So rare, that it just happened last year.
only the 2nd time that ever happened, FYI. before that it was only tekken - evo 2003 & 2004 had tekken 4 and TTT. actually the entire lineup was exactly the same both those years, and the largest evo lineup ever (9 games)!
i think we were *extremely* lucky MK9 got a 3rd year, given how badly numbers had fallen off by that point - the low evo turnout that year backs this up. probably the strangest evo pick since the year of DOA4 & mario kart imo.
If EVO continues to have 8 games, it's an absolute possibility that both MKX and Injustice will be there....i feel like NRS games will be 3 year EVO games (which i hope I'm wrong)
i highly doubt it since MK10 announcement already seems to have killed a lot of interest in inj. the impending death of the "8 characters in every top 8" era won't help, either. but i think the biggest issue will be the number of hot new games coming out by evo 2015: MK10, GGXrd, P4A2, and the new Smash. if all of those get in, which i think is pretty likely, then you can probably say bye-bye to inj.
i see 7 games being "strong" choices for evo next year: SF4, marvel, melee, and the new games mentioned above. if they stuck with 8 then maybe you could talk about injustice...but i think it would be more likely that KOF or tekken gets back in since those games would draw a unique audience. evo places top priority on appealing to as many different communities as possible, which is why TTT2 got in over SFxT last year.
