General/Other Saying Hi To Other Grundys

After a bit of time trying and giving up I was finally able to get this account going with the help of Mr. CrimsonShadow. Thank you again sir.

This is a bit of a hello mixed with looking for matches post. Guess I could have did a standard intro in the Noob passage forums but I mainly only wanted to say hi to fellow Grundy players. Pretty much played Grundy exclusively most of my time online (approx 1600 games or so), which is ironic as you would think I would be better by now.

I've never took the time to learn any fighting game beyond the special moves. So Injustice is the first I've been introduced to concepts like frame data / traps / block strings etc. Don't want to make a retarded long first post, so point of all this is simply: I'm saying hi, and looking for anyone who doesn't mind helping me level up my Grundy. Don't worry work shouldn't be too hard....I can at least WCC, and even throw a 11 in between sometimes.....sorta...

Hey there kaname! You can check the Video section for some match footage, but some of that stuff is out of date. The best place to check is by going to EGP Wonderchefs Twitch and viewing the WNF broadcasts. There you will find some Tyrant gameplay, who is probably the best Grundy out there.

Hi there, well if Grundy is the 1st character you seriously played... I don't know what you may become in later games. I don't own PS3, XBOX or any other game console so I can't play online. But, the thread name gave me a smirk, so I came in.

Stay loyal to Solomon Grundy

Yea I think I've watched all of tyrant's videos under hitbox / RDK tyrant. In my mind I see my Grundy moving like his, but on muh TV screen Grundy don't move like his.

Tyrant's rushdown style isn't the only style. You may do less wcc and full punish whiffs, jumping frogs and wrong spacing. The least dmg Grundy does with 1 bar is 51% (or 41%, depends which trait is the ender) and all this from d2. You don't have to move like crazy if you pull off combos like this (which isn't something so special, they get in your skin in less than 2 days). There are other tactics too, but I believe this is the best thinking for online play considering the lag.
Now don't get me wrong, Tyrant was my favorite to watch in MK9, but Grundy isn't so simple as he seems to be.

Never thought about it from that angle. It's funny how much you have to change your "gaming" mindset in order to improve in this type of environment. I think trying this style actually might fit me better. I do find myself wanting to wait as oppose to rushing in so much. Thanks for the tip. Yea I've never gotten as turnt up as much as when watching Tyrant go in. Thing of beauty.

Hi! I think I can relate to your wait and see opinion of Grundy-play

I usually play him as a "wait for the other guy to fuck up then murder him" sort of character, but it's best to not get pigeon-holed to one style, gotta keep people on their toes!

Anyway enjoy your stay, the Grundy community welcomes you :)
