How much would "One More Patch" mean?

NRS doesn't treat their games like Capcom treats Street Fighter. Granted, Capcom is having its problems, but if you think about it, people have been playing the same Street Fighter game for 6 years. Street Fighter 4 was released in 2008. It stays fresh because of regular updates. To be fair, the updates aren't even done to balance the game, as the characters who sucked in the original version still suck for the most part. The point is...it keeps the game fresh and holds interest.

NRS is always thinking about the next game. Boon never wants to release something that feels just like the last game. I definitely respect that, but I'd love for them to release a game they're happy with, stick with that exact engine and just fine tune it. I really do love MK9, and if they patched it buffing some of the shitters instead of deleting Kabal and Kenshi from the game like most want, you can't tell me people wouldn't have given it a shot again.

In closing, I'd like to say that I personally don't mind 2 or 3 versions of what is essentially the same game as long as it's adding new elements, characters and some sort of balancing. Shit, I've purchased every Marvel and Street Fighter game and I hardly touch them. Don't be afraid to release Ultimate MKX, NRS. I, for one, would happily pay for it. I know patches are expensive for these developers, so why not listen to the community (not that anyone can ever agree on anything) and release a $10 or $15 upgrade a year or so after MKX is released? Look at what Ultra has done for Street Fighter!

My biggest complaint, at least as a Lobo player, is that literally every setup I have except for 1 must be performed differently depending on which character I'm facing. In mk9, there were hitbox archetypes and as long as a character fit in that archetype, the setup against that archetype worked.

Like I said, almost EVERYTHING is character specific. I don't have a local scene so I have great matchup experience against 3-4 characters. If I play any other characters in tourney, I'm done. Online is shitty. Can't practice all of my "to the frame, character specific" strategies so it's just yolo all the time. I feel like I have no solid grounds for consistent training at all.

I also can't practice against mixups in training mode. I can't set Lobo to block when I'm recording with the other charcter. So... once again... just yolo all the time. I've been losing interest in the game more and more. At this point I'm just messing around until MKX comes out.

I just wish there is an answer for every matchup but there really isn't. I can't do anything against lex or bane, especially bane. If I score a knock down on lex before his armor and death traps go up, at least I have an oki game where he has to decide if he wants to risk a wake up. Bane just wakes up all day with no fucks given and I can't punish anything he does. I hate that there are some characters that don't even abide by the laws of the game lol. Too much easy mode with armor and safe wake-up attacks and not enough careful design imho. I love the game and I love when the matchup is fairly even, because it gives you an idea of how it could be, but then when you see a crazy bad matchup it makes you want to play something else. Let's hope mkx has fewer gimmicks

come on man, its time to accept the game for what it is or move on, seriously.

No, they would not. People need to stop parroting whatever CD Jr. posts and think for themselves.

Most characters in the game already have good mobility whether they be offensive characters (i.e., Flash, Superman, Wonder Woman) or defensive characters (i.e., Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Sinestro). Characters who are weak at mid range and/or have mediocre mobility have either been given a teleport (i.e., Batgirl, Zatanna) or armor (Bane, Lex) or other types of miscellaneous tools (i.e., Batman and bats, Killer Frost and slide). Characters who have terrible walking speeds (i.e., Green Lantern, Zod) usually have terrible walking speeds by design to prevent brokenness.

Some low tier characters are low tier regardless of mobility. Ares, Cyborg, and Scorpion have decent mobility. Nonetheless, they are bad because they lack tools. Just like every low tier character in every fighting game ever made.
Ares is bad?

I hope NRS gonna take the SF4 approach with MKX i rather pay every year 20 bucks or what ever the new versions prize is if that means the game gets consistent support bug fixes, balance changes. And its not like you cant add new Characters, Story Arcs or features in these new versions to get also non Tournament Player interested in buying the newest version. These days there are more than enough ways to make money with an already released game (for Developer/Publisher) if it gets supported properly.

I think you guys have a good game on your hands balance wise. I didn't quit playing because of balance I quit because I had college starting and fighting games consume too much time.

One more patch would be cool sure. But the cycle never really ends. More stuff gets found, new characters rise, people call for more nerfs. repeat.

