USF4 Final Changes released

If your fine with charge characters, Decapre seems like she would fit that, though I don't know how scrub friendly she will be.
I've always had issues with charge characters, although truth be told the last one I tried to play properly was Guile and his play-style didn't fit. What about Yang? From the few vids I've seen he seemed to have standing reset mix-ups coming out of his arse, but I don't know if these are still viable in USF4.

He's pretty mix up heavy with his dive kick and his j.mk crosses up now.

So who's the most like Batgirl in this game? Teleport aside, I mean things like mix-ups, resets, rush-down and usable by complete scrubs. I'll be playing this very casually on a pad so Juri is out (storing fireballs with a pad? fuck that), otherwise it would be her as she looks fun to play with and really annoying to play against.

Glad El Fuerte got the buffs he DESPERATELY needed.

I might consider picking this up... But I'm still too sick of one-frame-links to look at this game for a while...

I don't want to practice his links for a month just to get back into my El Fuerte game.

There are no more vortexes in this game.
Is this because of the delayed wake-up mechanic? While I know it takes away frame-perfect vortexes, I would've thought that someone like Ibuki who can modify the timing of her kuni throws (I think!) could still give people grief and force them to guess correctly, i.e. whether to delay or not delay the wake-up. It might not be guaranteed, but it's still a threat.

You can alter your timing to techincally still get a vortex, but at that point, you are just guessing. If you throw a Kunai too late when they wake up normally, you could open yourself up to a punish.

Good point - I've lost all control of the vortex and it's now a 50/50 for me as well.

Who's got a standing reset loop then? :D

Noone that I can think of. SF4 is more about the footsie and knockdown game then resets. Yun has a pretty strong reset game.

Street Fighter will not be fun at first. it will be frustrating and u will get bodied over and over. the execution barrier is waaay higher and footsies are waaaay stronger. Don't mean to downplay you, but getting into street fighter with no prior experience is a toughy.

no such thing as injustice knowledge. sf4 is a completely different game

Standing resets aren't like IGAU. A standing reset in SF still allows you to reversal out of, so your opponent has options.

About a Batgirl fit, it's hard to say, because she really doesn't have any similar characters outside of NRS games. Decapre might be the closest thing you get, and even then she's likely not even close still.

Also, vortexes still exist in this if they aren't reliant on hard knockdowns. Cammy's knockdown shit is still there, just she doesn't get a ridiculous mixup post-back throw. Akuma, Ibuki, Hakan, and T. Hawk are probably the most affected by the delayed wake-up. Ibuki and Hakan are essentially ruined, actually.

I heard Guile is gonna be a beast in Ultra. That is great news for me.

-Autocorrect, 5f Ultra 1 (no crossing him up anymore)
-More damage on Ultra 2
-Better damage without charge (thanks to c.LP being +5)
-Air throw at 3f returns (can reaction air throw out of stuff like Fei chicken wing now)
-f+HK up close now has a better hitbox to hit crouchers (better offense)
-Best low poke has a bigger hitbox
-Wake-up glitch fixed
-System wake-up changes benefit neutral game-based characters (which is what Guile is)

BUT... If you played a game like SCV or Tekken at a high level, where the use of footsies, high execution and strict frame data is common, it wont be such a big deal, just transfer your FG knowledge to SF, as SF is the FG father, it is not that different.

If you only played injustice, which is not exactly a traditional FG, then you might have some trouble, but it´s for the best. Just practice

You can NOT compare 3d to 2d. Completely different things, SF4 has way more different mechanics and move properties.

Blanka getting knockdown off a H rolling attack is pretty good, so is adding 2f of blockstun on backstep roll. The only thing that really sucks is the pusback on crouching mk. That is a good tool of his to keep pressure up and now is kinda nerfed.

Look at what they are based around. Both are hard knockdown-heavy characters. Ibuki's footsies are solid, but she's not a character that gets by on pure footsies alone. That's why Sako slowly switched off of her in favor of ERyu. Most of Hakan's oil dive traps on knockdown and ALL of his post-knockdown offense comes off of a hard knockdown. Much of his threat comes from the fact that he has so many ways to put you into a hard knockdown scenario. You're forcing these two characters to play off of something other than their strongest abilities. That nerfs the ever-loving shit out of them just by looking at it.

Looking being the key word. You don't know how the game will evolve now.
SFIV is so rigid now, in terms of meta. Both of these characters have evolved around their setups, and balance changes up until now have done nothing but bolster that. This is not like IGAU being a year old. This is an almost 6-year-old series being played in a time where EVERYTHING is spread around much, much faster than the old days. At this point, it's really, really easy to see who is going to be affected heavily by the DWU change. Characters that played off of hard knockdowns a lot are hurt. Characters that struggled to deal with said knockdowns are helped. Characters who were strong for reasons not related are helped indirectly by a shift of importance in the metagame.
