I'm more of a 3/5 for top 16/8 guy, but just reporting as MK was 3/5 at MLG and we're in the transition period of Injustice of where 2/3 or 3/5 is being determined for the long haul

Yeah I'm not so sure about this.

J wong just won NCR with a widely considered mid tier team.
He had to beat an evo top 8 finalist who uses the best team in the game in grand finals as well.

Avoiding 3/5 because you want to avoid top tier characters seems like really bad reasoning to me. It's not like those 2 characters run this game. They aren't running things now and even if they were... this game was designed around 3/5 so that really kind of ends the argument in my eyes.

I couldn't disagree with this more.

I'm not against 2/3 so if MLG chooses to stick with it then so be it but I prefer 3/5 because it gives the players more bang for their buck.

I agree and I prefer 3/5 when playing. But just going by how MU numbers work it makes sense that Top tier characters would benefit from longer sets. That's all I am saying.

I don't look at it as character based but player based TBH. The longer the set the best PLAYER will win, not the character.

Yeah, Vandy. I was at least able to get the stage rules changed. They would compensate for 3/5, but did entertain the idea of Top 8 possibly being 3/5.

This was before the Tekken announcement, though....so I doubt it even gets considered.