You guys have a good game on your hands.

...play it.

One last thing before I stopped posting or even look at this thread anymore cause obviously there are still people who honestly think the game is fine right now. Like ninj said this happened with mk9 a patch will never come not because they can't do but for other reasons I won't say also like tomluls brady said just accept the game for what it is if you like it play if you don't don't play it simple. After evo there is no possible way I'm ever touching the game again unless there is a tournament for it with at least 30k pot bonus I'll still support it and try commentate at majors. After watching ceo GF when the guy who was fighting sonic fox picked Aquaman and literally reseted the bracket by just doing d1 trident rush made it a deciding factor to never touch the game after evo.

Monster Island Tournaments
My opinions
AM: nerf Trident rush chip damage and meter building to normal levels, crap maybe even make the MB version -12??
MMH: make scoop -12 with no pushback and make the overhead teleport his MB teleport only.
Batgirl: reduce damage in the corner by 15-20%. Perhaps make one of her strings whether it be the OH or LOW starter, punishable so its not just free 50/50s all day?
Bane: MB Venom uppercut should only come out on Block or Hit, not on whiff.
WW: Eliminate divebomb OTG or make her divebomb punishable like Supermans.
Zod: can't dash cancel trait

I think this could breathe fresh air into the game or else it will suffer the same fate MK9 did. Dominated by 2-4 characters at every tourney and people lose interest. Granted there is literally no chance of "one last patch" so I'll still enjoy it for what it is but without a doubt its following the same pattern as Mk9s life span.

You and the competitive community are in the minority. Casual players (You know the millions of people who are buying up NRS games keeping them in business) want completely new stuff. This is why the NRS business model has been so successful from a profitability stand point. What's the competitive injustice community? 5000 people? I'd bet it's probably way less than that, but compare that 5000 to the millions of copies that NRS sold for the game. Likewise with MK9. The unfortunate truth is these games are a passion and a business for these guys, and they have to balance both. Capcoms business model works for them because the street fighter series is big in Japan, they can count on decent sales numbers on every refresh.

Those people were mostly casuals who were not going to pick up the game or people already prejudiced. You must be pretty fucking dumb to expect a brand new game not to have shit that will soon be patched as the game develops, we didn't lose anything.
I think you're underestimating how many people were likely turned off by it. Not only did we have a wonky game for a while, but our grand finals were booed. I just don't think a game can really recover from that. We stayed strong and have a dedicated community, but those fumbles were way too heavy in the beginning.

To be fair, most of the people complaining about movement no longer play Injustice because of it, including myself. People are simply trying to shine light on what the problems is.

Let's just say movement speed did get fixed then the tier list would change if not stay somewhat the same. Then some people if not the same people. Would have something new to bitch about as @cdjr said if you don't like it don't play it that simple

I don't think we should stop playing Injustice.

Look, there have been plenty of fighting game communities that played unbalanced games for a very long time. Injustice isn't perfectly balanced, it has problems, but NO fighting game is 100%, perfectly balanced.
You will always have tiers.
Instead of complaining about what the game isn't, let's enjoy what it is and keep it going. The only reason Injustice may "die" is if we let it.

Delete the DLC characters.

Whether they are OP or not, it's not like NRS wasn't trying.

People complained about zoning, well here's some characters with teleports to get around that.

People complained about interactibles, well here's a character who monopolizes all of them for you.

OP or not, they aren't designed to fit with the other characters, they're designed to sell well, so people who tire of having to actually deal with the gameplay mechanics can just pay money to get past all that.

I hate to sound all "illuminati dude!", but its painfully obvious at this point.

I also don't agree that this game is run away/ "throwing shit" based.
Zoning characters are strong, sure, and Zod and Sinestro are probably the best at it.
But I've noticed that whenever the conversation of Top 5 comes into play, it is always about footsies characters and rushdown characters that are mentioned.

Zoning is strong in the game, but no more strong than some of the dedicated rushdown characters are. That's how it's supposed to work, right? Dedicated zoners are supposed to be good at zoning and keep-away, and dedicated rushdown characters are supposed to be good at rushing down and applying pressure.

I think you're oversimplifying what it takes to play these characters competently.
