybe isDoomsday
Magic pwns the *FUCK* out of Superman bro. Haven't kept up with lore in a while but Captain Marvel used to have a positive win record against him.

@Compbros
Holy inceptionpost dude!!!

I like Superman, and I wasn't even complaining about him being OP. Really I was making a point that being a DC comics fan doesn't mean that you love Superman being able to run roughshot over everyone. For the record though, sometimes I do get annoyed at how far DC takes it. I mean seriously.....consider:

A challenger appears: the survivor of a kryptonian sister species combined with the living embodiment of the power of will and source of the green lantern corps. power!

NOPE. Space Jesus is still stronger.

Also, the characters I was bringing up as going even were more references to canonical power capabilities. Canon and character design is one thing, but Canon and character balance are quite another. I don't care how ludicrous it might be, Harley Quin should go even with doomsday.

Why can't the community continue to play MKX and Injustice? Is it that hard?
I don't know...honestly.

I've watched fighting games for a long time, but this game is definitely the furthest I've ever gone in one. Right now I can't see myself stopping anytime soon as I still have a higher level to reach with Arrow. That said, if I'm going to play MKX and be a part of this community when it comes out...
Well...if it requires the same level of time and dedication that I sank into this game (probably more since its a whole new kind of system I'm not used to), there's only so many hours int the day where I can play videogames.....

I'm actually kind of surprised Injustice has kept this popularity. I still play MK9 over Injustice.

But yeah, MKX is gonna take Injustice out back and put it down.

I write too much.
A game lives as long as people are willing to play it and do side tournaments. But speaking strictly about being a main game at EVO, it's going to be tough.

Mathematically they would need to run 9-10 games for Injustice to have a chance imo. Too many new fighting games on the horizon:

USF4
Marvel
New Smash
MKX
GG Xrd Sign
Capcom's new game
SNK's new game
Tekken 7

That's 8 slots not even counting other games like Melee, KOF, BB, Persona, TTT2/TxSF, DOA etc.
To be fair, Capcom's probably not having a new game if they're going bankrupt.

Also I don't know if a new smash will necessarily replace Melee at EVO. The fact that it looks to play more like Brawl than Melee could hurt its chances.

Anyway the game will probably lose a few players, but I know I will keep playing it, as will the rest of my scene I think. Beyond that I can't say, but I'd like to think it'll keep some life. After all, Joker is the most fun character I've played in a game so far.

EDIT:

Please don't turn this into a "Superman is OP" thread (in DC continuity). I. Will. Go. Hard.
He must be though! After all, I lost to him twice at UFGT and once again this weekend. I refuse to believe a loss could possibly in any way be potentially my fault, so scientifically speaking the only possible solution is that Superman is OP :DOGE

I'm guessing it will die as much as MK9 died when Injustice came out, and then it will come back when Injustice 2 is announced. It might retain a larger following than MK9 did, though, just because it's a superhero game populated with popular characters.
i think igau will drop off faster than mk. i also think throughout its life MK had higher attendance. if you compare year 1 mk to year 1 igau. mlg was also much healthier for MK.

Tekken 7 was announced. Still no word on TekkenxSF but it's a possibility.

And Ono has been hinting for a while that they are working on something new. R&D was done months ago and now they have probably begun production.
I'm skeptical about this TBH.
But yeah, the fact that half a dozen triple A FGs are on thier way means less and less chances for Inj to be in Evo next year. However, it's up to the community to keep playing the game regardless.
As I said before I am done with Injustice the moment Xrd and MKX are in my hands. Still, I want everyone to know I will support this community out of love for it and the players I have come to enjoy watching play.
