For anime games it goes

GG> BB > P4A > everything else.

BB is the spiritual successor to GG since there were issues with the GG licence I heard. So people naturally supported BB in the waits for GG. GG numbers will blow the SHIT out of BB when xrd finally comes out.
They talking about th next EVO, while Im still waiting for Anji.

Yeah randoms pay over a thousand dollars to travel to the world finals. That's why nobody takes evo seriously ever.
You're telling me that all 300 players are good players? More like ~100are good players and the rest are just randoms who sign up for injustice just cuz it's there. When I went for MK9 I played 3 randoms in pools, 1 didn't show up then I had DJT and red reaper. DJT had to play a 5 year old kid..... majority of evo is randoms. EVO is usually the most stacked tourney but lots of randoms come out cuz it's a great experience.

Siglemic traveled to evo 2k13 and signed up for every game and only played for 2. Siglemic is no pro either. He speedruns mario 64. His main reason to coming out was to see the competition.

So rare, that it just happened last year.
only the 2nd time that ever happened, FYI. before that it was only tekken - evo 2003 & 2004 had tekken 4 and TTT. actually the entire lineup was exactly the same both those years, and the largest evo lineup ever (9 games)!

i think we were *extremely* lucky MK9 got a 3rd year, given how badly numbers had fallen off by that point - the low evo turnout that year backs this up. probably the strangest evo pick since the year of DOA4 & mario kart imo.

If EVO continues to have 8 games, it's an absolute possibility that both MKX and Injustice will be there....i feel like NRS games will be 3 year EVO games (which i hope I'm wrong)
i highly doubt it since MK10 announcement already seems to have killed a lot of interest in inj. the impending death of the "8 characters in every top 8" era won't help, either. but i think the biggest issue will be the number of hot new games coming out by evo 2015: MK10, GGXrd, P4A2, and the new Smash. if all of those get in, which i think is pretty likely, then you can probably say bye-bye to inj.

i see 7 games being "strong" choices for evo next year: SF4, marvel, melee, and the new games mentioned above. if they stuck with 8 then maybe you could talk about injustice...but i think it would be more likely that KOF or tekken gets back in since those games would draw a unique audience. evo places top priority on appealing to as many different communities as possible, which is why TTT2 got in over SFxT last year.

The numbers reflect the game imo. Anyway, I'm hype for USF4 and Inj, I'll try and catch the GFs for the rest.

I still think that SFxT would have made it in under different circumstances. But waiting too long to patch the game, combined with people becoming fed up with the issues and the hype dying out, added up to too little, too late when it was finally patched.

The game has very little momentum on its own now. This is why I continually remind people that just "waiting it out" or "letting it rock" sometimes has fatal consequences if the issues are bad enough. Once the hype and community are gone it's hard to get them back.

I also have no doubt that if IGAU had not been aggressively patched when it was, we'd be sitting right next to cross Tekken in the side-tournaments area this year.

PS Didnt XTekken have its GF off stream? That was hilarious.
