to play devils advocate i imagine NRS decided to make it hard to land the hit because Grundy does half life on a touch. But then that's not even fair because fucking bane exists and he does stupid damage with much better options to open you up with. I know why the noose'd zombie roars
Bane's damage used to be offset by the cooldown on the venom used to get that damage.
"used" to be that way! If they're going to buff bane and all these characters so they do hella damage with neglible drawbacks then Grundy should've gotten something stupid too

Grundy isn't as bad as Joker, but the dream is dead for Grundy now. Good character early on in the game but NRS had to give everyone throw immune strings so when Grundy gets in close he has to hold dat upclose where he is supposed to dominate by game design. I myself will probably just drop Grundy for Zod :/. Tis a shame

Give it another year; Grundy will eventually drop to bottom tier while Joker rises.
If someone at NRS reads this, does another "across the board" change that indirectly nerfs Joker/I lose the very short, but incredibly useful, throw immunity on BF3, you will be punished...
Well you've basically answered answered yourself already lol. But I do think Grundy needs something more. I really think making WC a stance and allowing to to cancel out of it earlier would improve his options so you can go into other moves faster. It just seems silly to have an arguably "brain-dead" universal counter to his "best" way to approach. However, it's not like we're babies that always need patches for everything. We can work with what we've got if we have the right mindset (using 2, sweep, d2, MB trait, and Grave Rot more in neutral game I guess) and make the best out every hit we get (going for damage enders, resets, or which trait followup to use depending on match-ups) even if we don't get many.
I've also been known to mash teleport, but I mash it online as opposed to off, so I'll defer to you

I do play him and he's obviously super strong, you didn't get 2nd at NEC through a fluke.
All due respect to you as a player and the fact that I admire you using Grundy for your troublesome matchups, but Aquaman's B12 isn't throw immune.
Most of his specials aside from his water shield are throw immune, so if I cancel B12 into scoop, that's when the throw immunity kicks in, since scoop is throw immune. B12 in itself has no throw immunity frames which I'm almost positive on.
