Many of the usual warriors appeared here at VA's Top of the food chain once again to battle it out for VA's top spot. This tournament however is one of the first to feature major upsets, dramatic finishes, salty losses, and a few profane words. Let's cut with the nicety and get on with the tournament! Right off the bat we saw all of the big names here get through the first and second rounds pretty convincingly. The third round however, is when the scene changed dramatically!
Right off the bat two heavy hitters went at it, we had Captain Oxygen coming fresh off his top 16 at winterbrawl against Kinetic Orochi coming fresh off his top 8 at FR. Upset of the tournament happened early on as Oxygen seized a tight 3-2 victory hook charging and nuclear blasting Orochi into losers. On the same side of the bracket we saw a rematch of previous TOTFC's as Mr Aquaman took on Dark steel for the 100th time here. Dark Steel has eliminated Mr Aquaman a few times here at TOTFC before. Fresh off his switch to stick Mr Aquaman comes out swinging to take the set 3-1 to avenge his previous losses. On the other side of the bracket we had a VA GL MIRROR (who would have thought). Another upset in bound? YOU KNOW IT. Jkun from our richmond ares who has been a real solid placer here took on former champ and usual top 4ist Blackula. I could feel it coming in the air tonight as Jkun unleashed a fury of green lantern bullshit as he puts Blackula into losers 3-0.
Moving on to winners semis, we saw Oxygen destroy the god of wars hopes 3-0 when bracketology finally favored him. Oxygen avenges his losses in casuals at Winterbrawl, with a squid hat on, and laughing pointing at me......meanwhile on the other side VA flash enthusiast and sometimes decent player Sidthehaze sends jkun into losers 3-1
In losers we saw a runback built up from last tourny as Blackula took on arch nemesis Srryimwhte, taking the set 3-1 Blackula looked the sharper after srryimwhte came out swinging taking the fist game. Orochi handling that of Dark Steel adn Jkun in the mirror fighting his way through losers. Absolute nailbiter ensued as Mr Aquaman and Blackula duked it out, Mr Aquaman eventually got b13'd and the set remained 3-2 Blackula. Orochi then played the 13th GL mirror of the day beating Blackula 3-1 in a match NEVER BEFORE SEEN HERE AT TOTFC..........................
In winners finals we had a nailbiter 3-2 tight set between Lobo master Oxygen vs Flash button masher Sidthehaze, Oxygen coming out on top and being the absolute surprise of the tournament, could anyone stop this cigar smoking LITTLE KID!?!!? In losers finals sidthehaze has to face off against his pissed off training partner as both sat there wondering, who the f@$ is lobo?? Anyways a fight ensued and Orochi looked ever so dominate in the MU sweeping it 3-0.
In grand finals Kinetic Orochi coming off his rant about how bad Glacius and Green Lantern are sat down to play this hobo with a shotgun of a small dude. What then happened........
Orochi Virginia Lanterns his way on to 6-0 sweep Oxygen on grand finals. In utterly dominate fashion Kinetic Orochi defends his throne.
